For the last 15 years Ive admired their very cool neon dog sign out front, but never made a point to stop by and check them out. About 4 years ago I was patronizing a facial salon in the building next to the Collar & Leash. Since I needed to stop by my regular pet store to get some more catnip on my way home and this was right there, I decided to stop in and save myself the extra trip to my regular pet store. While there, I couldnt find my regular brand of catnip but I found a brand of catnip called Enchantacat Organic Catnip with the leaves and buds. I had never seen this brand before and it was a little pricey by comparison to the other brands but it looked interesting and I figured Id saved more money in gas by just getting some catnip here than what the difference would be in having to make a special trip to my regular pet store for my usual brand. All 9 of my cats went nuts over the Enchantacat. Youd have thought the stuff was kitty crack they way they went after it. I live in Long Beach so when that one tub was finally empty I figured I could just find this brand somewhere closer to home and save myself the drive to W. Hollywood. Nope! Three major pet store chains and six mom & pop pet stores later, I found the only pet store that had this was Collar & Leash. Since I couldnt find Enchantacat I figured wed just go back to to our old brand. Nobody touched the catnip toys. Theyd come by and sniff and walk away. I then tried three other brands that I could get at my regular pet store and again all three brands were met with extreme apathy. On the verge of a cat mutiny, I found myself planing another trip back to the Collar & Leash. Since then I only get my catnip from there. And while Im there I always enjoy looking around at all of the other unique things that they carry for pets of all types. Cool place even just to browse and their prices arent any more expensive than most other pet stores, and their parking lot seems to always have a spot open for me so parking is a breeze and best of all FREE.

Sign says open 9am-9pm I stopped in Saturday 01/09/15 and it was locked at 5pm. I guess only one person works at the big store and locks it for her break. Last time I stop there. Another lady said same thing while we waited for someone to come back from break!!

They r great and hav it all (and great bunny supplies- NOT petco) bit expensive NOT as much as petco. Also great pet store is Animal Crackers.

Employees arent really stupid, they just dont care and they are hardly knowledgable. Prices have gone up, while selection has gone down.
