Well...... PRICES ? Much higher on things like milk, cereal, prepackaged meats, common food staples etc than either Ralphs or Vons. QUALITY ? The produce reminds me of what was tossed to the pigs on my grandfathers farm for the most part, you may get lucky with the weekly sale items being a little fresher and the meat department looks like something straight from the depression era, dank, dirty, smelly and poorly lit enough not to be able to really get a good look at things. ATMOSPHERE ? You definitely leave part of America behind walking into this place, English will be the third language you hear, dirty unpolished concrete floors, very poor lighting throughout, dust ladden products and shelves, people pushing past one another oblivious to their surroundings, rude and crude. THE ONLY GOOD THING ? Dirt cheap prices on beer and off brand booze, if you are not offended by the person in front of you in line paying for $100 worth of it in cash while pocketing $300 worth of groceries on food stamps provided by us working class tax payers. WORTH MENTIONING ? I go for the propane and enjoy the LIBTARDS who visit this place like its some kind of great cultural center while wondering if any of them realize the likely hood of disentary as they try oh so hard to fit into a group they really only need for votes as they remain choosingly blind to the fact that they are being discriminated against as they fork over their cash ? BOTTOM LINE ? Shut it down, its disgusting ! *UPDATE* WHEN YOU SEE A "CUSTOMER" REVIEW WITH "42" PICTURES, WHO DO YOU THINK POSTED IT ? YUPP !

Ive driven by this place for probably almost a decade and I finally stepped inside the other day. The produce section is really cheap compared to other "American" supermarkets in the area (sadly, there arent that many left in the area.) An abundance of different types of fruits and veggies to meet the diverse clienteles! The store is also neat and tidy making shopping pleasant. Each aisle is fully stocked with different items. All the staff members were definitely hard at work re-stocking merchandise and re-arranging displays. Prices for most items are inexpensive to reasonable. I didnt see too many "name brands" throughout the store, but the generic brands seem to work just fine. For example, I came here to shop for a last minute BBQ and the Springfield brand plates/cups work just as nicely (cheaper in prices!) as ones I have bought from Target. Overall, I spent a little over $50 for a BBQ (including a pie and box of cookies) that fed over 20 people! Next time Im in the area and need something, I may consider Valu Mart as my "go-to" store!

Low price, but it lets you feel more like in Mexico. Sometimes they sell deteriorating octopus. Its rapped tight in a package so that I couldnt smell before I got home. The workers are rude. Two weeks ago I tried to pay a $3.32 purchase with coins but was refused. We finally came to a compromise that I pay 32 cents in coins plus three one dollar bills. A week later I bought 4.69 food, I paid a $5 bill and 69 cents (1 quarter, 2 dimes, and then pennies), asking one dollar back. The Cashier took the $5 bill and gave me 31 cents change, ignoring the 69 cents, saying shes busy. I then had to collect back 100 cents from the counter. I went to the manager (or supervisor, a tall man) to complain, but hes worse. He didnt even wait until I finish my story before scolding me back:" You pay all the purchase in pennies. Who has time to count it?!" He later offered a better solution:" Its not that bad. Next time you come to me if you pay coins." Man, I am a special trouble to them. I have no intention to go there any more.

Nice helpfull people .. I always find what I need with a very reasonable price clean and trustable ...the new arrangement including the added bakery is an evidence that they care about there customers

The staff is very rude and have no patience. Absolutely no professionalism dealing with customer in spite of being polite. Do not shop at Valu Mart in San Gabriel.
