I originally reached out to Dave to resize my vintage gold, emerald and diamond engagement ring, which actually turned out to be about 3 sizes too big. Dave resized it, removed half of a butterfly clasp, and cleaned it up for me as well. It looked so amazing and his prices were very reasonable. Then I noticed that my center stone was loose, which happened b/c the stone was bigger than the original setting was designed to hold. He was able to redo the setting so it was stronger and looked cleaner than before. After having such a great experience with the resizing and viewing some of his beautiful pieces, my fiance and I made another appointment to discuss Dave designing and creating our wedding bands. My engagement ring is gold, but my fiance did not want a gold band, so Dave made my band in gold and my now husbands in titanium. We were getting married out on the coast, so we wanted to bring aspects of the ocean and cliffs into the rings. Dave came up with the spectacular idea of making my band kind of in a wave pattern and then have that pattern mirrored as an inlay in my husbands band. And when we went to pick up our rings, they were even more amazing than we imagined! I can say that the time Dave takes to get to know his customers really shows in the unique and meaningful pieces he creates. I will definitely be going back to Dave for all my jewelry design and repair needs.

My wife and I had our wedding rings made by Dave and they are amazing! When we came to Dave, we had just had a bad experience at another local Jeweler, and the difference couldnt have been more pronounced. Instead of pushing his own ideas, he was extremely patient and helped us design our own rings. This was a dream experience, he made us feel at home and created an atmosphere of co-creation where we were both very excited about the rings! He went out of his way to work with our desires (recycled gold and Lapis inlay) and created two stunning pieces of jewelry. We shared our design ideas and preferences and he gave great input and came up with the final design. We took our time and reviewed a number of designs. He never rushed us and did a great job answering our questions. Dave has an extraordinary sense of style and creates wonderful jewelry. He makes all of his own alloys and I thoroughly enjoyed discussing the technical aspects of our project and the art and science of jewelry making in general as well. Not only did we get rings, but we also left with a greater appreciation of jewelry. I didnt wear jewelry before having this ring, not even a watch, now I am excited every time I look down and see my ring! Seriously, if you want to custom jewelry Dave is your man.

Dave is an excellent jeweler and a pleasure to work with. Having little idea of what I wanted I booked an appointment for me and my fiancé to discuss a custom wedding ring set. The friendly dogs running around helped to set the relaxed tone so that I had ample time to mull over possible stones, settings, metals and designs. Dave showed me a number of pieces and drew some sketches to clarify various ideas. For the band we chose an embossed poppy flower pattern, for the diamond we took a stone from my grandmothers’ cocktail ring, and to flush it out we added two Andalusite stones which exhibit pleochroism, i.e. they change color in light. To pair with my ring my fiancé chose an oak leaf pattern that was embossed on a thicker band. I was very happy with our vision but I guess it was a little tricky to actually make. Dave tried a number of methods and fortunately had great success in the end. They both turned out beautifully! Dave also took the time to explain jewelry care, gem sourcing, and the pros and cons of different metals. I even heard about his grand 3-day wedding and got to know his wonderful family. I highly recommend Dave and Mercurius for unique and special pieces.

I found Dave through Etsy and contacted him about an engagement ring I wanted to make. I met with him and showed him the rudimentary design I had made after a month tinkering with a CAD program I had downloaded. In 30 minutes, he remade everything I had done, and added the things I wanted to do but lacked the skills for. We iterated on the design a bit, and then he made a really nice wax model, which I used to propose. My now-fiance loved it, and Dave finalized the design and 3D printed the pieces. I wanted to be involved in the process as much as possible, and Dave let me pour the yellow gold into the case (which included a short tutorial and a practice run on an old piece he had). Dave then put all the metal pieces together, carved the red jade I had found, sourced and set he perimeter diamonds, and resized the ring twice. The result is a ring we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Dave is super nice, down-to-earth, and extremely reasonable in his pricing. An amazing jeweler, and a more amazing human being.

David made our wedding rings and my engagement ring, and we love them. Mine were platinum and white gold from my mothers and grandmothers rings. My husbands ring was made from two gold rings-- his mothers and her late husbands. My husband is a kind of "macho" man who said he wasnt going to wear his ring. He thought hed wear the ring at the ceremony, then keep it in a drawer ever after... Once he put it on, though, he didnt want to take it off! My husband never takes his ring off! He sleeps, showers, and works with it on. David knew that my husband works hard with his hands all day, so he made the ring perfectly shaped to the finger bone. Its a brilliant design. I love my rings too-- classic and simple to my liking. Its also awesome that David is a certified green jeweler. I have referred David to every bride and groom-to-be that I know! He really knows his craft.

David is a true master. My engagement and wedding rings were butchered by Poons Jewelry (San Francisco). By the time I found David, I was filled with hopelessness. I didnt think anyone could save my rings. I was wrong... David carefully examined the items and explained in details how he could repair and revive my rings back to their beautiful state. Seeing how upset I was, he was gentle and compassionate with me. I really appreciate that! I am happy to say that he succeeded in bringing my rings back to their beautiful selves! If you want to work with a MASTER, David is the one.

We are thrilled with our rings that Dave made for our wedding and engagement. My husband and Dave worked together and created the most beautiful engagement ring, I have ever seen. For our wedding, he was patient and so helpful when we realized at the very last minute that we had completely forgotten to make the appointment for our bands. He made them beautifully and quickly. We love our rings and are so happy we had such a calm wonderful experience for our wedding.
