I went there yesterday to get a nose piercing. I had already called on Thursday to check their prices and ask some questions about the process. When I arrived, the girl at the desk asked me to complete a wavier form and told me she would be doing the piercing. She then said she would go back to set up her room and would come out to get me. Myself and two friends waited for around 10 minutes (not too long) and when she came back she asked me if I wanted a hoop or stud, recommending the stud. This was the first red flag: Ive always heard that you should not put a hoop in a new nose piercing. She also told me that I would only be allowed to bring one of my two friends back to the piercing space because it was tiny, which seemed silly given that there were only three of us and everyone was coherent / responsible (read: not rowdy). I didnt want to leave one of them out, and I also didnt want to go back alone. After waiting for another 10 minutes (now getting a little too long), she came back out and again said I couldnt bring both friends, so one of them followed me back. When we got back to the piercing space it was HUGE. Granted there was one chair, but my other friend could have definitely stood and been out of the piercers way. This was the second red flag: she practically pulled me back into the space alone, which almost explains what happened next. What happened next sent me running out the door. As she started to get out the tools and put on gloves, she mentioned that the only studs they had were pink and teal, so if I didnt want those she would understand. I was pretty disappointed, but not about to have a colored stud in my nose for the next six months. The piercer recommended going to another shop, like Beelistics (in Clifton) because "they have a better piercing manager than me so they probably have it in stock." I realize that she was upset that she didnt have the most common stud, but she knew that after setting up the space the first time and could have told us then so we didnt wait even longer. Also, I dont think you should ever talk bad about coworkers to clients, no matter what. Im giving this place two stars only because it may have just been a bad day for the staff, not saying that excuses it, but everyone has a bad day. The silver lining is that this bad experience caused me to try a different place - Asylum Tattoo in Latonia which was amazing! They were friendly, professional, quick, and knowledgeable - everything that Mothers was not.

Went here to get 3 helix piercings. Dont remember exactly how much I paid, but it was a lot. A year later, my ear is still hurting and my middle piercing looked infected, so I called to get them changed, thinking a hoop would help the infection drain. I was sent to another tattoo parlor to get them taken out, since the piercer is currently out, and was absolutely astonished at what I learned from a more experienced piercer... The reason that my middle piercing was not healing and looked infected was because of 2 mistakes the piercer at Mothers did. 1) she put in curved bars. Apparently, helix piercings should be pierced originally straight. But 2) and more importantly, the piercer pierced my helix at a downward angle, causing the earring to constantly rub and to not heal. If I kept the earring in, it would never be able to heal. Now, I have a huge abcess on both the front and back of that particular hole and a smaller one on another piercing that was also pierced at an angle with a curved bar. Not only do I have abcesses, but I had to take that piercing out, let it completely heal and close up, then get it re-done if I want a piercing in that spot. It will also probably grow back as scar tissue, which will create different issues if I choose to get it re-pierced. While I originally thought this place was a good place to get piercings done because the piercer was really cool and gave me a slight discount for doing 3 at one time, I now have to do what I was originally trying to avoid: wait for a piercing/hole to heal for months before I can get another piercing. I wanted 3 helix piercings, not 1 or 2. I give them 2/5 stars, because 1 of my piercings was done correctly and not at an angle, 1 piercing was done at an angle but is not as bad and can heal, but 1 piercing now has to get redone, which means wait time and more money. 4/10 would not recommend for piercings.

Around 3 weeks ago, I went with my friend to get my Industrial pierced. When I walked in, the piercer was very nice and explained to us the procedures and prices. My Industrial was 70$ which I think is outrageous and I hear that other places wont charge over 50$ for this piercing. But I decided to go through with it anyway because I really want this piercing. After getting it pierced and going home, i was in a lot of pain which i expected. After a couple of days I found that my swelling of my ear was pressing against the balls of the metal and I figured thats why I was in so much pain. So I went back to Mothers and it turns out the piercer put too short of a bar in my ear, so she had to take the piercing out of my ear and put a longer bar in, which was excruciatingly painful. Now two weeks later, I see that there is skin growing over the bar of my piercing and the bar is pushing and cutting into the skin of my ear. (I clean my piercing with wound wash twice a day by the way) After researching why this is happening, it turns out the piercer put the piercing in a very bad spot on my ear and that is why it is cutting into my ear, which can lead to permanent scarring. After hearing this, I decided to remove the piercing. Do not go to Mothers for piercing because of the inexperience, procedures, and prices.

If youre going here for piercings DONT. Ive gotten two piercings here myself: Septum and Labret. Both theyve managed to mess up. When she was piercing my septum she got the needle all the way through, dropped it through the other side, picked it up and pierced me again. Then when going back to get them to change my jewelry she got smart with me. My labret was just recently pierced November of 2013. This past week Ive noticed skin starting to grow over the back plate of the labret. I decided id go this weekend (today) to see whats wrong. After talking to other professional piercers they all told me she either pierced it wrong or she put too short of a bar in it. So my choices now are to go there today and see if theyll take it out or get it surgically cut out. DONT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGS. Please take your money and go somewhere else because youll just have problems if you go here. Any Beelistic Tattoo and Piercing shop has a great piercing staff! They have 3 different locations so check them out!
