Im disappointed that I have to write this review, but I have to share since this is one of the worst customer service experiences Ive ever had. I used to be a loyal Mexican Shop customer, but a sterling silver necklace I bought there broke, and when I went back into the store with it, they were unwilling to do anything about it. The associate just explained to me that they dont guarantee any of their merchandise against breakage and that "the tiniest tug" would break a sterling silver necklace like mine. This patronizing attitude is beyond rude, and the Mexican Shop shouldnt be carrying garbage they know will break. My advice: stay away from any jewelry costing more than $20 and know that what you buy there will not last.

I always stop by the Mexican Shop when Im in Evanston and load up on gifts for birthdays and holidays. I just bought a spectacular angelite pendant on a long silver chain for my mother in law and she is wild about it. And for a friend who has a birthday this weekend I got a pair of je taime ankle socks and a super cool leather sunglasses case. You wont find these items in other stores--which is what makes this store such a find.

My first time here & I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable & trendy this place is! Its like a hidden little gem! Clothing wise, Id put it in the $30-40 range, on sale $15-30, very trendy (tons of long A-line skirts with matching crop tops) & boho. Tons of delicate boho accessories (jewelry, sunglasses & handbags) & cute gifts (spotted some home decor & dishes!).

Always different and uniquely cool The staff are cool, funny , and totally helpful. I have been shopping here since the 70s, never have been disappointed with quality. Its fun just to hang in the shop- truly the Nirvana of shopping.
