The staff is very unfriendly, the eye exam is rushed, and after making a purchase there is no more customer service. They also give you the prescription you paid for very grudgingly and make you come back several times to get it. When my purchase arrived and I told them Id pick them up the next day, the staff was on an hour long break (in the mid-afternoon, i.e. not during the usual lunchtime breaks). A few times I was there, the staff was trying to up sell the other customers and just explaining the "discounts" in the in-your-face kind of manner. Probably the only good thing going for it is its location, as it is convenient for students but its a pity anyone has to go here. I would recommend other area opticians but I dont want to give the impression that Im writing a fake review (which btw I think the 5 star one below seems to be). But do get your exams elsewhere, and nowadays you can order glasses online at a tiny fraction of what these people will set you back for...(again I wont name names because I am not here to advertise anyone). Btw all of the negative experiences listed above stem from a single exam/glasses purchase, indeed I would never do business here again.

This is an outstanding place and its time to give it credit. I have been going here for years, from when they were one block north on Sherman. For the most part, my experiences have been fine -- nothing extraordinary, just good solid service. Around six months ago, I needed a screw. The old one had fallen out. The staff must have spent 20 minutes trying to find the right screw. Zero charge for this repair for a faithful customer. On my most recent visit I ordered three new pair of glasses and there were issues, partly of my making, that required some special service and accommodation, and the staff were understanding and helpful. I have also got contacts there, and again they were very helpful. I think they have rotating optometrists, but the one I had was super. I feel lucky to have such a store in downtown Evanston.

I have bought 6 frames at this store and have been buying contact lenses from them for over 4 years. The selection of frames is wonderful and prices fit the frames perfectly. In 2013 I couldnt afford an expensive frame due to my low budget and I got a BEAUTIFUL frame for under $75. I brought all my friends here and they accepted ALL of the insurances. Groupon is easy to use and all the policies are listed so there is no confusion. The staff is WONDERFUL and devotes all attention to the costumers. They reason with patients and are very patient. I also did a contact lens fitting and it took me over an hour but the amazing woman who was assisting me was patient and SUPER kind. I recommend everyone come to this store for glasses, prescription, contact lenses, appointments, and adjustments.

The Doctor is nice enough and seems to be caring, but the receptionists at this location and the Main Street location are not at all customer service oriented. It is hard for me to spend my money where I am made to feel like I had done something wrong (in person and on the phone) by the poeple I thought would want to help me. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I will no longer be a customer/patient here.

Loved the atmosphere! Doctor and staff went above and beyond my expectations! By far the best selection of frames in the area! Plus is the awesome customer service you get there--their optical people were totally helpful & knowledgeable. Visualeyes TOO I am your customer for life!

Great Selection of Frames! Love my glasses: I Love my new look. The optician was very helpful in picking out the right glasses. I have the no line bifocals and I can see everything now. You will love the customer service here. Visualeyes TOO is THE BEST!!!

The receptionist is very rude and unfriendly. I walked in to ask a question and unless I was buying a pair of glasses or making an Apt she wouldnt assist me and the prices are out of control. If you can find somewhere else to go!!

Extremely unfriendly staff and optometrist - the only thing they try to do is sell you more glasses/lenses. The fitting exam is very rushed. Overall an extremely unprofessional and low-quality establishment
