I love cracker barrel, the service is usually sketchy but I come mostly on Sundays and its always busy, so I definitely take note when a waitress or waiter is giving excellent customer service despite the multiple attitudes, negative and positive, that comes with an impatient and hungry crowd. I say that to say the customer service was great today, maybe new management but it was definitely comfy and welcoming. The coffee is always bland, weak, watery, and horrible, but I learned to get my cup up the street from Dunkin Donuts lol. I only reccomend the chicken fried chicken breakfast or the dinner, you can never go wrong with chicken. For our sides we ordered the fried apples, grits, I had overhard eggs, he had plain hash browns because the casserole is not something we think is edible, two seasonal fruit cups, 2 blueberry pancakes, 2 biscuits, and 2 peices of white toast. Everything was delicious, with the exception of the horrible, bland, pork included gravy for the chicken, that is for the side as well. The coffee always takes away a star for me because I expect breakfast restaraunts to hold their coffee (the morning fix for most of us) to a certain standard, one of great robust flavors that just make you wanna shout. The seating was horrible, we were placed in between one big family and couple, the couple was close to us and the family was as well. Anyways I love this place, the small exceptions are made up with good food and a good atmosphere. I give it a 3 out of five for good food, good atmosphere, todays service and the water. The lack of good coffee, bad seating, and the shifty customer service stops this place from reaching a full 5.

Food was good, however the service and attention to detail was not. Restaurant was busy, which does result in a delay in getting seated and all of that. However it took 15 minutes for us to be greeted by the waiter, who quickly brought drinks and took orders. However we asked for some biscuits to be brought before the food, and mentioned it several times, and he kept assuring us they were coming. We did not get them till the food arrived. Additionally the waiter brought over pitchers to serve the table with. However, would not allow us to pour from them and insisted on reaching over people and food to pour. The last Iced Tea I received was steaming hot from the pitcher. I requested a glass of ice, which was brought out. However the moment the tea was poured over the ice, it changes colors and consistency, looking more like chocolate milk then anything. The waiter did not return past this point. We also had to fight a bit over two of the salads the table had ordered, as he had brought the wrong items and was not sure if we had ordered wrong or not. We hadnt. Overall the food was good, the service was poor and waiter over worked and stressed, resulting in worse service.

Got a big group dont come here. Wait time to long. Instead of putting tables together made us wait on a large table. Then food was cold. Rockford has a better one,! Why does it take over a hour to sit a group of black people and another hour and half to serve food. They had plenty of tables available where two could be been put together like Rockford does.. And for everyone concern 411 Im white but rest of my group wasnt.. And there was only 5 adult and three kids.. And the table they sat us had people who had not long came in before us.. Made us waited til they were done eating to sit us there. Also did not even take our drink orders like normal restaurants do! It anger me when they had plenty of tables empty. And others were served food that came in after us.. So draw your own thoughts on this!

I called in a carry out Breakfast order, and was informed it should take 15 mins! It was a weekday(Friday) around 10 a.m. I got there in about 20 mins and still had to wait another 10 to 15 mins after paying for my order! I get to work and realize I had Gravy but no buscuits, and my hashbrown caserole was badly burned it was hard on the top! I called and spoke with a manager she informed me to come back asap and they will give me buscuits and a new caserole! Roflmao Smdh! Youre going to have to replace this whole meal sweetheart! She seemed shocked when I made the request, but angrily agreed but Im not interested in going back! Used to be my favorite breakfast spot for Steak and Eggs wish they never closed the Matteson location, cus this place is horrible!!

Horrible experience!!! When we first got there before we ordered our waiter informed that they were out of wild rice and meatloaf. We ordered, I asked for a baked sweet potato, she then added that they were out of baked sweet potatoes. When we finally got our food 20 minutes later I was told the macaroni and cheese that I ordered would take an additional 15 minutes to come out, when it did come out 15 minutes later it was cold. Our food was thrown across the plates. The cornbread muffins were hard. Our waiter continuously cut us off while we were ordering to assist other customers. We asked for a manager and he never came out. Our experience here was a dissatisfaction and we will never go back.

Was traveling with family, and was seated about 20 minutes after we registered for a table of 12 and was seated. It took us about 15 minutes to order and they were out of what we wanted to order so we had to reassess our stomach cravings and order something else and when the food arrived they gave each of us the wrong orders so that cause another baddd taste in our stomachs. When we got ready to leave and asked for our ticket there was another confusion, they put wrong orders on wrong tickets. Will not be going there again.

Absolutely awful food for the price. The burger patty was so thin and hard I think Patrick Kane could score a slapshot with it. The gravy on the country fried steak was old and had formed into an amorphous solid. The biscuits being the one thing someone would have to try and screw up were pretty stale and crumbly. If you want some homestyle food go to your local generic grocery store such as Aldi and get the same quality food for half the price. I guess homestyle cooking is best left to be handled by mom...

We love Cracker Barrel, whenever we are doing a road trip in the Midwest we like to stop by for the eggs and pancakes. The are the best pancakes in the world, better than Walker Brothers on the North shore of Chicago. However, The service at this location is much slower and less friendly than most, my bacon looks tiny, tasted dry. Hopefully the manager can shape up this place. However the pancake was was good as any.

first, the place was empty and we had to wait over 30 minutes to get our food, after we ordered i asked for a straw and after 10 minutes, i had to go and find a different waitress to get me a straw, and Rebecca was a horrible waitress gave me dirty look and crusty lettuce, Then snached things from me. and talked back, im very dissapointed. never coming back
