I gave 1 star because I had to and .5 wasnt an option. Correct me if Im wrong BUT, I would think the "door greeter" at Walmart is there to maybe, I dont know.........greet people.....not this one.....standing at the door staring off into space with your arms crossed is not exactly welcoming. I so badly want to see changes taking place at this store but, the only changes seem to be for the worse. If they do happen to slip up and hire a decent, willing to help, friendly person it isnt long until they run them off. The lazy slackers with a bad attitude and zero people skills get promoted and the decent ones never do. I guess someone has to stay at the bottom of the "ladder" to do the dirty work and step in to cover when the "promoted" lays out or calls in every week. One of the young men that works mainly up front when Ive been in since before Christmas is one of the very few to go above and beyond to help. He always has a smile on his face, hes always been super friendly to me and my family. Not once has he ever not helped when asked regardless of "whos department" it is. If I need anything and he is working I go to him. Hes always helped in any way he can. In a recent visit I stood at the dressing room for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for someone to open the door so my son could try on pants. I saw a lady and she saw me, several times, but she never asked if I needed anything. Never offered to call someone. Nothing. I assumed she had just gotten off work or was on break. If an employee is on break/off the clock then, thats their time and I wont bother them while theyre on break or off the clock. I finally called the store from my cell, explained wed been waiting 10 to 15 minutes and asked if they could page someone. The girl at customer service was extremely nice and she paged someone to the dressing rooms as soon as she hung up the phone. Round the corner comes the lady that had been over there the entire time. But, she didnt unlock the dressing room. She stood there talking to another employee about things that had absolutely nothing to do with Walmart. After waiting another maybe 3 to 4 minutes while they finished their conversation another lady finally came along and unlocked the dressing room. I debated trying to speak with a manager about this until I realized the person she was having a personal, silly, giggly conversation with just happened to be a manager or assistant manager. She saw me standing there as well so, at that point I said forget it. I had to go to the service desk for something different and its the same thing there. One of the younger girls that works at the cust service desk will just walk off while theres a line into the store. Not say a word. Just walk off to go talk to people and visit. She did it again yesterday while I was waiting in line to swap something. I asked the other girl working the register if thats a normal for her because shes done it prob 2 to 3 of the 5 times Ive paid attention. The girl said it happens all the time. In my honest opinion I think Walmart should consider putting a secret shopper type person in place. Someone not biased or jaded to this being the norm to come in and really take notes and clean house. Walmart used to be my absolute favorite store in every town. Now....I despise having to go. If I can avoid it, I will. Even if it means going further mileage wise and or paying more. Walmart used to be at the top of my favs now its like right below cleaning out the kitty litter.

Girls in the front of store are incredibly lazy and discourteous. The one large white pharmacy worker is the slowest person I have ever seen employed anywhere. An elderly woman was furious with his snail like pace and let him know. But that made him move slower intentionally. Shelves are not stocked at times. Would rather drive to a dollar store or similar store for what I need. When Walmart was closing stores I had hoped this would be one and a different chain would replace it. Management must not care.

Terrible. Called Walmarts Electronic department, was ringing for about 2 minutes until someone answered. Was told that I called the wrong department when I just purchased a video game online and wanted to know when it will be available for pick up. Got transferred to another department, asked the lady my question and she rudely transferred me to yet another department without saying anything. Then got placed on hold again for another 5 minutes.

I love this store because I help set the store, so there far I am very invested in the success of the supercenter of Madison. The associates are a prime example of how customer service should be distributed. It does me proud to know that I was a prime contributor to giving great customer service. Sherry Ward, is a prime example of how door greeters should do it the Walmart way and the pharmacy dept is the best in the surrounding area

Too few register lanes are open to serve customers. Items found one week are often not in stock a week later. Prices are higher in the Madison store compared to Athens. For example milk is $1.99 in Athens and $3.06 in Madison. Aisles are often blocked by employees leaving stocking carts in the way. This Walmart takes its customers for granted and are under appreciated compared to other Walmart stores in Covington and Athens.

Ive unfortunately had to edit my original review. I was looking for an item and called customer service to ask if they had it and during the entire 30 minute call I talked to 4 different people asking me what I needed and explained everything to every one of them and after waiting a while I had to hang up cause it was obvious they all 4 had no intentions of helping me.

I cant stand walmart, but I looked on their Web site and fiend the product I was looking for at a better price. Went in and they didnt have it whoever the Web site clearly stated it was there at this location. Told customer service and the were indifferent to what was said. As far am Im concerned Ill never go back. Wall mart is the DEVIL!

I really love Walmart in general. But they have some employees here in Madison.Ga that think they dont have to help customers. It use to be that when you go into a Walmart store almost every time you seen a employee they would ask you can I help you find something and they were very friendly. Not so any more.

this is my preferred Wal-Mart. Ill go to this Wal-Mart over the Covington Wal-Mart any day. the staff is friendly and the garden section is pretty good. it is a smaller store but much easier to get around and get in and out. good craft section.

They have a racist working there named Matt Epps who openly calls customers the N word and goes online and talks about killing black people. Definitely will not be shopping there anymore as long as he is employed.

The bathrooms usually need attending. Next to none of the employees ask if you need assistance. The cashiers are usually talking to each other or barely acknowledge you while ringing up your purchase.
