After plenty of research into the style of tattoo I was looking for, I came across the excellent reviews of The American Tradition, and checked out their artists portfolios (as well as their instagrams). I visited the shop and after checking out their physical portfolios, I knew Vinny was my artist. I came in with an idea and an area to place it and he was completely professional and made completely welcome suggestions; he definitely knows how to give you a tattoo that will age well. The shop is professional and clean and I cant wait to get more work done!!! All of the artists are welcoming and make you feel at home. Remember: you have to pay for quality work!! I will post a picture of my piece once it is done...

I dont even know where to start. Ryan is a true artist. He spent 3 hours with me today and I couldnt be more pleased and thrilled with my 2nd tattoo. After many days and hours of researching tattoo shops in Sac (because Im new to the area and a total perfectionist).. I landed at American Tradition. Ryan greeted me, I explained what I was looking for, we picked a date and the rest is history. What I had envisioned was nowhere near as amazing and intricate as what I have on my thigh. I will definitely recommend Ryan to all my friends who are looking for someone who knows what hes doing and takes pride in his work.

Getting my Nana tattoo added on to.. RJ has been doing my arm tattoo for 3 years now. With every new grand baby, i add another lily to the bunch. Its currently a wrist to elbow piece of art. I currently have 4 star gazer lilies with the babies names added. I get a gazillion compliments on the art work and the color. After 3 years, it still looks brand new. I told me 3 daughters, Nana is itching for another one :)

I have quite a few tattoos and my only regret is that Ryan didnt do all of them! His work is by far the best Ive had--he has incrediblely clean lines and beautiful shading. He is also very cool and patient and will take the time to work with you on concepts and design to make sure you are 110% satisfied with his artwork.

I went to this place for my first tattoo and it was done by RJ, it looks fantastic and I couldnt be happier. I get lots if compliments and he was very gentle with me. Knowledgeable staff and comfortable atmosphere. The location is an old firemans quarters for the old firehouse next door. Grimace helped me with my first tattoo and made sure I was comfortable and had everything sorted before starting. The tattoo looks clean and I couldnt be more happy.
