If I could rate 0 stars, I would. Absolutely horrible place to eat. Bad food, bad service, and high price. BE WARY. 1. Demanded to be paid upfront... for a sitdown restaurant. Should have gotten the hint here. 2. Entrees state side+ salad. But then said that didnt apply, and demanded 2 sides. Was later "corrected", that we could have had a side-salad but pay more. No offer to fix this screwup. 3. When food arrived, my steak was medium rare, not rare. My wifes steak was swimming in grease, from gods knows what prep method. When pointed this out, they said "oh thats just butter".. Yet we both had steak. ABSOLUTELY NO CARE. 4. "Grilled" vegetables were soggy, like they were grilled and then like they were dipped in pond water for a few minutes. Overcooked, soggy, and Disgusting. Although the bacon brussel sprouts (fresh veg of the day) was pretty tasty. 5. It was completely glaringly obvious that they ONLY cared about the locals, and not travelers. And since they had our money (was foolish enough to think they might have some semblance of quality), they didnt care at all. 6. Had to go to front of the counter and set our drinks down to get any sort of service for water/coffee. Just absolutely horrid place. Go to fast food, or go to a grocery, or somewhere else. One of the worst places Ive been in a very long time.

Great service and tasty food !! Waitress was polite and made sure we had our drinks filled ,food was delicious !! My only negativity is that the menu could have more to choose from but if you like steak or chicken Id highly reccomend giving it a try

Pretty good food, okay service, the owner is a great guy. But other than that the chicken is really good, the mushrooms are good, the steak is very good, and they have some very good cakes. I will be returning to shades of brown cafe next weekend!!!

Great place to get a salad,coffee,steak dinner or just have coffee or a beer the prices cant be best especially on their steak dinners try them you will love it I sure do wonderful service friendly servers great atmosphere all the time I love it
