I needed a new car and I was debating whether to get a used car for a lower payment, as I knew my insurance was going to be high. So, I figured that would be logical. I was shopping for a Honda, because all of my family has one except for me. I think was is best is to request quotes online then call the dealerships to inquiry about your quote, it was go faster that way. Then begin to negotiate over the phone before test driving and finalizing paperwork. I began looking online and requesting quotes, coincidentally enough the first phone call I made to begin my hunt for a car was with Capitol Honda in San Jose. The first person I spoke with was Gennyvie, who was the internet sales person, she was AMAZING over the phone, she demonstrated all the skills needed and is a true asset to the company and location. She listened to my needs and wasnt trying to get me to come in in a sneaky way without speaking numbers. She did mention that its all about making the customer happy and was confident to say that Capitol Honda will do EVERYTHING to make the deal. I did not believe her initially, but boy she proved only the up most outstanding, 10s across the board service and experience. Simon, my "car guy" and he is the one you want to go see, emailed me after I spoke with Gennyvie. He and I did a numbers email "back and fourth" deal. He was very professional and very responsive and within 24 hours I got the figures I wanted for exactly the car inquired about. Simon, is actually retired in 2013, and it speaks volumes about his work ethics and dedication to Capitol Honda, that he is back. He goes above and beyond than your average car salesman. He has a different touch, I have never had someone treat me so well. He is all about no hassle no bull, just tell him what you want and he will get it for you, or better. Let me tell you he was able to fight for me and got me a better deal than what I was coming in with. The financing part was a breeze, all I had to do was decided if I wanted the additional perks. Thats where Amir came in and handled the rest of the finance transaction very easily. All I have to say is that this group of individuals care alot about what they do and want to make people happy. Thats what I love most about the experience. I got a brand new 2017 Honda Civic EX-T in Burgundy, OMG I have received so many compliments, Im glad I went with a new car for the financing amount that I wanted and my payments are super low! Thank you so much Capitol Honda! You guys are MIRACLE workers.

I really cant describe how bad our experience was here. You have to read this -- its mind-blowing. // We went to buy a new Honda. We had enough money in our checking account to buy it on the spot, cash. Yet, for some reason, the salesman profiled us as being poor college kids... or worse. He took us out back, behind the building, out of view, and began grilling us with inappropriate questions - are we married, what kind of work does my wife do, does she have a job now. After answering "no" to the last one -- despite us previously indicating that (1) we didnt need financing - we would pay cash, and (2) I had a good job as a software engineer -- he delighted in saying to her, "Well then, youre not qualified." He was out to get her. It was scary. // We told him we wanted to see a manager, and suddenly he was desperate to show us the cars (which he had previously refused to do). We continued walking toward the managers office. I finally asked his name (twice) and *he wouldnt give it.* (He never gave it in the beginning, either.) Finally, as we walked back into the lobby, he ** mocked ** us -- in a squealing voice and looking at the ceiling, repeating "I wanna see a manager!", twice -- and then he *ran away*. In stark contrast, we had acted extremely professionally the whole time, even after he had gone crazy on us, and he actually went to that level... we still find it hard to believe. // The fact that Capitol Honda is hiring people capable of this kind of behavior, in this job-hungry market, blows my mind. There are other people out there who are skilled salespeople who deserve this guys job. // I should also point out that many of the 5-star reviews here are suspicious. Of the 73 reviews here, 30 in a row are from "A Google User" (highly suspicious) and all 30 give 5 stars! It looks like someone definitely spent Saturday night making fake accounts and giving 5 star reviews here. On Yelp, this place has 2.4 stars, not 4.4.

Very pleasant experience of buying a new Honda Civic from Capitol Honda over the weekend. I went in to the dealership after doing my homework - I knew the model of car I wanted to purchase, price I wanted to pay, and color preference. Matt was the sales consultant assigned to work with me. I quoted my price, shared my color preferences. We walked out to the lot, saw a few cars of the different colors in stock at the dealership. I picked the color of car I wanted to buy. Matt went in to speak with his manager. He came back to check with me to see how firm I was with my number. He went back again to speak with his manager. Within 15 minutes the deal was sealed. Another 15 minutes of test drive. We shook hands. Started the paperwork. Drove out of the dealership with a brand new 2012 Honda Civic LX in less than 2 hours. Matt was very professional, very courteous, very thorough with explaining every feature of the vehicle. Matt is a very good salesperson to work with. As with buying anything that is financed, it was no surprise to me that the longest time I spent at the dealership was in the waiting room filling out the purchase application, waiting for the credit check to be run, waiting for the car to be readied, and then finally signing a ton of papers. Tong, from Finance, was another great experience at the dealership. No hard sell with anything. Just gave me the facts on all the options I had. Took my answers without any attempt to sell anything. I had a very brief conversation with Roger (Sales Manager). He too came across as very professional and courteous. Overall, an extremely pleasant experience of buying a car at Capitol Honda. If you ever need to buy a Honda (in the Bay Area) go to Capitol Honda and I will highly recommend that you ask to see Matt Adams on your visit to this dealership.

we had two recent experiences: 1. we bought a new 2014 CRV. they didnt have the basic model so they offered us one with a few extra options with a $1000 up charge. we said we really dont need those options and dont want to pay the $1,000 extra. the sales man to sweeten the deal said heres what i can do for you, i give you 2 free full tank of gas refills and two oil/filter changes. the whole purchase process took 5-6 hours because they were doing everything at the same time like other sales, etc. which was very frustrating. later someone from a central office called for a survey of the sales experience and in all honesty we gave them a 7/10 overall score. next time we went for a free refill. the sales man ripped us apart for giving him a bad review and completely denied the extras he had promised. BTW he was their Costco point of contact. a very dishonest man. but also for the central office to throw us in front of the bus was a shameful act. 2. recently we bought a used Honda Element, as they dont make those anymore, one of the side airbags had been deployed and needed to be reset along with the entire airbag system. also the driver seat was loose in its tracks. we got a written estimate of $3,500 for the airbag system and $375 for fixing the seat which seemed high to us. we took the car to Los Gatos Autocare and handed them the dealer estimates. he tightened the screws for the seat while we were there at no cost and the cost was the airbag fix was just $500 parts and labor included. Capitol Honda is a dishonest cut throat business and could not be trusted. we will not be going there ever again.
