TL;DR - Terrible product organization and short tempered + rude owner. Only go if you know exactly what youre looking for without requiring assistance. I visited Fine Fabrics to purchase an assortment of threads for my wifes business. While we were walking around the store, we noticed that all the brands and colors were mixed up and unorganized. We were originally completely ignored when we asked the employees for some assistance. They then later referred to a catalog, but made no effort to look for it. While we were asking questions to the employees, the owner comes up and directly tells the employees in Korean, "Dont worry about these people. We are not in the business of just selling threads." When he said "these people", I am not sure if he meant us Koreans (because he did speak in Korean when referring to us), or people buying thread, or maybe both. Neither should matter since we were at their establishment to buy their products. This confirmed my belief that this business does not hold high value for customer service. How can I expect good service from this business and their staff when the owner sets such low standards? We left without purchasing anything even though we went with the intention of buying over 200 cones of assorted thread. I am a believer in supporting local small businesses as my wife has one of her own, but this experience has left me thinking maybe big retailers are the way to go. At least I dont leave the store completely confused by the way were treated and by the complete disarray of product display. There is nothing "fine" about Fine Fabrics when concerning customer service.

Huge selection of fashion fabrics, and lots of decor fabrics. Billions of buttons, millions of zippers and threads, lots of random trims, and some notions. There are also lots of ornate laces and fancy fabrics, some batiks, tons of synthetics, and lots of craft fabrics. There are some sewing spaces and industrial machines that appear to be for sale. Contrary to another review, the silks, woolens and linens are natural fiber; I did the burn test on a few pieces to make sure. That said, it is good to know your fabrics because some of the pieces in the woolens aisle appear to be blends. It is salvage, so dont expect to see labeling for fabric content or washing instructions. Do expect extra wide rolls, and prices from $4-10 per yard, even for silks and wools. The new warehouse space has good climate control, and somewhat better signage. The folks there have always been very friendly, and are downright gracious when I bring my elderly Mom. Lots of folks to help, and the guys at the cutting tables will pull out the heavy rolls for you. Has the feel of a salvage store in that there is not a regular stock on hand, but you never know what will be in the next shipment. Id guess that the stock comes largely from overages in the Asian manufacturing market. As a fabric salvage store, it deserves 5 stars; as an overall fabric store, 4, only because it lacks a regular stock with full range of color varieties. Overall, it is my go to fabric store for regular fabric shopping, treasure hunting, and bargains.

PRICE EXAMPLES INCLUDED IN THIS REVIEW: This is the place to go if you are looking for a HUGE selection at really good prices. The selection is overwhelming (in a good way) and really clean for a warehouse-type store. Lots of knits and silks. Almost all apparel fabric (very little home decor). Nicely arranged by fabric type. ITY knits together, ponte knits together, silk together, special occassion together...you get the drift. A fantastic assortment of African wax prints too. They have a TON of zippers, buttons, threads, and other supplies. I even got some really cute belts. Example of prices (as of spring 2017): Most knits were $4.99-$5.99/ yard. African prints were $5.99/yard I think. In fact, most stuff was around $5-6/yd. Silks (nearly all woven) were $9.99/yard. Sequins and wool Im not sure about, but they do have them. Prices on zippers and buttons were excellent. If you only have time to stop at one fabric store, this would be my recommendation.

This is a fabric salvage/outlet store, so set your expectations accordingly. There are a lot of great fabrics here at rock-bottom prices, if you have the time and patience to comb through the stock. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. Bolts are piled up on-end, warehouse-style, unlabeled, sometimes without a listed price. In a lot of cases, the content of the fabric doesnt correspond to the labeling on the aisle (I found a lot of poly crepe on the linen aisle and acrylic/nylon blends in the wools, for example.) Fabric stores in general can be rough if youre sensitive to chemical fumes, and this place is no exception. I probably wouldnt want to come here with young children. I went in looking for silk tussah/matka and was disappointed that the overwhelming majority of their current stock was treated with upholstery backing. But I walked out with a silk broadcloth and a mohair for $10/yard each, an incredible deal.

If I could put a quarter of a star I would. Went here because i was tols they were great and had the cheapest prices so i wnet and had the worst costumer service ever! Staff was very rude and disrespectful. Said to get in line to wait your turn and then started taking people randomly that were in line behind me. Walked away for a couple of minutes talking to other co-workers about nothing then comes back and starts helping other people that werent even in line. Then they decide to help me. Seems like you have to be a regular repeat customer to get good customer service at this place. Well I guess as they say "You get what you pay for!". I wont ever go back there again! Stay away from these rude obnoxious individuals and go elsewhere. I will go somewhere else and pay more for helpful and pleasant service.

A-MAZING!!!!! I stumbled upon this store from the signs on I-85 a couple years back at their old location. I was driving to another fabric store (I never made it to that OTHER store). I was WOWED AND WOED on my 1st visit! None of my sewing buddies nor myself had ever heard of Fine Fabrics. I immediately became "HOOKED"!!!! This new location is "UNSPEAKABLE"!! I am so happy for this great find. Its a the great fabric treasure hunt!! Right now, i am planning my day to spend at least 2 hours there tomorrow. I cant WAIT!!!!! The staff is soooo AWESOME!!!! And the lady at the cash register ALWAYS knows your face and speaks to you everytime!!
