Discriminated against... I was followed around the store from the moment i entered the store for no other reason except for the color of my skin (Short Version) I have been to this Target store hundreds of times and until today 25-Apr-2001, I have always had a pleasant experience. Today was definitely not the case. I had ordered a total of 9 shoes from Target online (I love this store) and had to return 2 and exchange 1 for a smaller size. I was in the store for a total of 5 minutes total. As I walked into the store with my three bags for return, I notice one of their “Team members” look at me. I thought nothing of it. I made my way to the shoe section to see if they had the smaller size of the shoe I wanted to exchange. As I browsed quickly through the shelves, I noticed the same “Team member” now with a security officer by his side about 20 feet away talking to each other and looking at me. The shoe I wanted to exchange was not there so I made my way to the customer service center. As I was returning my items I noticed the same team member and security officer now about 10 feet away from me, again trying not to make eye contact, but I knew that they had followed me. As I made my returns the “team member” made his way to the back of the customer service desk and watched as the cashier returned my items as the security guard stood there still watching me. I got my receipts and as I walked out the store, I noticed the security guard was a close distance between me, following me as I walked out, he even followed me outside and watched me get into my car. As I drove away, I just could not let it go. I very well knew I had been followed from the moment I entered the store all the way out. I was in the store for a max of 5 minutes. I did not thing that was suspicious, I was singled out the moment I walked into the store. The only reason I could settle on was about how I looked; I am a black female! I turned my car around and returned to the store as went up to customer service and asked the store manager. He approached me and I questioned him about their policy about following customers around the store. I told him I am a loyal Target customer, I have been for years, and to be followed around the store for no reason at all, and solely on how I look. I must say it brought me to tears as I returned to my car. I asked for the names of the two employees who followed me, the store manager left, talked with them and told me that he could not give me their names, but that they did admit that they followed me around the store and he apologized on behalf of them and the store. I am sorry, but that I just not enough. A quick “I am sorry I followed you around the store because of how you look and not on anything you did” is just not enough. I was in that store for under 5 minutes. In that time I went only to the shoe section and customer service. I did nothing that was indicative of a shoplifter or merited to have a security officer follow me around the store. I was given a customer comment card to respond to, and the store manager took my name and phone number indicating he will follow up with me. I will be waiting for a follow up call. I told the store manager I have no intension of ever returning to this store ever again. I have no tolerance for discrimination, and I have a right, to go to a store and exercise my right to shop without feeling as though I am being singled out because of how I look

I will NEVER set foot in a Target again. I went there to buy what would be my second GPS from them. I was also looking for a gift bag for my sons birthday gift. I must have Batman on it. To my delight, I found a really nice one for only $2.89, but no GPS I liked. While I was at it I picked up 2 toy cars at $5.99 each for my other son and paid with my Target card. So there, I had 3 items. I went home to hide the gift bag until Tuesday and looked at the receipt. Oddly, the items were not named correctly on the receipt. I was charged $6.99 and $5.99 twice. $4 is a lot to overpay for an item, so I went back to fix it. They gave me the runaround for 15 mins asking if I was sure I didnt get something else. I kept saying no and asking if they could explain why the names of the items were weird on the receipt. I had not heard what the security guard had to do with it, but he was shown something on the receipt and went off to do something. I was losing my patience after waiting more than 5 minutes. All they had to do was adjust it. I was furious when the guard returned and walked up to me and said he was looking at the tapes to see what I put in my bag. He said he had footage of me walking away but he could not see what I had. He told the rep to go ahead and refund me the difference. The cashier was very rude to me. Wtf?! You think I stole something, then returned the next day to get a partial $4 refund?? I was so infuriated. Just...wow. I will never set foot in Target again. I am only one customer, but I get it. I think they treated me that way because I am black. I am not done yet Target. Glad Walmart is across the street.

This used to be my go to Target store, but things have changed recently. Nobody ever asks if I want to be helped anymore, the employees look like theyre having the worst day in existence, and they started blocking the doors with carts but full the cart areas with appliances. When I asked an employee if he thought it was OK to block fire doors with carts, his response was to try and belittle me with tales of how hes the store manager and this action was approved by his district leader, telling me to get over it. Extremely rude, shop at the Rockville location, they still know how to act human.

The worst Target Ive been to. The stuff is very disrespectful. They are ignorant of their own return policy. They sell you overpriced crappy stuff and later refuse to accept a return. I bought a bike that literally fell apart after 4 weeks of use. I came to return the it and they were not accepting it. A person with a nametag "Melissa" who was claiming to be the manager on duty lied to my face that my receipt was expired even it wasnt. Save your nerves and time and go to the Rockville Target or try to avoid this chain at all

This is my local Target, so Ive been many times. The store is kept fairly neat and the employees are friendly. Located inside is a Starbucks and Pizza Hut (Thankfully not combined) which is always nice. At times the Starbucks area can get a bit messy. Prices are fair, selection is decent, and I believe the upcharge of a couple dollars compared to the Walmart within walking distance is well worth it. Theres normally a moderate crowd at all times and of course prior to 4pm and after 9pm are less crowded.
