I have tried for two days now to purchase a new egg gift card. I have a rewards visa card through work that I wanted to apply towards a purchase. It seemed like a simple enough thing to do, however, new egg wont let you use two credit cards to split an order, you have to buy a gift card, then use that along with your other method of payment. Fine, its an extra hoop to jump through, but I was willing to do it. I had issues getting the gift card purchase to go through. After two failed attempts I assumed I was typing the wrong verification information in, so I called visa to check. Nope, everything I had been using matched what they had on file, and they informed me that the verification was failing from new eggs end of things. There was one thing that they thought might be causing the issue, the e-mail I had on the visa account was my work e-mail. So I created a new new egg account using my work e-mail and tried replacing the order and it was denied yet again. At this point I called new egg customer service and explained the issue and was told that everything on their end matched up, but they would send my issue over to some internal department to check on the problem. I got an e-mail shortly there after from the Verification Department saying that the error had been corrected and that I was free to try placing my order again. I tried running the exact same transaction this morning and it was denied. At this point my frustration was pretty high and in a moment of anger I had the clarity to think "Why not see if Amazon has the parts you want?" I have built several computers over the years, and have used new egg for all of them, it had never occurred to me to check another site. But, they did indeed have the exact parts I was looking for, at the same price new egg had listed. The only difference was that I was going to use a 10% promotional discount when I placed my order with new egg. Turns out, Amazon makes you purchase a gift card too if you want to use different cards. I went through the order process and had my gift card in less than 5 minutes, and placed my order for the components I wanted in less than 10. Whats more, I was just placing an order for two components out of about 8 I plan on getting for this particular build. I am extremely disappointed with everything new egg did in this attempted transaction. I am fairly certain that unless something changes in new eggs ordering system, I will be sticking with Amazon for all my future computer projects. Further more, new eggs site only allows you to review the products they sell, not the actual service they provide. It is stated on their page for leaving a review that anything said specifically about new egg will be deleted. I am sure its because of issues like this.

I have read several reviews and had to put in my thoughts. I love Newegg. Their customer service is great and they care about their customers. A reviewer said they sell second rate motherboards and hard drives. This is an inaccurate statement, Newegg cannot handle nor test ANY products they receive from the manufacturers. If you have a DOA, it is NOT Neweggs fault, it is the manufacturers as they are the ones that sell it to Newegg. If the product is second rate, then it is the manufacturers fault, or you as the consumer for buying the product without reading reviews. The whole thing about the Tech Knowledge: Its people being stupid, not Newegg. You complain that they put up restrictions that not everyone can review products, and turn around and complain about how they let people review wrong. That is people being stupid. FYI there are a lot of stupid people in this world. Their prices are great, their costumer service is great, and their speed on honoring purchases is incredible. They accept returns past the 30 days (Ive returned stuff months after-on a whim I called when the manufacturer wouldnt honor the warranty), their RMA service allows you to keep the product until you receive replacements, and on occasion I have not had to return the broken item as the Rep said it was broken and thus a waste of money to ship back. Newegg has ALWAYS been good to me when I shop there and I will continue to shop there-just bought some supplies today (Cooler Master Hyper 212+ and a Rosewill Blue LED 120mm Fan).

NewEgg has always been a trusted source of computer hardware....Well until recently. I recently attempted to purchase 5000$ worth of NAS equipment from them. Their handling of the situation was incompetent. The order used NewEgg and 2 third party vendors for fulfillment. This is not an unusual situation with NewEgg. But what happened next was the worst bit of customer service I have ever experienced. NewEgg held the part of the order that they were fulfilling but passed my company card on to their 3rd party vendors. The 3rd party vendors fulfilled the order no problem. Newegg however required a phone call for fraud protection. That was baffling how could they pass on card information to a 3rd party vendor that they themselves thought was fraudulent. We called newegg to verify the card information 2 days went by and they had still not fulfilled the remaining part of the order. After much waiting on hold and several people who could not help me even if they wanted to. We were left with an impossible situation in which they had fulfilled part of an order but for fraud reasons refused the rest of the order. Apparently newegg thinks that as a corporation it is ok to risk their 3rd party vendors reputations and merchant accounts but not their own. I have lost all confidence in newegg to handle my CC information. I will never do business with them again. This is far and away the worst customer service I have ever received.

Newegg used to be *the* place to buy computer parts. Their website made it easy to configure everything youd need to build a computer; their prices were the best around; their RMA process was simple and fast; and their free or cheap shipping through FedEx was always matched so shipments from multiple warehouses would always arrive on the same day. However, the store has gone downhill over the past several years, starting around ... probably 2008. Their free shipping company changed, first switching to UPS, then to DHL. They no longer try to match shipments from multiple warehouses to get things to you on the same day. Their return policy is one of the worst on the net, requiring you to pay for shipping back to Newegg *and* with no option for cross-shipping. Their monitor return policy is particularly bad, and youll be hosed if you order an expensive monitor that comes with a few dead pixels. The one thing that hasnt gotten notably worse is the website - for the most part, the newegg website is still as easy to navigate as ever. Unfortunately, a great website does not a good store make.

I ordered a cyber monday deal on a new 40" TV through newegg via ebay. I get the delivery notification, but theres no TV. I contact newegg and they say it says its delivered. They close the case. I ask if they can help me resolve the issue with the shipper, no response. I do a dispute through ebay because of the "Money Back Guarantee". They do the same thing and close the case. So here I am with no TV and both newegg and ebay not helping at all resolve the issue. So not only did I miss out on other possible deals, but I get robbed of the money. I go to the UPS web site for disputes and it says I should have the seller start the case for the dispute since they have all of the pertinent information. I relay this to newegg and they are unwilling to help me resolve. Dont purchase from these guys. If anything goes wrong with shipping they will not help you with the issue. This is the worst customer service Ive ever received in my life. Ive been ROBBED. Thanks Newegg.......
