4/18/13 HAVE YOU HEARD THE BASEMENT BUZZ? If you dont subscribe to the e-newsletter SB sends out, youre really missing out. Its filled with notifications for upcoming local events, and all the great classes (many of which are free) offered by SB. Weve done Zumba and Bootcamp. This weekend we hope to try the yoga class. Its at 11 on Saturday in Walnut Creek - were very excited. Yoga mats, unite! The Walnut Creek location is totally a 5-star joint. Aside from the free classes, they offer so much! A rental center (with our favorite employee, Ryan!), and tons of merchandise for all kinds of sports. A good shoe selection (you need good shoes, no matter what!) I think shoes are one of the most important investments you can make. Whats worse than sore feet?! Sore ankles, sore knees.... prevent all this with some quality footwear! They have clothing and snacks here too. And all-around really great employees. Weve had only positive experiences here! Thats a good sign.

Ive been to many Bicycle shops in the area, but Sports basement is a step above the rest in terms of customer service + selection + price. While I can fix most things on my bicycle, today while riding up Mt. Diablo, I had my shifter go out. They were pretty busy today with it being New Years eve, but after hearing about my end year goal of a 50th Diablo, the Sports basement team did what it took to get me back on the road to complete my goal. This isnt the first story Ive heard of how Sports basement has saved someones sporting event, but it was the first for myself and I couldnt have been happier. Thank you guys!

They got cool clothes, a little high priced but at least they have some fairly original stuff I dont normally see in other stores. Shoes are pretty expensive and Im not a big fan of the selection but if you need summer shoes and sandals they got some pretty cool ones there. They pretty much got all the sports stuff you need for what ever sport your looking for. The staff is actually cool and friendly. Hit them up if you cant wait for Amazon. They actually got great deals for the off season stuff. Buy your ski and snow boarding stuff in the summer for the killer deals.

I came in looking to test ride a Colnago, the guy attending the bike area asked if he can help. I asked if i can test ride a colnago, he said no problem, i said i found a size 54 sitting on the rack. He said oh that probably wont fit me because Colnagos size are different, they run 10 sizes smaller. He said i should be looking for a 64 and they dont have that in stock. I just thought to myself maybe he didnt really want to help or show the bike to me. Now i ride a Bianchi.

Their staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. They have taken time out to teach me about how to get a properly fitting helmet and bike (didnt try to upsell me, listened to my needs and got me the right bike.) Answered all my dumb noob biking questions without making me feel stupid. Got a great deal on a nice bike and they tune it up free. Great place to get a bike.

They rotate their product seasonally and have good deals throughout. Great selection of hard to find items for running and fitness. I enjoy browsing once in a while. I bought my first road bike here, the let me test ride a few and gave me a helmet to borrow. After a couple of test rides I went home with a smile on my BMC GF02.

Tons of sports stuff here! Got some very nice hiking shoes for a steep discount (but they were the newer model of the shoe). They do price match via Amazon so saved a few bucks there. Its my #1 place to go for any sports related clothing, shoes, etc. Great prices, competitive and tons of selection.

Sports Basement in Walnut Creek is the areas best destination for selection and expertise when it comes to outdoor recreation. The people who work here know their stuff and you can expect to find what you need. Pricing is totally competitive but the real value is in the people.

Best sports store in town. You gotta be kidding me, it is all the best equipment at much lower prices. I thought people were lying when they told me about Sports Basement, but its truly a diamond amongst cubic zirconium.

Good place to rent snowboards/boots. They dont count the day you pick them up and give an extra day to return. This makes sense since they arent riding days but it doesnt mean others do it.

I love this place. The staff is SUPER knowledgable about both the bikes they sell and gear. The mechanics (shout out to BRIAN who was awesome) know their stuff inside and out.

Nice sporting goods store. A little bit disorganized inside. I found myself constantly tripping over clothing racks. Targeting the older sporting generation.

The price for the ski bundle is good, but had to wait for 40 minutes on Thursday to get through the line. There is a 72 hour cutoff for the reservations.
