Ive thought about writing a review for a few months now. I wanted to make sure I could write it objectively first. Heres my one-sentence summary: I was treated terribly from the start and wouldnt go back. Heres my story: Ive worked in retail on and off for years. I came to them because I wanted a left-hand Obsession Phoenix. Most shops dont stock lots of lefties, so I figured Id have to order. The guy helping me was grumpy from the start and I couldnt shake the feeling that he had something better to do than talk with me. No matter, this was the only shop from whom I could buy an Obsession Bow. I continued on and he said hed order it and call me when it was ordered. 5 days passed with no phone call, so I called to inquire. I told him my name and that I had ordered but hadnt heard back from them. I was polite. He got angry with me and said hed been too busy to order my bow but would do it that day and call me. 3 more days passed. no phone call. I called again. I was still polite. He got angry again and badmouthed the company, said he couldnt order the bow without my draw length and other preferences. I reminded him that id given him that info a week ago, and he was defensive. I didnt press the issue. He finally ordered the bow. I called the company to check on it because by now I was beginning to not trust them. Indeed they had a preliminary order from several days past but didnt have my draw length, color preferences or anything else because, Macrotech will call the customer to get this information. So I gave them another week, giving them the benefit of being busy. No call, so I called Obsession and completed the order specs myself. (theyre a great company). Macrotech was then to call me when the bow came in. I waited 3 months and no call from Macrotech. So I called just to check in. They got really angry, said theyd never ordered the bow because the company wont return their calls, and is difficult to deal with but that I could come by and shoot one of the bows on their showroom. By now, I figured the bow was lost, and just wished this guy would hang up and go out of business. I was polite, but i asked him if this is how he normally treats customers. He back peddled some, but it was clear he had other things to do, so I freed him from having to work with me. I called Obsession, and they gladly transferred the bow order to my name and sold it directly to me. I couldnt be happier with my bow or my experience with Obsession. I just wouldnt go to Macrotech if I were you. There are 3-4 other stores around the area who will treat you well. My two cents.

I waited for my turn while observing the interactions between another customer and the gentleman behind the counter. It was clear the customer was not well educated regarding his equipment and it was clear the employee took advantage of that. The employee was and older gentleman who looked and acted as though he belongs on an episode of Pawn Stars. He seemed polite enough despite my initial discomfort. My bow simply needed a new string installed, I knew this and I told him this. He proceeded to inspect my bow looking for cracks or bends and ultimately determining it would cost approximately $150 for a new string and installation. Thinking he hadnt thoroughly explained the extent of the work I asked several simple question and he quickly began to back pedal and ended up at a rough cost of $80. It was clear to me, having worked my share of dispicable retail jobs through college, this man is accustomed to gouging his customers on work. I began to fear that if i did leave my bow with him the ultimate cost of the work would far exceed what he had talked about. When I explained that I would like to consider some options before making a final decision he requested a $10 fee for his expert 10 min inspection. I declined. I am lifelong bowhunter. Never in my life have a had such a terrible taste in my mouth while pursuing this passion and persuit. This man stands on his alleged podium of being an expert in order to demean and intimidate those around him. Im disgusted plain and simple. It is true that positive customer experiences often go unreported, however; to go out of your way to leave in depth articulate negative reviews such as those I have read here, speaks volumes. I wish I had read the reviews first. If you are new or have little knowledge I fear greatly that you will be taken advantage of. I qualify my statements with 20 years of archery experience. I have worked on my own equipment during this period. I cannot make any statements regarding the quality of work this shop puts out. Fortunately I never spent a single dollar and I never will. For myself, the relationship and experience are a big part of spending my hard earned money. Thanks, but no thanks. UPDATE: Bass pro ordered the cable and installed for $40. Bow shoots great, papered it myself. Hey Lenny, you not only lost future business or word of mouth referral, you lost the $189 in sales of other random goodies I splurged on.

There are mixed reviews here but decided to give him a try since bass pro completely screwed my compound up minus the draw legnth and I bought it from them. I told him I was new to compound this year. I took it in for a tune since my broad and fields were shooting completely different and missed a 6 first day out. Everything i read said they can be tuned to be the same. He explained that the wisker biscuit can only be tuned close due to how they are designed and will still be off. (I read similar online) He showed me the drop rests ranging in price that he knows work well. I took closer to the bottom since I was new and didnt want to spend a lot if I dont like compound and go back to a cross bow. He changed the peep from the 3 point to a 2 explaining about the string blinding. (I hated the blind from the 3 point.) He checked everything from draw legnth, weight, and arrow legnth, weight. Bass pro lowered the draw too much and never checked it than had me buy arrows the wrong weight and cut a little too short. Macrotech increased the draw weight, installed the drop rest, and peep. Tuned it all up. Even checked it with a longer arrow and said bext round cut them 1/2 longer and it will be better. He made sure where the peep was to be with me in back then tied it off. He even showed me a few pointers about stance for hunting vs. target that made perfect sense. Now after sighting in today with the new parts/tune the field points went from softball grouping @20 yards to a tennis ball size. Broad heads hit the same place. @30. I am now softball grouping and the broad head is about the same maybe a tiny bit more. I have been shooting for a month. On the last thought since I was in retail and told this multiple times. Piss someone off and 1 out of 10 will complain. Do everything right and MAYBE 1 out of 100 with send a compliment. With that being said there are 7 reviews 1 & 2 stars. Thats 70 people pissed. There are 9 (now 10)reviews that are 4 or 5 stars. Thats atleast 1000 good. I was happy with him and will return for what I need if I continue with a bow.
