The easiest way to describe this place is to call it a polished turd. Opened almost two years ago and opened with a pretty good deal of promise (anyone who visited the old Kroger knows exactly what Im talking about). Seemed like not only did they have a really nice, clean location but also seems as though they got rid of the majority of their terrible staff. They were rude, unfriendly, not helpful and not at all capable of being in the customer service industry but I digress. Like I said this new store seemed too good to be true, and it took about six months for this place to do a total 180. The same lackadaisical staff reappeared, and management seems to be totally indifferent. The same sh*tty customer service is back, the same lack of helpfulness, all of it. The store is already looking tired and run down like no one is bothering to maintain it. The parking lot resembles something more like a garbage dump with crap everywhere and no one ever seems to clean it (you could probably blame the property manager on that but it still reflects very poorly on the store). The quality is just amiss 100% in everyway. And then theres the nightshift..... I work until 12:30 am and often times find myself needing one or two things and will stop in with it being 24hrs. Hope you bring a gun (I do) because theres this overwhelming feeling that youll be mugged walking in that late. Sketchy looking people in the parking lot and sitting in and sometimes sleeping in their cars like theyre casing the place or patrons to rob. And then theres the scary looking staff who look like anything between a faces of meth mugshot to Easy-E, again with no professionalism whatsoever. I guess the company doesnt have any kind of appearance or grooming standards. They will pull pallets of crap out and literally block whole isles and when if they see someone coming or possibly needing something that the caravan of pallets might be blocking there isnt even the slightest inclination to move it to help. And then once youre done hoping you dont get robbed or shanked you get to go to the self checkout. The lady who runs it is unequivocally the most rude person Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with in customer service. The self checkout system is in constant need of oversight and as a cashier has to often check IDs if someone is buying beer or if something doesnt scan it gets sent to the little handheld device and so she can assist. To which she promptly ignores it leading the customer to have to approach her for assistance. Look on her face in more than enough to convey her disdain for the people that keep her employed. Rolls her eyes, sighs heavily as if you making her do her job is really a total inconvenience and generally make you feel uncomfortable. And once youre done bothering her and complete your transaction dont expect a thank you or have a good evening or please comeback.... Nothing. No effort to thank any customer at any level. There wont be a next time for me, Im done giving this place my business. This place is crap. Like I said at the beginning of this review its a polished turd. It may be in a nice new location but it is on the fast track to becoming the old store. Do yourself and go to Publix or Costco, where they still believe in quality and above all, that the customer (the people that make sure theyre employed) come first. On a scale of one to ten this place is hot garbage, complete and total crap.

Im writing this post because I do not have an opportunity to speak with management myself. So, I have to resort to social media and spread Kroger business openly. My name is Waneda and I have been removed from Kroger at 3240 S Cobb in Smyrna Ga for no reason. Kim, one of your employees have been lying to management for quite some time. Apparently she has told management that I am a thief, but yet, no merchandise has ever been found on me. Nor, have I been seen on surveillence or any such thing. She finally got her Supervisor friend Rose to call and assist the police while she stood behind her and watched. Kim works the night shift. She has colorful long hair. Everytime I see her she has on a backwards hat. This whole incident stems from a few months ago. I asked her nicely if I could dress alone. I was putting on my clothes in the womens restroom and she stood watching me. I asked her if I could have privacy. Obviously, this upset her. I do not live her lifestyle and would never condone it for myself. Also, I am not her judge, nor am I anyone elses judge for the lifestyle they live. I HAVE ALWAYS treated Kim with an underserved respect. It is underserved respect because her actions since that day have been very, very disrespectful. You dont press your lifestyle on people. That is not fair. If I was sitting outside under the umbrella, I noticed her watching me on different occasions. She would sit in the window and watch me. She freaked me out so bad one time I stood out of her sight with my back to the wall. This present day she had me removed by the police from the store and I am NO THIEF!!! I have never even been arrested, photographed or fingerprinted... I wont even taste the grapes in the produce area unless im interested in buying them because I would feel guilty. This is who I am. After she had me removed I noticed her following me for about a week. I no longer have that problem. But, shes made her presence known twice since that time. I have enjoyed thoroughly my family at Kroger: Bruce my boy with the gift of Subsandwich preperation; Virgil at checkout, Always joyful and with a smile; Ms. Gloria (Ms. Glo) The Chef whose Turkey and Gravy is off the CHAINZ (Hint, Hint Kroger); Bri, Ms. Serious, All the time... She know her job; Ms. Marie, whose samples in the back on sample row has her own special touch added; Ms. Martha, she just down right cool... #RealTalk Lol; The Cookie Girl, she always got watchu need back there in Bakery. Her and I got the same sweet tooth in common...

I keep giving this store "another chance" because once in a while they have it together and it is a pleasant experience. That only seems to happen when Managers are visiting. This morning I just need a few basic things….Spinach, a lemon, bananas, salmon, yogurt, dish detergent. Easy right? Wrong! As usual I walk into the produce section which is empty (?) I found 1 bag of spinach which looked a little wilty but thought I could rescue it. There were NO bananas. There was a cart with boxes of bananas but no one putting them out. Not to mention I have never stepped into a grocery store that was completely out of bananas except for this Kroger and all of the time! I opened a box and helped myself to green bananas. From there I bought 2 pieces of questionable salmon for $12. In the past I could at lease count on fresh fish but recently have had issues with getting any tilapia or problems with the freshness. :( From there I went for the yogurt only to find more empty shelves! Seriously???? I found dish detergent and went to the self checkout because the lines were moving like molasses. When I cooked my $12. salmon with the spinach and lemon I was so totally pissed off to cut into it to find dry meat full of bones! I wound up having a bowl of soup. I have never left a review before because I though maybe they would get it together. I honestly think it may be worse than the last location. This is the closest grocery store to me and was so excited to not have to drive further to go to Publix but at this point I would walk the extra distance to Publix not to EVER set foot in this store again. Management should be ashamed of themselves for allowing what has the potential to be a successful store go down the tubes like that! I also am tired of having to pass carts full of returns at the front of the store as I am leaving. Just Gross!
