Unfortunately, my experience with the lumber yard was absolutely horrible. On Saturday, December 20, 2014 at about 8:30 am, I went to browse for cinder blocks for a project I am completing in my home. It took about 20 minutes for me to make my decision on what type of cinder blocks I wanted. Once I made the selection, I went into the store and spoke with a representative, who assisted me quickly. However, once the order was paid for, I entered the lumber yard to retrieve my order and waited 45 minutes for the order to be fulfilled. After that time passed and my terrible headache, I drove my car out of the lumber yard and went back into the store to get a refund. I spoke to a customer service representative who beckoned her supervisor who was dismissing the wait time I had just sat thru by stating on her walkie-talkie that "I have a customer who waited 15-20 minutes" to which I corrected her by stating 45 minutes. My receipt was stamped and printed at 8:59am. By this time, it was 5 minutes to 10am. I explained how I just wanted to get my money back so I could go down the street to Home Depot as their customer service, in my experience has been impeccable. She then stated if she were to have a lumber yard employee out by where I needed by the time I drove my car back there for the SECOND time, would I still want the cinder blocks. I informed her that if I had to wait any longer, I will return for a full refund. She then got back on the walkie-talkie and stated that a representative would be there. Once I drove my car for the SECOND time into the lumber yard, I waited approximately another 6 minutes until the fork lift driver came flying out of the storage area. Once the person driving the fork lift arrived, he asked me how my day was going....to which I just looked at him with a stare of anger. He apologized and stated that they were working with special orders and contractors at the time while I waited for a representative. The forklift operator was the only person who sincerely apologized. The supervisor gave a completely dry apology and to me did not seem sincere. To make matters worse, the person who was sitting in the guard shack for the lumber yard was eating a sandwich---not saying that you cant take a break but when see a car driving to your station, get up! I understand that there are contractors and special orders that are received on a daily basis, but I was only looking for 6 cinder blocks! My overall experience has further confirmed my confidence in Home Depot. I will NEVER return to Menards in Homewood for any lumber/bricks/blocks that I may need for future home projects no matter if Menards is cheaper than Home Depot. I feel that customer service supersedes any prices and continues to make lasting impressions for good and bad experiences.

Extremely disappointed. Went to purchase 15 gallons of paint, asked in advance if they provide military discount. Was told yes by an employee. Got paint mixed and went to pay and asked the cashier to please apply the military discount. She couldnt find the code and asked another cashier and was informed there wasnt a discount for military. So a manager came over and informed us the same thing and would not provide discount after being told by 2 employees that it was offered.

Its just another customer unfriendly store where you end up spending half the day looking for stuff. If you need so pop in and out for something forget it go to Home Depot instead. I needed some lumber and had to go from one end of the store to the other diagonally just to find what I wanted and then way over to the other side for something else. I got fed up and went elsewhere I dont have time for this!

The staff was very courteous very knowledgeable of where everything is in the store very professional from one sintering the store and leaving the store from the registers outstanding job its like a full experience when you go in there its nice to be treated like a patriot far as Im concerned it was an excellent and Beyond excellent experience keep up the good work Menard

Was disappointed the Gazebo I wanted was out of the Homewood Store and all the other locations. I have to see if I could order it online. Plus it was on sale for $199 sale ended as of Sunday June 4, the Homewood Store is having a store wide Grand Opening Sale and The Gazebo had went up to $249 on Monday June 5. I pray that I can order it online.

New store and you can tell. Huge place with tons and tons of stuff. A DIY persons dream. I did a return here for an item I bought at the Dolton store. Very friendly staff. I got in and out quickly. Given a choice, Id shop at this store vs. the Dolton store.

The only thing i see wrong is, the service after you purchase your items,leave the store and ask for some assistance to help load said items into your vehicle, and the store employees are reluctant in lending a helping hand.
