so I have to vent about some crap customer service... long story short I find a rug for our living room, and this is an 8x10ft rug and I ask the women at ross if it can be held up front for me to get the car once I pay for it-"let me ask, no mam you cant" I said ok.. I walk to look for shoes for Kai and come back to get the rug, this same associate is around that area and sees me and I asked can I pull the tag off and bring it up to pay for it? "No sorry".. and no offer to help bring the rug up- so here I am kai following carrying this huge rug to through the store, while 2 other associates and the security guard watch while leaning against the counter. So here I am standing in line with about 6 people in front of me and again not one hey just set it here until its your turn, not one let me help you-- just watching.. I get to the check out and its the same women and she says "wow you were not joking about that rug" I said "nope" and laid the rug down, what does she do (because she isnt about to pick up the rug) has me take off the tag-- then as I pick up the rug and my awesome kiddo (who is 6) tries to help the other customers raise a stink about the stores poor customer service - the women associate then starts to yell at me getting louder and louder as Im about out the door that I can in fact leave the rug I just paid for on the ground while I bring up my car... my answer after all that, Im not leaving this for someone else to grab, thanks... I called the manager as I left and she basically said "well mam, they cant help you out, I said ok, I understand but they can help me in the store, and she said well did you ask for help?" After that I couldnt take it, and asked for the regional managers contact info... PATHETIC! they need to to train employees and managers about better service skills.. im bummed because I spend a lot of time and money in this specific store, and always find awesome stuff- but after this I WILL NOT go back to this store...

So I had a large bag in my hand from the store next door. And immediately the security guards walked near me and then followed me around the store! Lol I even told them I had JUST bought it from Payless next door and didnt want to go back to my car. Do the security cameras not work? Even the fitting room girl, Krystal was rude. Acting like she hated her job. Absolutely no nice tone in her voice. Didnt smile at all, she looked miserable. She told me to put my things on the rack so she could count each one individually. I was surprised she didnt pat them down! Lol She said please, but with a depressing attitude, forced to pretend to be nice. So, I tried on clothes and gave her one back. She then asked to count each item I was keeping to make sure there was 4 items there. Again looking depressed and miserable. And right next to her was a security guard! I felt like I had lowered myself to eating at McDonalds, like I was middle eastern going through an airport. Does Ross have a huge amount of people that steel from them? I dont even fit the steriotypical type to steel. The check out girl was nice. She made me laugh and apologized for what I had been through. I feel bad I didnt get her name. She knows who she is ;). Moral: dont walk into Ross with large beach bag.

I have lived in Clearwater my entire life and have thus been visiting this Ross for years. Im talking since I was in elementary school. This is my SECOND very unpleasant experience with the Ross employees. Both involving employees who speak very negatively about people not speaking English fluently. 1. Cashier speaking about a woman she was checking out in front of her. The woman spoke no English and the cashier capitalized on that, saying the woman needed to have someone else do her shopping or learn English because "she didnt have time for this" ...... even tho she was being paid for her time there. 2. Dressing room attendee talking to another employee about a gentleman who did in fact speak English and had just walked into the dressing room. This girl said he was " talking like an idiot" and asked "why he was even in America" On both occasions, I spoke to each employee and very politely explained to them that even if this is how they feel, they should not be vocalizing that in their place of work. On both ooccasions, my comments were very rudely brushed off. Not everyone here is this way, but unfortunately this reflects on the entire company.

I have been to numerous Ross stores across the states , but this has been the worst customer service I have encountered. I had purchased four items Three of the items were rung up and the third was forgotten. I informed her of the mistake. The customer service woman acted like it was my fault that I didnt inform her early enough to ring up all the items on the counter . I stayed quiet and let her say what she needed. Two days later I needed to return (possibly look for another size. ). The same African American woman was there and refused to pull the items out of the bag. I was confused said nothing but pulled them out. I laid both the receipts on top of the items on the counter for her , while she engaged in conversation with her friend near the counter. then she complained that she couldnt read the receipts. ( ink was faint) I stayed quite . Then she accused me of wearing the items. "What! Are you kidding! " was my reaction. She returned the items. I should not be treated like a thief and i guess i was a bother for her to be there. I will never step in that store location again.

LOVE Ross..... Just not this one. Associates are mostly rude and the customer definitely doesnt matter here. They call the next guest before youre even done picking up your bags! Btw, the fitting room closes 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE STORE CLOSES, but they dont tell you that until you gathered your items and make it to the fitting room. Disappointing all around.

I love this store! They always have great deals. The store is always clean, the staff, for the most part, is always friendly. There are a few girls who look like they hate their job and wish they were anywhere but work but thats to be expected working with the public. I hate the public as well. LOL. But all around a great location, great store!

I really dont understand why there are negative comments and reviews. I have been going here my whole life and have never had a bad experience. Even this new girl karissa is so amazing, she always greets me with a smile and checks me out supper fast. Ross is the best.. But I do hope they get some more mens joggers. You rock karissa.

Ive been to many ross stores in my life and had various experiences. The ross in clearwater mall is the closest to me and the cashiers are super slow and rude. The store on missouri ave is a bit farther but im more than willing to drive the distance for the outstanding customer service they provide.
