The customer service in this store is NOT Reliable ! Most Barns and Noble would reserve your books up to 3 days. This store WILL lose them or give them away without any apology! I tried to pick up 4 calendars & planners that we have reserved yesterday afternoon. It turned out that the store already gave them away. The manager kept saying that the only thing she could do is to look those items up from the “search Engine” – basically it is Not her problem! Just remember that any 5 years old kid could do the “online search” these days! It’s a manager’s responsibility to “resolve” a problem, not to find excuses or blame someone else, especially the mistake is theirs. Because those calendars and planners have been sold out, I could not even find them on the Internet any longer. When the store has no credibility, those book lovers eventually will go somewhere else. I’ve visited Barns and Noble stores all over the US in the past 20 years, I’ll rank this Frederick store is one of the Worst despite it’s good location. I’m totally disappointed !

I am a regular B&N visitor since my local Border Books closed. I browse the latest mags and books; download Nook Books; and often take advantage of the free hour of reading per day offered for my Nook device. The food areas are comfortable and clean and I enjoy drinking my freshly made unsweet iced tea there on the regular. The only thing that saddens me during my visits (thus preventing the top rating) is the advertised Free Wi-Fi service if quite spotty. When I am *able* to connect I find that my connections will drop out. Often times I am unable to connect at all. So if you are going to visit B&N strictly for the Free Wi-Fi, try McDonalds or the nearby Panera bread. But for reading, relaxing, book browsing, beverages and atmosphere, B&N is a great place to visit.

I had my daughter with me and I needed to purchase a couple of Christmas gifts for her without her noticing. I asked a staff member if I showed them the gifts, could she collect them and have them at the register so that I may purchase them. It was a very busy day and she took the time, followed me and as I tapped on the items she collected them, rung them up at the register, and double bagged them before my daughter and I made it to the register to purchase an additional book she loved. She was very pleasant and truly went above and beyond without my daughter ever noticing a single thing. I had to write a review as well as let her manager know, how amazing she was today! I always receive great service hear, but this was truly lifesaver for me and well appreciated.

Ordered a book to be sent to the store on December 13th and was told it would take 4-5 business days. Followed up 5 business days later after hearing absolutely nothing and was told the book was in that days shipment so I should expect to hear from a book seller that day (Friday) or the following day (Saturday). Again, I received no further information, so I called the following Monday (December 21st) and was told that the book had not even shipped yet. Since this was supposed to be a Christmas present, I was then forced to purchase a gift somewhere else. I will not be returning to Barnes and Noble if I can avoid it. Terrible experience and their customer service/follow through was extremely lacking.

Clean and organized store. The Starbucks attached has lots of seating, the kids toys section is awesome (lots of educational toys), my son LOVES the Thomas the Train table set up in the childrens book section and the Duplo table on the toy section. The bored game selection is great too with lots of classics as well as the new and popular game. The books seem organized and they have had all the titles that I look for. At one time I was a B&N member but since this location isnt very close to me I dont shop there enough to make it worth it.

plenty of seating but only 3 electrical outlets. are you kidding me? student wanting to grab a cup o joe and study a little? forget about it. the only spots available to plug your laptop in are being used by people who arent using the outlets at all. so rude!! lucky enough to get a spot with an outlet? the wifi is so slow you probably wont get anything accomplished anyway. no excuse for that. cmon B&N upgrade that network. and its not a starbucks. they only sell starbucks brand coffee. cannot use a starbucks gift card there.

Everything a book store could have and should!! Records, baby section and coffee thats a +++ for me. Also they have story time and the store was nice an neat and theres a big toy section as well with alot of baby toys!

The staff if very friendly here. Store is generally clean and the cafe is lovely. What I dont enjoy is that theyve decreased the amount of manga they carry. Not sure if this is a corporate choice or the stores.

Selection was a bit sparse. If you want something off a best seller list youll be fine, but I was looking for an audiobook before a long car ride and the selection was disappointing.
