What a gem on The Avenue! Ive lived in Crescent Hill and surrounding area most of my life and I love the village-like feel. The Wine Rack adds such value and charm to this Avenue and the well thought out selection serves the community perfectly. I can essentially do a one-stop shop for wine, apps, dinner, bread, dessert, and a little something to sip après dinner! The wine, bourbon, and beer collection in particular are wonderful and John makes it a point to strive for a small footprint when selecting his inventory, when possible. There are multiple very boutique brands made within miles of his shop he offers in his store. This is why I shop at the Wine Rack! unlike some snob types who for some crazy reason need to know about wine distributors,which has nothing to do with knowledge about wine, I have had and continue to have nothing but the highest respect for The Wine Rack. Frankfort ave is a great spot for local owned "mom and pop" enterprises of which The Wine Rack is certainly one. I only drop by to buy soda drinks in the 2 Ltr. bottle but am treated as though I am the most important customer they have. If you dont want to live in a world with only Walmart type stores we need to support these local small business that give our neighborhoods their personality and charm.

An owner of a business that is a wine shop should at the very least hold some knowledge of Italian distributors. An owner of any business that serves the public should be more open minded with their potential patrons. It was my first (and most likely my last) time at this place. While the man who first served me seem to be somewhat knowledgeable the owner was extremely short and lacking any effort to genuinely try to order the product I was seeking. I suggest the Wine Market on Bardstown road. They are more helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.

John knows how to make buying a nice bottle of anything an experience instead of a transaction. His selection, space, location and atmosphere are inimitable! He is the type of owner who knows you by name within a couple of visits and will make recommendations regularly. Support local.! This place is the best!!

Hands down the best shop in Louisville for Whiskey and Wine. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, and prices are always fair. Its so much better to give your business to a locally owned shop, than to big box liquor stores who have no personal connection with their customers. Shop local, yall!

Located on historic Frankfort Ave, this small wine shop is friendly with great service and selection. They dont push anything on type of wine on you. Additionally, they do serve other alcoholic beverages such as whiskey (burbon anyone?) and beer.
