It seems that the people at the pastry counter are hired by how well they are able to ignore customers. I have been there 4 times so far and each time have been exquisitely ignored. Twice I have spoken to someone passing by about servive, and they subsequently went behind the counter; each time I waited another 10 minutes or so and no one waited on me or even seemed to acknowledge that I was there. They have a number of items that appear to be delicious, but I will never know, as I do not seem to be able to get anyones attention. I have had much better luck at the sandwich and deli counter, so I know that there is life there somewhere; however the pastry counter is a lost cause. In my opinion, it would be better if they took the counter away and just provided prepackaged items, and in that way you would not be under the mistaken impression that you might be able to get someone to pay attention to you there. Good store otherwise, but service at the pastry counter does not exist. If management wonders why there isnt much walk up business at that counter, maybe they should go there incognito sometime and try to get something. I would give negative stars for that if possible. From here on, I will find a bakery for my pastry requirements.

I give my experience a 5 star this time, but my last visit I purchased petit fours and they were not fresh. Also starting in March I was on a petit fours binge and my first two containers were not fresh. Then I went to ROUSES on Carrollton and purchased a container from there and they were so delicious and fresh. This upset me because all the ROUSES should have the same quality. I did purchase another from the Franklin store, my store, and they were fresh but that should be all the time. So maybe so many bakery goods should not be made at one time. I rather ROUSES being out of something than purchasing less than good quality food. But I love my ROUSES!

One of the managers at this location talked to my 6 year old son with an attitude and said put that ball back if youre not going to pay for it. Who says that to a small child?! How did he know if I was going to buy it?! I planned on it until he said that to my child. I put everything back and went to Wal-Mart which I hate, but Id rather go there than spend a penny at Rouses. I will NEVER visit any Rouses again because of the poor judgement that a manager has. That is ridiculous!!!!! I wish I could give them 0 stars.

Really a horrible rouses. One of the worst Ive been too. They have the highest prices for simple items! and the produce section is really sad looking. A lot of the produce I find is rotted already and the coolers are all falling apart so the floors are covered in taped down cardboard. Every time I check out the cashier is really rude and doesnt say hello or anything. I live right near this rouses but I will drive extra 15 minutes away to go to the Winn Dixie down on Carrollton.

The Rouses on Leon C. Simon in New Orleans is my favorite. They are always neat, clean and organized. The Produce, Deli, Pastry, Fresh Fruit, and Meat Departments are execellant. The store has a lot of new employees, however, the opportunity is with customer engagement especially in the Pastry Department. Please, dont forget you should hire friendly and smiling employees to continue your brand.

While checking out, the register oerator stopped working to chat with the bag girl about the flavor of ice cream I had selected. I said, "the ice cream is melting, can we move this along?" There was no more chat after that, but I got a large dose of snotty attitude as I walked away from the registered. If I hadnt had ice cream in my hand, I would have taken it up with a manager

Very poor customer service the manager David is very RUDE. IF THEY MESS UP A ORDER FOR YOU BE SURE TO HANDLE IT IN PERSON BECAUSE THE TELL YOU ANYTHING OVER THE PHONE. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS ROUSES TO NO ONE WHAT SO EVER VERY GHETTO. IF YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ROUSES CHOOSE ANOTHER one such as Carrollton location or the uptown locatin.

One of the better places to grocery shop in the area. Prices are a bit steeper than WalMart, but the simple fact its NOT WalMart justifies that! Helpful staff, including the guy who works in the beer/wine department. Produce is usually pretty fresh, and the store has always been clean when Im there.

Very friendly staff but the quality of the meat has gone down recently, while the prices have gone up. Also, I often have to wait for meat to be brought out in the morning. My son attends school nearby so I normally will stop around 8. Many times they have not put meat out yet.

Filthy. Rotten turkey on the salad bar and hair in the cucumbers. Produce looks like it should have been taken off the shelf days ago. Employees act as if youre bothering them if you need help. Shame because it used to be so much nicer, cleaner

One of the better, more spacious, well stocked Rouses in the area. Just near the Lakefront & U.N.O. this location has ample parking & a vast beer and wine selection as do the others. Friendly, knowledgeable staff make doing here a breeze.

Keitrell is such a sweetheart and very helpful. This store has good customer service. They need more organic and Whole Food/ Trader Joes type selections. They do have areas that have these types of products but the selection is limited.

Very tiny, decent selection, and they seem to close up the bakery, butcher, and seafood areas early. It may be only a mile from my house but Id rather just to to Mid City Rouses instead, or even the Gentilly Winn Dixie or Wal-Mart.

Dont know ever call to ask a question. The girl that answered the phone was VERY nasty and rude!!!! I thought that customer service was important. And with that call just now Ill pass on going to that store. 6600 Franklin Ave.

Small, poor produce, poor meat department, smelly seafood, all around dirty, plus randomly select closing hours so a trip to this particular grocery store might end up fruitless, regardless of their clearly marked hours.

Although I cannot find all of the products I like best at this location, it carries the majority of what I purchase weekly. The staff is friendly and are happy to assist you if you need help. Never hesitate to ask!

Not a very good rouses. The prepared food section which is something I like about rouses groceries, often has flys on and around the food. The grocery selection is ok, but smaller the other stores.

I prefer Rouses over most of the other grocery options around here. They have a larger selection of produce and carry lots of locally grown items. Their lunch hot items are pretty good too.
