We were taking a group family trip and decided to stop and treat our kids and cousins to a donut. Love supporting small businesses, and we were excited to try it out. We went in to see HUGE delicious looking donuts. On the board it said a dozen for $12.95. We discussed it in front of the three workers, one which I assume was the owner. We secided to go ahead and get a dozen since it would have been nearly the same cost as each of us getting one, since there were 10 of us. The kids excitedly picked out their donuts. We went to ring up and they told us the cost was $36.05. ?!?! So naturally we questioned it! Thats when they finally decided to tell us the donuts for $12.95 were only on the left side of the case. Really would have been nice for them to tell us that in the first place considering we were talking about it right in front of them, and even asking if we had gotten to the dozen yet. I suppose at that point we should have told them to put the donuts back, but we felt a little obligated considering the excitement from all of the kids. The donuts were good, but we wont be going back on principle. Definitely feel duped. :(

Huge donuts!!!! Like, huge. Like, one is a meal and a half huge. Priced to reflect the massive pastry your getting. Definitely fair. And the donuts are well made and interesting but not gimmicky, which I appreciated. The service was definitely lacking - there were two people working, one in the back doing the baking and one who was supposed to be working the counter. The counter guy was jo where to be seen for the first 5 minutes I was waiting at the counter. The baker greeted me, but then told me that he wasnt sure where the counter guy was and that hed be with me soon. Anyway, barring a little poor communication, a great place worth stopping in at if youre in the area and need for weeks sugar allotment.

I write this review with much displeasure. Stopped in at this adorable looking Donut shop on Thursday, September 20th, 2012. The initial appeal was pleasant and the lady behind the counter was friendly enough...however...the selection was pitiful, they were not well stocked (completely out of hot chocolate, milk, chocolate milk, etc. Which in my book is unacceptable for a donut shop at 8 Oclock in the morning) and the actual donuts tasted old and perhaps somewhat burned. What a disappointment!!! This little place had SO much potential but turned out to be LESS than adequate. :-(

So much potential, but poor execution. The donuts had previously been brought to a work function, so we decided to try it out. We came at 11 on a Saturday. I had the smothered burrito and the wife had biscuits, gravy and donuts. The service from the high school age girl at the counter was horrible. We ordered drinks, and she didnt so much as pull out a cup for us. Once she had my credit card receipt, she just walked away into the kitchen. I wished I hadnt left any tip. In the seating area, the tables and floors all needed cleared/cleaned. The food itself was decent.

I went to the Donut Mill at 2 pm and was told they were completely out of foods on the menu like quiche and burritos. All they had left was some pre-packaged polish sounding food that was simply a glorified $4 hot dog. Not only were they out of food, they were out of gravy for their biscuits and gravy. I hear rave reviews about the biscuits and gravy, why not put in some effort to actually keep the biscuits and gravy and perhaps some other food in stock? Why stay open? I dont understand. My visit was terrible, Im not planning on going back anytime soon.

I have heard for quite awhile about the donuts at this place. Finally stopped and they were horrible. They only had a few to select from and they were days old. The eclair was so old that the chocolate was dry and discolored. The staff was uncaring and acted like they did not want to be there. I can understand with a case full of those donuts I would not want to be there either. I will never go there again. I need to open a donut shop and show these people what real donuts taste like.

Gone downhill. When I lived in WP, DM baked donuts fresh every morning. You could smell them from the road. Now, the donuts are dry and overpriced. I paid $18 for 1/2 doz dry donuts, a handful of stale donut holes, and a burrito with cold egg water in the middle. Eesh! Are the donuts even baked onsite anymore? Doesnt smell or taste like it. I want to like this place again so I hope they can turn it around.

Not good at all. I was wondering why thier donuts always taste a day old, then found out they make the donuts in the springs 40 miles away the day before and then drive them up that morning, no wonder! What kind of donut place doesnt make their donuts their that morning. Last time I went in "Rob" served me, he was disgusting. He reaked of stale cigarette smoke, not very appetizing.

We go there often from Colorado Springs to get the ice cream. How can you mess up that famous ice cream? They found a way. It was old and horrible. The yioung man who helped us was so rude and did not give a darn! He told us it was under new ownership, good luck to the new owners. They are off to a horrible start. Dont waste your time or money goney up for the ice cream.

I was really looking forward to getting a donut here after I heard all the hype. I was sorely disappointed. The staff were friendly, but my maple bar was stale (my wifes donut was dry and crumbly as well). That means they are either passing off day-old donuts as fresh, or their fresh donuts taste like day-olds. Neither option is good, and I will not be going back.

We come to Colorado every year for vacation, and stop at the Donut Mill.. Ive not had a bad experience, we purchase the mammoth cinnamon roles, and cinnamon twists, before we drive off for sight seeing. Weve also had the biscuits and gravy. Weve had nothing but very good experience, and warm inviting staff. See you all the end of July.

The biscuits and gravy doesnt have any sausage in it, wifes had about 2 small chunks. Went up to let them know she didnt like it and that there was no sausage in it and still made us pay full price for something else. Customer service is lousy and if you want donuts this is the place to go, thats it.

Their signature cinnamon roll, while enormous, was very dry and lacking. At $6.25, I expected more than just size. The Apple fritter was a better, but also dry. However, the service was fine and the staff was friendly. The regular donut I tried was fine, but not worth going out of your way.

Its hard to be fair when you knew what this place was and compare it to what it is now. The donuts arent fresh like they once were, the burritos are tiny and the prices have all gone up. Its hard to justify going here when there are so many other donut and breakfast options in town.
