If I could give them zero stars I would, but unfortunately that is not possible. I was told payment was due, and when I gave them my debit card they said it wouldnt process (not due to lack of funds). I then went to the ATM to take money out to make the payment. When I did, my card was cancelled because Chicago Pawn Brokers system had rendered my card "stolen," so it was therefore cancelled by the bank. I told the pawn shop I would pay as soon as the other card came. When it came, they had already sold my items. Bottom line: They do not operate in good faith. They care about getting and selling your items, not about collecting interest (which is surprising). If you want or need a quick buck (under $500...they have to go through a lengthy process of approval for anything over), then by all means roll the dice. But DEFINITELY do not expect to see your item(s) again.

Travel to this place if you need to. I was giddy after the amazing experience that I had- you cannot find a more honest, classy group of people- I have such wonderful feedback I feel like I sound like a cheesy ad- but this was actually the first time I sold jewelry, and I chose them because they were near my workplace and had great reviews. When I told people how much I got for my items- they were wowed- no they dont give you more than its worth- they are smart and they know their jewelry- but they are so darn honest. They gave me not a penny less than was proper. I am going back next week with a few things from family members! From now on, I will never allow anyone to speak poorly of pawn brokers. PAYS TOP DOLLAR FOR GOLD!! This place is great. Great customer service and even better offers for your jewelry. They have a big location and it is perfect if you are trying to sell scrap or broken jewelry pieces as well as diamonds and gold watches. This is a legit, licenced pawn shop so you are in good hands. They also pro-rate their loans so you only have to pay interest on the days that your items are pawned as opposed to being obligated to pay the full 30 day charge. I strongly recommend going to Chicago Pawn Broker if you are looking to get the most money for your gold.

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this Pawn shop. The place is neat, clean and the people in charge are really kind and friendly. I needed to pawn some gold and diamond jewelry and sold them some old gold I had stashed. I was really content doing business with this Pawn shop. I really highly recommend you to check this pawn shop you are treated with respect and you leave feeling like you have dealt with good honest people. I was seriously expecting more for my silver bracelets ($10 and ounce). Its a small little shop or, more like a stand or somthing in a suite. Its very small with only one or two chairs. There is one guy at the stand there that didnt seem very concerned. They only want gold and watches. So if you have pearls or swarovski crystals you basically get nothing. I couldnt sell them everything I wanted to sell and honesty, I feel somewhat cheated. Never again will I go here, I didnt feel welcomed at all. Make sure to bring your state I.d.
