I just have one word for this store and that is "AWESOME". Im pretty sure that anyone who visits there will find it awesome also. The very first thing that happened to me when I entered the store was an elderly lady greeting me with a "Welcome". I really liked that. The second thing which I really liked was that there was a young man who came up to me and asked me if I needed help in finding something. This just shows that the people there are very helpful. I easily found the goods I needed. To my surprise, they have a huge collection of goods. Furthermore, they have really good prices. I was really happy with the store. while I was buying the goods. Its really easy to start a conversation with the people working there. While I was checking out, I was having a conversation with the young man. They all seem to be very friendly. I wish the very best to this store. Im very sure that its going to do really good in the future. Its easily the best store in the city. I recommend everyone to go to the store.

The store was freshly stocked and extremely well-organized, by far the cleanest independent grocery I have witnessed. I left with fresh Curry Leaves, Kala Jeera, Nigella, Kasori Methi, Amchur powder and a few bags of Dal. A refrigerated section with a small selection of specialty produce and homemade Mango Lassi is in the back. A freezer section with prepared meals, dishes and cheap pre-shredded coconut is at the front, by the register. The produce selection is small, but frankly safeway is across the street. I am not mistaken. There is no better place to purchase your Indian ingredients in San Francisco.

This is a great little Indian grocery store in San Francisco that I like to go to. They have all the spices and food items that you may need to prepare an Indian meal. One of my complaints is that they do not carry multiple brands of a same product and they keep changing brands, so if you are used to one brand, there are chances that you wont find it next time you go there. It is a good thing and bad thing; kind of forces you to try new brands. I am particular about my brands because taste of Indian frozen food varies greatly from one brand to another since they all utilize spices differently.

I picked up a bag of "Hot Mix" a crunchy snack that is one of dozens of such treats that can be found here. I also found all the ingredients for preparing traditional indian food including fresh curry leaf and prepared dosa and iddly batters. On occasion I make sambar from scratch and fresh curry leaf is what gives sambar that sour twang! This place is NOT on Fillmore. It is on a strip of small stores bordering the Safeway parking lot, parallel to Fillmore between Ellis and OFarrell facing Safeway. On foot from Fillmore turn on Ellis and it will be a few stores down on the left.

I consider this grocery store a part of the well rounded portfolio of nearby mono-ethnic stores in the areas (Nijiya, Woori, etc.). Excellent place to pick up harder to find ingredients like fresh curry leaves, asafoetida, mustard oil, etc. For the more casual Indian food fanatics they have decent selection of frozen foods and namkeen for your snacking pleasure. The store is small and the prices are average, but its great to have this in the middle of the city to save you the drive to the South Bay.

Jai Ho Indian Grocery, is the answer to "where should I buy my Indian groceries from?" I visit this place very often for my groceries. They have everything from a grain of salt to a big bag of Rice/Flour and much more.. You cannnot think of any stuff you could not get there. Staff is very friendly, and you just feel good when you leave. Its a place I can afford to go to whenever I want, simply adore this place.

If you are in San Francisco and having the urge to eat or cook Indian/Pakistani food, then Jai Ho Indian Grocery is the place to be in. They have a huge variety of Indian spices and all sorts of frozen packages to give away. The owner is very friendly. Great customer service. Major plus of the store is that the items are stacked very neatly and systematically. Will surely visit again and recommend it.

I visited this place last week with my wife and we have found this place really great. The prices are very very reasonable and stuff is organized with friendly owners who are looking out to help the customers every time. The owners helped me pick the ingredients for the recipes (free) and we tried it and it came out awesome. This place is really a treat in the city of San Francisco.

Ive been going to this store, off and on, for over 14 years. Its fantastic. Their inventory is great, and they stock "normal person" groceries. Thank goodness - a small grocery store thats not gauging the locals. They have to deal with a lot of riff-raff, so Ive seen them grumpy at times, but they really are great people. Charlie will sometimes offer to stock items if you ask.

Was excited to try out this store but will never step foot inside again. If you do be sure to pay by credit card - I just handed the cashier $20 cash and she treated it like a $5. When I asked her, she said no, it was a $5 bill (even though I just came from the ATM which only dispenses $20s) and didnt double check herself. Just overpaid $15 for some ginger and hot peppers. Thanks.

I like being close to Jai Ho grocery for when I need to pick up hot peppers, ingredients for chaat, or some spices. It is convenient that the store is right next to Safeway. It is clean and the couple that owns the store is always friendly. I usually prefer coming here than to the Indian bazaar on Polk St.

Decent enough place for quick Indian groceries. Compared to the ones in South Bay, this is relatively small and had limited choices. Has fresh vegetables, spices, samosas, Roti, etc. Parking is ample, but beware of the surroundings.

It is a tiny Indian store and has most of the Indian Masala and groceries. The frozen food section is stocked with tasty Indian foods like Paratha, Idly and Vada. Good shop to quickly grad daily ingredients needed for Indian Cooking!

For Indians, this place is perfect. Not overpriced and you get all your Indian groceries and of course the shopkeepers are very welcoming and the whole vibe of the place takes you back to India.

Love that Jai Ho is located right next to a Safeway so you can get all your grocery shopping done at once. Get cheap vegetables, Indian snacks and frozen meals.

One of the only two Indian stores in the San Francisco city limits, they seem to have all the things needed though a bit expensive.
