Dont get me wrong the Donuts are absolutely fantastic. Best donuts ever. However, I think I may have found what the "experiment" is. If you have ever visited this place than you will know exactly what Im talking about. And if your about to visit than you are going to find out shortly. The experiment seems to be, Attract droves of people with these amazing donuts yet force them stand in agonizing conditions while they wait for their magnificent delicacies. It seems as if the the fan above the fryer is completely off and the AC is barely sputtering out room temperature air. You walk in and immediately struggle to catch a sufficient breath due to the ridiculous amounts of grease floating in between the crowds, yes 50+ people breathing with no air conditioning and a fryer on. The idea seems to be "lets see if people will still buy our donuts, when they are borderline passing out". It is very hard to appreciate the product you are producing when the conditions created to enjoy that product are absolutely unbearable. How the employees handle these working conditions, I have no idea. You could probably boost the morale by providing a comfortable work environment. Im driving home in what smells like a grease trap, unable to escape the smell because my clothes and skin have sucked in the stench. Please. Do something about this. Other than a fan in the corner. Love your donuts. Thank you.

Absolutely madness and no organization at the Donut Experiment. They appear to have a very good business, but its just not worth the complete craziness. They have a very poor process for dealing with the amount of people that want to design a donut. They advertise franchising... why would I want a franchise when you place is a mess? The employees work in horrendous conditions... very dirty! We went in there today to plan a morning wedding party activity for about 10 people before our wedding. We were so bummed out because we were excited to have a cool activity for our main wedding party. It looked like a lot of fun online, on their website. After 5 minutes we at walked out frustrated. No thanks.

We stopped by the Donut Experiment for breakfast while in Anna Maria. Heres the process : you start with a cake donut, then choose an icing (about five to choose from, including the daily special) and a topping (tons to choose from). There are also non-customizable donuts like key lime and Sriracha available. Some of the donuts are awesome, some were just OK (key lime wasnt particularly limey). I also wish they had more than one choice for cake flavor. Overall a fun place, and the staff are very helpful!

We go to anna Maria island when we need to escape, and Im so glad we found this place on our last trip. Someone suggested it to us and the donuts are amazing! You build your own donuts and submit your order through a card. The donuts are about 1.50, perfect for a snack before heading to the beach. It was a beautiful store, and the employees were very nice and helpful. Will definitely be back soon!

This place is awesome. The donuts are so good. My only complaint is you can only pick one glaze and one topping. but that does not stop me from wanting to go back. I am a chocolate and peanut butter lover so both times I got to go here I got the chocolate glaze with peanut butter drizzle. Im salivating now. so good! Oh and the employees were very nice!

The donuts are amazing! Theyre all those amazing cake donuts us northerners equate with fall and apple cider. I was a little disappointed you couldnt pick more than one topping to go with your choice of glaze, but theyre still some of the best donuts Ive ever had. Great place to bring kids. Parking is not the easiest to find when theyre real busy though.

Delicious donuts, if small. All donuts are the same, you change them per your glaze and sprinkle. Line is long, but youre on vacation. Problem was they ran out of certain glazes, and the people standing outside dont get the word. Wouldnt be a problem except you fill out your order outside. Staff was very friendly.

I love this place! The only thing I dont like is that they are closed on Sundays and there are only about 4 or 5 parking spaces. The donuts are to die for! Its pretty interesting how to order your donuts. Just fill out the form with your choices and hand it to the cashier. The rest is history ❤️.

Amazing, fresh, and addicting!! Weve visited twice in our weeklong vacation. Tried almost every variation on the board and was not disappointed. A few favorites are the maple bacon sea salt, the chocolate raspberry, an the vanilla fruity pebbles. A must see on Anna Maria Island!

Love this place! Went here the first time 3 days into out vacation, went every day after! The bacon maple is to die for. The cake donuts are amazing to start with then adding the gourmet toppings. just perfect. Top that off with some of the best orange juice Ive ever had.

Over-rated very little room for parking but the trolly stops right outside. 10 minutes to order and 35 min to get your order of a dozen doughnuts. Standing room only while you wait.doughnuts were ok but nothing special. Good thing is you can make your own toppings.

This place was so much fun! And the donuts are so delicious, you seriously want to just roll around in them. Eclectic selection of soft drinks and nicely decorated venue. When the sun is about to rise, be sure to have your box of delectable donuts ready to eat.

Awesome experience! Super friendly people working there, fun atmosphere, and YUMMY donuts hot off the press!!!!! We especially liked the daily special donut of Creamsicle Crunch and Key Lime Pie, but ALL were delicious! Neat to watch their donut making too!

I love this place! I was here on vacation with my family, and we had the best donuts ever! I love the key lime donut, and you should get one with chocolate and coconut! That one was the best! But, make sure you get there early because it gets really busy!!

Best donut I have had in a long time. Simple combinations, made fresh while you wait. The iced coffee is fantastic as well - it does run out so get there early! Parking can be a challenge as its in a busy area. The place gets busy but they move quickly!

This is a neat experience for kids. All the donuts are cake donuts and you get to pick your own toppings, then they make it for you there. The donuts are warm and really good. My favorite was the Blueberry Lemon Crunch. My husband loved the bacon maple.

Donuts are good but nothing to drive out of your way for theyre not anything that special only thing that sets them apart from anyone else is that they customize your donuts for you which all in all is not that great. I will not be returning

Best donuts, we love the simple creations, glazed, cinnamon sugar or frosted. The donuts are so warm and moist, its hard to eat just one. Great experience! We go to Anna Maria every year and The Donut Experiment is a must visit each trip ☺

The customer service is amazing the donuts are fresh what more could you ask for! Please visit them they are super welcoming and friendly. If you are a tourist they will tell you the best places to go during your stay!!
