So I purchased a Home Styles Chesapeake king size bed (Home Styles being a brand/subsidiary of DMI Furniture) that shipped with the foot board left post missing its inset screws. Normally, this wouldnt have been an issue but with it being 3 days before Christmas and with family arriving in from out of town, we needed this fixed ASAP. The company was willing to 2 day air ship us the part after I complained and got a manager, which didnt help my present circumstance of guests arriving the next day. This was understandable but undesirable. Personally, Ive never talked with someone from a company who couldnt overnight something, but I need to take them at their word. What was not ok, with the manager above the customer service manager hanging up on me over the phone. This upset me enough to want to reach out to Home Styles parent company, DMI furnitures CEO, Patrick Bahil. To his credit, Patrick returned my call, but couldnt seem to understand my concerns, provide any sort of empathy, concern about their screw up, or a resolution beyond the 2 day shipment for the defective part. After having spent over $1,000 with this company, even though it sounds like they couldnt possibly have shipped this part any faster, the level of support and concern for customers was abysmally poor, even from their CEO. Also note Ive not mentioned anything to do with the quality of the actual product... which, while it looked great online, its construction left a lot to be desired and was unnecessarily difficult to put together. Personally, Id recommend finding another company to deal with that actually cares about their customers.
