This business rates 5 stars based on the fact that I purchase 95% of my food at farmers markets or health food grocers. Theyre a good business, providing honest goods at a fair and sometimes excellent price. These other reviewers that are trying to drive away Lassens business need to realize that whatever Lassens does with their money has nothing to do with the service their business provides. Lassens provides a good service. This site is a place to rate a business on their products and service, not their beliefs. Im not a homophobe, or a church-goer. Whether Maharishi Ajurved or Mormon, I believe in everyones right to do what they want with their money that they earn in providing a viable service. Thats their private affair. To assault someones livelihood-- the work the do to put food on their table and roof over their head and their employees heads --because you dont agree with their beliefs, is really low, and wrong. Some employees at Lassens may give their hard-earned dollars to the gay community causes. When you attack their store YOU hurt those people too. You also hurt and rob any customers that depend on this store for goods that they deem important to their lives, or of the ability to purchase those goods locally and not have to drive or walk a lot farther. It seems really hypocritically hateful to slam a business this way.

Lassens in Oxnard closes at 7PM on Fridays. I dont know what it does on other days. It sure does not close at 9PM like it says on the Google listing. Many of the items are expensive - not WholeFoods expensive, but still over-priced. This particular Lassens in Oxnard was the very first Lassens. It is much smaller in comparison to the newer Lassens on Main St. There is no deli. The parking lot is not well lit at night and the parking lot exits are not easy to find. Still, the staff is helpful and the store seems clean.

This is definitely reminiscent of a reject whole foods. The store is cramped and looks dilapidated from the outside. The inside looks much better but the prices are the same as whole foods without the variety.

Tucked away in the corner of this shopping center is a bastion of healthy alternatives and green living. As they say, you can pay the grocer now or the doctor later.
