I love this place! I cant believe it took me this long to stop by! When I first walked in with my friend, there was about 5 other tables being occupied. 2 people were working on their laptops, while a group of possibly high school (maybe college) students were playing board games. My friend and I opted for the more fun option of getting lattes and picking one of the many board game options available (we picked Scattergories). The latte isnt just a great piece of art though. My vanilla latte was great! I went for a 16oz, which is a size not available at my other "regular" cafes. Yeah I know, right?! And thanks to my Yelp check-in, it was 25% off! Theres also a drive-thru option so if you dont have the time to sit and relax, you can get your lattes (or whatever your drink preference is) on your way to work. Hey, at the very least, youll be able to make your Mondays just THAT much easier/brighter.

not really a review guy, but didnt know much about this place and Park Ridge is a "dead zone" for good coffee, so figured id give it a shot as it wasnt too far. i love La Colombe roasts as wells so i was excited to see they were serving them. the black coffee i got was terrible, tasted old, and the latte my wife got was some watery sugary. unfortunately i got these to go or id have mentioned it in person. Im NOT a complainer, i hate "rocking the boat" by making a fuss anywhere, but im not sure if ive had worse coffee before. I drink everything form the aeropress, chemex, v60 variety that i make down to k-cups and mcdonalds and at least those i CAN drink if i need the caffeine. these got tossed. sorry for such a long and negative review, but something needs to change in the process of great beans to finished product.

A few weeks ago, I was offered a position, by the owner of this coffee shop. José the owner, seemed very uninvolved with the business from the start. On my "first day of training" one the employees said he would not train me that day, because all new employees got sent out to train. Its been several weeks since the awkward and UNPAID hour of training and I have not heard back from José or the "manager" of the shop. My advice to anyone who has applied there or is waiting to hear back from them, dont hold your breath. Move on & find abother job! From what I hear from the employees the lack of management is a consistent problem for the business and people who work there.

The bubble tea was lighter tasting than other places but really great still. The order was slightly delayed because they didnt have the boba ready and they gave me a complimentary muffin just for waiting for 10 minutes for their boba to be prepared. They care about their customers and this is a great place to relax and have a mug of coffee.

The Mug is a great local cafe with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The interior is inviting and a perfect ambiance to meet up with friends. Its quiet and many people come here to study. The coffee is very good; I recommend the cortado! They serve La Colombe coffee and they know how to do it right.

Went in looking for a decent cup of black coffee. When I asked about their dark roasts, I was told "well, theres one thats sort of red." Figuring the kid working the register might have been new, I tried it anyways. If youre looking for a pricey cup of brown, flavorless water, this place is for you.

Love this place. It looks like breaking bad in there with the beakers and tubes--just kidding. But it really does look like a science experiment when theyre making cold brew. I personally love their nitro cold brew, which is injected with nitrogen gas to amplify flavor, similar to beer.

Love the relaxing vibe, un-Starbucks noise, and way better coffee with hand-designed foam atop my lattes. Have scheduled four meetings here and I can actually hear the other persons. Staff is warm and friendly. I highly recommend The Mug over any other coffee shop or meeting spot.

Not as bad as I thought it was going to be, the drive-thru sign is taped up and all kinds of sketchy looking. Hard to mess up a cup of coffee, the staff was very friendly.
