The Doughnuts are incredible. They average $4 - 5 bucks but they are top notch, worth the stop. The flavors are changing every time Ive been in, so there is always something new to try. The ingredients are fresh and the presentation is well done. It seems that the shops goal is wacky creations with the best ingredients the owners can find. I would recommend stopping in early, the earlier the better, as you may not be able to find as many flavors the closer you come to the 2pm closing time. Im not sure if the cure is doughnuts throughout the day with an evening staff, providing me a place to go get a root beer float doughnut and sip coffee and wifi at 6 pm on a Thursday, or free samples and coupons to get me to go back, but there is definitely room for this little shop to grow. It will be interesting to see if it grows to full time business or if they stay catering to their "own" crowd. Worth the stop, bring a couple extra bucks for breakfast though. :)

A thank you to Steve for staying open and waiting for me to pick up my order. Coming from Pennsylvania to the middle of Denver isnt an easy ride. These Doughnuts are worth any trip you need to take if your in the area. The Root beer float was subtle and accurate, the brown butter glaze is a really great improvement on the classic glaze and goes really well with the doughnut. I know most arent for a savory doughnut but give the sirachi a shot-Make sure you eat it last!. Walking in and seeing an active bake shop tells you this isnt bucket glaze and artificial chocolate coating. to anyone seeking "best doughnut in Denver" youll notice a voodoo donuts in town. Please remember that a bag mix doughnut covered in artificial chocolate glaze taste the same world around weather its shaped like something funny or not. Glazed and Confused it the best Donut in Denver because Denver is the only place you can get it.

Great tasting donuts in different varieties. I had the cinutella and breakfast of champz which were quite tasty. Coffee was ok..Good for a quick breakfast run or sit down. However I would have given them 5 stars only if the sitting area was kept clean. We visited today and I couldnt decide where to sit because it seems like not one single table was wiped down. There was a rag sitting on the back of the chair next to the bar/counter. I had to ask for a refill of napkins (had to ask because I needed to wipe down my chair)...floors werent moped either. I didnt check the restroom but one family left being vocal about their disgust. Id hoped the place would kept their dining area just as great as their donuts.

I was able to try a few donuts and each was outstanding. The friendly staff also goes a long way with me. A thought for the people complaining about price: You wouldnt bat an eye paying $13+ for a crummy 2 egg breakfast and coffee at a greasy spoon diner (::cough::Sams#3::cough::)... why is it so appalling pay the equivalent for a meal with quality in the stratosphere by comparison??? My only suggestion for improvement would be that they have some more "traditional" selections. I love the creative/experimental stuff (the root beer float blew my mind), but I can only imagine how much they could crush a boston creme or a jelly bun.... just a thought, Ill be going back either way!

Couldnt sleep so I showed up here bright and early at 6:15...probably the best decision I have made all week. The ridiculous goodness of these donuts and their ingredients seriously shine when these babies are fresh. I was almost in tears of joy three donuts later....yes I ate all three donuts in succession as soon as I got home. It bothers me that people are comparing this place so hard to Voodoo. Yes they both have a similar concepts but it is like comparing apples and oranges. Voodoo is a total crowd pleaser any time any day but here you can literally taste the love and care in each donut at G&C.

Just brilliant donuts and the price is fine considering the quality and work that goes into them... You pay at least that much for a crap piece of pie that is mass produced for a restaurant and tastes like a biscuit with Wal Mart brand Jelly in it, so give these guys their due. The chain donut shops serve you crap and just how do you feel after eating one of those nasty little globs from Dunkin? .... By the way guys, I need to make a to go order Friday. I am heading to Albuquerque and I was told if I dont have your donuts with me when I get there I may as well turn around and suck tumbleweeds.

The doughnuts are made and fresh and from scratch. The puffy nut doughnuts and salty caramel doughnuts are a must! I also had the the root beer float doughnut (root beer dough with their classic cream filling) which was delicious and not too sweet. Coffee was ok but thats not the point of this place! The decor is industrial. The staff was great and friendly. Bathroom was clean with baby changing tables in both the men and womens bathroom. They also have high chairs for kids and a small play table for 2 kids at a time. Definitely a must go when youre visiting Denver!

The hours are not that great,if you go more close to 2 pm they dont have a good selection. I also think that if you are going to say your bake local fresh ingredients and have fryers and no pre-mixed bag or nasty stuff, then you should have a full crew to stay open enough hours to past the lunch rush and expand. But once again, as its website says its a small family oriented business that uses local ingredients ran by one chef probably with a small local operating budget. Voodoo is open longer hours and has more of a consistency with their variety...

The service was ok. Their credit card machine was down but werent told until after we got our donuts. The cashier seemed annoyed that we didnt have cash. The raspberry donut was great. We also tried the rootbeer float and samoa. They both had a weird after taste (old oil?). The rootbeer had no taste of rootbeer float but the samoa topping was killer. Our kids had the strawberry sprinkles and loved them. Im not sure if well try it again since they are more expensive and overall they were just ...eeehhh. Im hoping it was just the batch we got.

The donuts were okay, nothing that stood out too much. They were very friendly but for the price I wouldnt recommend this place. I dont mind paying a premium for a good quality donut, however the selection was very small and nothing looked all that fresh. Maybe if you go first things in the morning?? Either way, Id probably rather go to voodoos for the price, or try another place in this area. Again they werent bad but they sure didnt stand out. Id put them at a good grocery store quality but with a high price for an unimpressive treat.

Im sorry...showed up this morning excited at 0620 after reading reviews and was disappointed; I will try again as it may have been an off day. If I didnt know any better Id say my Cronuts were day old and not fresh. Got the CINN/SUGAR and bacon topped PuffyNutz, it was hard and not falling apart like other shops. The Vanilla Bean glazed was just MEH and I have the Root Beer Float left, lets hope thats better!! I wont post other shop names but some one should make sure of quality value and equal size of every product sold
