I give this Publix a three because its clean, organized and well-stocked. The people working at the deli are very friendly and the cashiers range from just civil to friendly. However, I am docking two stars because of this stores disturbing policy on loitering. During a really cold weekend in January (like, 20s) I decided to sit and eat my sub and drink my Red Bull in the comfort of this Publixs cafe instead of walking home immediately. About five minutes after I sat down, while I was eating my sub, I noticed a security guard watching me. I tried to ignore him and kept eating, but he walked over to me, leaned over, looked at my food and said, "Oh, youre eating." I laughed nervously and said yeah. Then he left me alone and I tried to forget the awkwardness. I finished my sub but continued to sit there on my phone, drinking my Red Bull, for about another twenty minutes. At that point, the security guard started walking around the cafe again slowly. I ignored him again, but then I felt a tap on my shoulder from behind me. I was freaked out that someone was approaching me and tapping my shoulder from behind me even more freaked when I turned and saw it was this lurking security guard again! This time, he told me "I have to tell you about our stores policy on loitering" and proceeded to tell me I couldnt be loitering there. When he saw how upset I got and when I explained that I was drinking my Red Bull, he tried to backtrack and say that the policy was really for homeless people...but why did he even come up to me? Did he think I was homeless? My face still burns when I think about it. I complained to Publix customer service and the manager of this store did call me, but he really just made me feel worse when he told me he would have a talk with the security guard about "the difference between homeless people and normal citizens." I expected Publix to react more strongly to my story, but its clear that they have been telling the security guards to kick out homeless people without being more accurate/specific about it so this is what results.....It shouldnt be about who is homeless and who is well dressed and looks "normal." If you purchase something at Publix, that should give you a license to take your time enjoying it in the cafe, regardless of your homelessness or general appearance. Disgusting.

This Publix treats homeless people like garbage. I was standing outside after shopping talking to a homeless friend who is usually in the area. A cop comes out after thirty seconds and asks, "Is he asking you for money?" (Panhandling near a store is punishable by a month of jail time in Ga, which is as useless a band-aid on the systemic problem of homelessness as I can think of) I say, "No, just talking to my neighbor." He looked at me like I was crazy to think of a homeless man as a human being let alone a neighbor. "Your neighbor? Well, loitering is not allowed." I was about to argue that I was a paying customer and therefore not loitering but my friend got scared and ran off. Probably the right move on his part as the homeless arent typically given the same sort of legal leeway as most of us. They are treated like the garbage of society because they cant contribute money. Occasionally, Publix allows people to rest in the cafe and store their cart in the lobby, provided they purchase something from the store. I guess some security guards are stricter than others. I would like to see this become a universal policy and to stop the homeless witch hunt I see sometimes. The cashiers in this Publix are very friendly, and recognize me, almost as if they were members of a community rather than representatives of a faceless corporation. It seems to be important to Publix to be connected to the community and provide excellent customer service. I would ask Publix to remember that being part of a community entails being kind to your neighbors and giving a hand when you can.

Though their prices are higher than the competitors, Publix has the freshest meats, seafood, and produce. They have a healthier food selection on their shelves. They also have the best tasting and freshest bakery food items. I love the fact that their pastries and breads are baked fresh everyday. Customer service from every employee (including stock personnel, cashier, baker/cook, management, etc.) is outstanding. The store is always immaculate, clean, and well organized. Parking lot is free of trash, and the grocery carts arent raggedy or run down. ( Nothing worse than hauling grocery in a filthy buggy that squeaks loudly or the wheels get stuck, wont move, or move in the opposite direction of where your navigating.) Again, though Publixs prices are slightly higher than its competitors, the quality of its service and product is well worth the value!

This Publix is very conveniently located next to the MARTA Midtown station, has a decent selection, but is a little bit pricey (particularly fruits and vegetables). In terms of selection, I like that they provide ethnic groceries, seasonal offerings, as well as basic kitchenware and household and office items. At the same time, the store layout is compact, they try to place relevant items together, and they rarely have long checkout lines, so you dont need to spend too much time there (they also have an express checkout line). There is a table with discounted items right next to the entrance from the parking lot, where you can sometimes find very curious and heavily discounted items. There is a Georgia Tech shuttle stop right at the opposite corner of the Peachtree Place and Spring Street.

Service and the store is always clean, that I love. But at times in the bakery the customer services usually sucks, if they are busy then you can forget about it. And in the deli, fried chicken taste like soaps, the after taste is horrible, I bought some fried chicken today first I threw up then threw the rest away. Frying meat without being clean first is not OK. Plus frying meat and over used grease is not OK. Never buying anything else from the deli. Fresh from the grease yes, but theres nothing fresh trying to eat fried chicken and it seem like you eating a bar of soap. Lesson learned. I heard about it, but never experience it until now.

This is a great Publix. They really care about the customers even though most of them are young college students. Everyone is taken seriously and respected. The employees are also extremely caring and helpful. I went in to purchase some gloves because I misplaced mine and it was snowing. They didnt sell any but an employee named Laura offered to give me some of the fuzzy ones they give employees to keep their hands warm. No charge! It was extremely kind and helpful as it was bitter cold outside. If all their employees are as wonderful as Laura its no wonder this publix ranks high. I will definitely return.

Wow. I see the longest review is a bad one, but I like this Publix. Its a smaller store than they normally operate but the deli and bakery are what youd expect from Publix which is good! Ive always found the food selection to be fresh and the staff very helpful and bright. Ive been going to this Publix for the last two years and I love it! They make really good fresh croissants in the bakery! Their fresh fruit cups, the ones with fresh, washed grapes and strawberries are the best of any Publix Ive been to. Ripe and Ready to Eat! lol! I hope you try it, at least, and give your own opinion.
