Today I called to ask about inventory of Copper Green. The woman who answered the phone, Rosa, was very helpful and said she had 5 in stock. I said great, I need 4 and Ill be right over. As I walked in the front door, an associate greeted me and took me to the 4 bottles at the cash register and Rosa herself rung me up. I was in and out in 5 minutes!! Amazing. My bill was $4 more than it would have been at Home Depot ($1 per item) but I was happy to pay to save the 45 minutes it would have taken at the big orange nightmare across town. Great store... I hope Lowes (who owns them) opens up a full sized store in Marin soon.

There are really only two reason you go here. 1. you hate Home Depot 2. you hate the idea of giving money to Home Depot The folks that work here are can be extremely helpful, you just need to find the right one. As opposed to Home Depot where you can never find anyone. Theres enough selection to get you by, the garden department almost always has what youre looking for, but if its real construction needs you have, Orchard isnt going to cut it. Im not sure they have the best prices in town, but in most cases Im going to guess its not worth your time and headache to chance down a few dollars.

When you pay a premium you expect premium service - and thats what Ive received at this location. Today I went in looking for two things. An employee at the front directed me to the right aisle, then within 10 seconds of looking in the aisle I was asked if I needed help by an employee. Both times they located what I was looking for right away. The store is clean and spacious, especially the outdoor nursery area.

The San Rafael OSH is great. They always have the product I look for, like this Weatherwash wood stain that naturally ages wood. Would come here again.
