Ok, first, I tried...giving these guys my outdoor fishing, hunting, reloading and gun business many times. But time after time this place failed. First off, do not buy anything if you expect that you might want to return and get your money back. Even if its Christmas or if you buy different sizes to see what fits. They will tell you that you can only receive a store credit!! What year is this? So, after not coming back for months, I was in a bind with time and I needed to get some fishing equipment for a trip the following morning leaving at 4:00 a.m. It was 5:45 p.m. and the announcement echoes through the store "We are closing in 10 minutes please make your final selections and checkout at the front register". This is Saturday..Closing at 6? I still needed a bunch of things but couldnt locate them right away, I look around and two employees are over by the reels just chatting away and looking my way. Nothing in their heads saying "hey maybe we need to assist this guy so he finds and gets everything he needs before we close". A bit rushed and having over $100 worth of gear in my basket I went to the register because I still needed my fishing license. 5:50 p.m. I put my basket on the register and kindly asked to get the annual fishing license. I look around and two other employees are just hanging out by the front door. The register clerk says "We cannot sell you a license as the license register is already closed". I said, "Please can you turn it on as I need to leave tomorrow at 4 a.m." The clerk says "No, but Wal-Mart sells licenses down the road about a couple miles in that direction." I pushed the cart aside and left, to hell with these people. I couldnt believe it..these lack luster employees with crappy management and direction from the ownership, would rather me shop elsewhere than assist me. I normally dont do these kinds of write ups, but I felt I had to tell everyone that this place SUCKS. Drive up to Rocklin to the Sportsmans Warehouse. They have much better prices, stock and attitude.

3 weeks ago I purchased a shirt as a gift for my Dad who lives in WI. I asked about the return policy in case my Dad did not like the shirt. Steve said, "as long as it is a credit card purchase, we do not give cash back, and the item is returned in new condition with the tags on, we will credit your card". When I went to return the shirt today an employee named Glen was dismissive when I said I had a return. He stared at the receipt for an extended amount of time, held it up to the light like is was a counterfeit bill, then he gave the shirt a CSI examination and even smelled it! He directed me to find something for an exchange, and I thought "what the heck, Ill have a look around". When I told him I could not find anything, he was once a gain put off, and when I said "lets just credit my card back", he replied, "we dont do that; exchange or store credit only". I shared that is not what Steve said 3 weeks ago, and he basically said Steve made a mistake or was not clear on the policy. When we went to the cash register I could tell he was visibly annoyed because he had to make a card for in store credit. He was beating on the buttons on the cash register like a 3 year old having a temper tantrum. He then moved to another machine, produced the card, and handed it o me without saying a word. If I was his boss and I read this review Glen would be filing for unemployment; he is rude, off putting, dismissive, and seems to have anger issues (not a good thing with a lot of guns, ammo and knives about).

I will never shop here again!!! worst customer service i have ever experienced!!! I have been hunting all of my life and my dad has always told me to avoid that place. But it is so close to my house so I tried again and again to get along with the staff... I finally found a younger guy that was extremely nice and informative and he told me it was his last day because its impossible to get along with the rest of the staff. I was trying to purchase a Benelli Vinci ($1500) for my girlfriend as she got really into duck hunting with me this past season. We both looked the gun over and asked questions for about an hour. I wanted to be sure before I purchased a gun that expensive. He actually asked me if I "was done asking stupid questions yet" I tried to be polite and just say yes and purchase the gun. When it came time for paper work he looked at me with a smile and said" I WILL NOT SELL YOU THIS GUN AND I WANT YOU TO LEAVE MY STORE!" I didnt know why so i asked and he told me he didnt believe it was for my girlfriend! I exchanged words and left straight to SPORTSMANS WAREHOUSE where they were nothing but smiles and laughs and waaay more informative!! I also bought a duck hunting stool there for $115. It broke the first time I used it and they refused to take it back. I had the receipt and they are more than happy to upset their customers... I will never shop there again and I hope you wont either!

Great selection and Prices on some items. Give these people some slack, Ive purchased 2 firearms from them in the past (a benelli super black eagle and a Crimson Trace Kimber) On some visits i get perfect service, and on others i can definitely see what other people are talking about when they mention awful help. The only thing that i can say is put yourselves in these peoples shoes and consider the nature of the business. A firearm is not a toy, it is a dangerous tool used for hunting and self defense. I can only imagine the quality service i would offer if some moron came in and started asking ridiculous questions (can i convert this to full auto?) and wanting to paw all the guns. Yes, the customer is always right, but a certain level of intelligence is REQUIRED when purchasing a firearm. There is a reason why a licence is reqired to sell and buy these things afterall. So consider the answer you got with the question you asked. (Actual quote from a customer next to me: "Do you guys carry a gun like the one that 50 cent was shot with?") Wild Sports staff- if you ever read this, you guys could be a little bit more polite. Most of the employees are excellent, but a select few really do ruin it for everyone. "why dont you go check" is not an appropriate answer when im asking if you have any 230 grain, .45 ACP Hornady Hollowpoints in stock

First time going there. I dont know why ppl are giving this store such a bad reviews. It look just like every other gun stores to me. Me and my girlfrien were greeted welcome as we walked in through the door! Then we went about our business just looking around to see what they have and went over to the gun section and again, we were greeted nicely by the gun associate there. We ask to take a look at some of theyre handguns and he kindly went and brought out some handguns to show us. Ask a few more questions about guns for home defense and the staff was very knowledgeable in pointing out on what to choose base on our need. He show me how to work the guns since this is my very first time shopping for a handgun. And gave me some more info on where to go for range shooting to find what feels right for me before making a purchase. My advice to people, Dont try to insult the staff on theyre product then maybe youll be treated with respect. I work for retailers and I get that a lot from the most rudeness and obnoxious customer that thinks they know everything in the world that deserves to be treated like a king or queen as soon as they walk in through the door. Show some RESPECT before you can earn the respect. You get no RESPECT! if youre just gonna be an ASS-Hole.
