Being half Russian myself, I was so excited to find a russian deli on my trip to West Hollywood. I was so startled by how mean the store workers are and how of an unwelcoming environment this place can be. We purchased some beef pelmini and dadu (ice cream) paying up front. The woman working just kept giving us dirty looks and dryly handed over our change on the counter (despite my fiancé holding out his hand politely). I love taking pictures in order to spread awareness of such hidden gems...but got scolded like a child by the women working screaming for me to stop taking pictures. I dont mind following orders, but no need to scream. Overall, unless you are fluent in Russian or a blood relative of the cranky ladies up front...find another Russian store. Oh, and pictures are to follow in this review. ;)

We bought today for 50 bucks of different items. One third of them were way beyond their best before date. Disgusting. Купили еды на 50 долларов разные товары, консервация, пряники и тд. Треть оказалась уже просрочена, никогда не смотрели на даты здесь так как все нормальные магазины следят за качеством. Отвратительно.

The shop Odessa, when you buy a large amount, you will never give a check and always cheated and give light weight. Be careful. Always ask for a check for the purchase and check that impudent clerk you broke through. Good luck! Walk to the store Chestnut on the same street - there are not cheated !!! В магазине Одесса, когда покупаешь на большую сумму, то никогда не дают чек и всегда обсчитывают и обвешивают. Будьте осторожны. Всегда требуйте чек на покупку и проверяйте то, что наглая продавщица вам пробила. Удачи ! Ходите в магазин Каштан на той же улице - там не обсчитывают !!!

As a Russian native, I know my food. Ive been shopping at Odessa Deli ever since I discovered it, several years ago. Now that we moved to Valencia, we dont mind the commute in order to stock up on these delicious treats. The only negative, we found some canned food with expired due dates, but the good by far outdoes the bad. Love their Salmon Trout, herrings, Beef Tongue salad (my husbands favorite!), Pelmeni and just about everything else. The owners can also be very nice - but a bit rough around the edges when they are busy.. Overall, 5 stars!

Great market for various Russian items. However, the set up makes it impossible to walk in and out. The deli and cashier are the same person, so youre bound to wait for several minutes while waiting to buy one item off the shelf.

Purchased the zuchinni and egg frittata, the cherry pastry, the stuffed cabagge, and the pastry stfuffed with cheese. All the food items were delicious and fresh. I will definitely return for more

Really nice Russian market that has pretty much everything you could think of. The only problem is the parking, but the food and their produce is great. The staff is also friendly and helpful.
