Both the Carrot Cake and NY Style Cheesecake were incredible. Completely worth the drive for me. The giant slice of Carrot Cake was super moist while still maintaining a delicate fluffy consistency, full of sweet carrot bits and of course a frosting that is possibly the best Ive ever had, and Im a bit of a carrot cake nutcase. It wasnt overly sweet, nice and pillowy, and had that delicious buttery accent to the flavor. That is carrot cake cloud 9 right there. The NY style cheesecake was fantastic as well, though I didnt get much as it was well protected. You could tell it was just as well crafted and delicious. She didnt offer the Oreo Cheesecake any longer but was more than happy to request adding some Oreo to the NY Cheesecake for me. So, I was more than happy with the cheerful and outgoing service I received. The Dessert Lady has been well known as one of Orlandos MUST TRY destinations over the past 10 years or so. Ive lived here my whole life and never really had the chance to dare the traffic to make it during hours, though I was constantly told about it by friends. I was really happy I remembered to do so when in the area the other day. I will not hesitate doing so from now on. :)

Hello, world, this is Allison and I am here to tell you that these desserts are truly divine. Looking at the title of this shop, I thought to myself: "Dessert Lady? Who is she? Is this me? I think I should go check it out." I headed over to the shop and was so impressed with everything. The decor is cute and girly, and the dessert lady is very friendly! She gave me a rundown of some of her most popular cakes and desserts and even let me try some of her famous carrot cake. I ultimately ended up getting two desserts -- a tiramisu torte and the strawberry cake, and both were great. I think the torte was a little better since there was more going on in it (think chocolate chip cookies in place of lady fingers) but the cream cheese icing on the strawberry cake was so yummy. The slices are a little pricy at $9, but I think if youre looking for a nice little treat, this cant really be beat. If I came back, I think I would definitely get the carrot cake, and I dont even really like carrot cake! Thanks for being so sweet, dessert lady! Ill be back whenever I come to Orlando!

Extremely rude service and overall disappointed. First dont expect a display case or a wide variety of baked goods as advertised. Theres overpriced cake which u can get a slice for $9 or cupcakes which are listed for $3 each but we were told we had to buy 6. The cupcakes are sold cold and not even decorated and come in only basic boring flavors. The frosting is either chocolate or vanilla and was not applied consistently and some barely had any at all. The cupcakes are dense like a rock. We were 1st greeted by the owner who acted annoyed we were there and almost seemed to discourage us from buying anything and ultimately passed us off to another person. We were very much looking forward to our visit to the dessert lady while we were on vacation and were extremely let down. Wish we would have went some where else, dont waste your time or money.

I was originally trying to work with another dessert shop to place an order for some cakes and a dessert table for my wedding, who didnt seem to have time for me because they were always too busy with other orders. I tried a couple of other places that never answered their phone or called me back, or who were completely closed down despite their listing and hours of operation on Google. Anyway, when I called The Dessert Lady and got a hold of Patty, I was immediately pleased. She seemed so flexible and told me to walk in and shed help me. She gave me some samples of her different cakes to try, all of which were INCREDIBLE. Her cakes are moist and dense. She helped me create a custom order and her prices are very reasonable, and she is going to have everything delivered the day of the wedding. Couldnt be more pleased!

Patti Schmidt is an Orlando legend, a powerhouse baker who has graced the menus of many major restaurants for years while seducing her own customers with delights such as her famous towering carrot cake (her best seller) and chocolate chip-stuffed tiramisu torte. While her various locations may shift (her shop on Church Street is particularly missed), the new location at The Marketplace at Dr. Phillips has the pink-bedecked look of an expensive French lingerie shop and the smell of pure sugary heaven.

Very rude. She charged us $9 per slice which is just fine but after fixing our 2 slices, she set them aside to help a regular customer who had just walked in. She then picks up our order, which was ready, and went to finish with us. We sat there wondering why anyone would be so rude. Will never go back. BTW the slices of pie and cake are way too rich. After 3 bites you just want to throw it away.

Definitely not a place one would stop by often, with a price of $9 for a slice of cake. With that said, if youre ever in the mood to treat yourself, this would be the right place to start! The slices are very large, and you probably wont find a better slice of cake than at The Dessert Lady. There are only a couple of chairs inside, so be prepared to take your cake on the go.

Despite having the wedding in Tampa, we turned to the The Dessert Lady for our reception because there was literally no one else that could do it as deliciously, as beautifully, or as inexpensively. It was a highlight of an already amazing day. I highly recommend her work.

I first tried the carrot cake at the Red Mug Diner downtown and fell in love with it. When my fiance said he wanted carrot cake for our wedding, I knew The Dessert Lady was the place to go. All of our guests loved the cake! I am so glad we chose her!

Out of town and wanted to celebrate my daughters 13 birthday with a nice cake. I didnt want a grocery store cake. Wow 6 layer chocolate was delicious!!!! She was very friendly and helpful. Yes cake was rich but hey...its cake. Everyone loved it

Really nice lady and so sweet. My family and I tried a slice of the 6 layer chocolate cake and red velvet. OMG!!! It was amazing my 4 yr old wouldnt stop eating it lol. We will go back for sure.

I go here every time Im in Orlando. There are so many different cakes that sound good that you may feel like you arent choosing the right one. Do not fret, for you cant go wrong. Delicious!
