Literally all white people. Who ignore you as soon as you walk in (Im black) very sarcastic and with a disturbing dry sense of humor which just isnt friendly for the trauma that people are trying to escape. It was absolutely horrifying sitting there for two hours waiting for the second packet and being treated as if my legitimate questions about rules and such were exasperating and annoying. I waited for two hours for a second packet while the woman just ignored me and told me to wait. The people are so damn... creepy. It reminded me of a version of GET OUT. I could tell immediately that I wasnt accepted and wouldnt fit in. The fact that I had been through so much and just needed a break from the cruelty in the world wasnt enough. The intake coordinator will ask a question and as soon as you start trying to open up and be honest SHELL STOP YOU AND SAY I DONT NEED TO KNOW ALL THAT. For all the white or other races out there Im sure youll do fine. But for the strong black women with strong personalities WONT WORK. Theyll become as defensive as you feel inmidiately because your not quiet. Well Im pregnant and have been getting beat on for four months so excuse me if Im not as sweet and gentle as youd like... I really regret making this trip. It was a waste of gas and time. The intake coordinator was happy to see me walk out the older lady who sits at the desk was as nice as its gonna get but unfortunately that wasnt enough. I ran back to the streets once I saw how compassionless they were and how it was all SIMPLY A JOB IF YOU WERENT THE RIGHT RACE.

Well I can tell you that it isnt for everybody. If you have had just one drink or smoke of drugs or alcohol the case manager will have you go to substance abuse programs. And just keep in mind that they will take your phone, wic, EBT card, and any sorce of money you have. They will tell you which jobs they want you to do and if you dont work those jobs you arent fit for the program. the teachers of the classes there will try to push their ideas on you. the staff will try to get you to do things in your pregnancy your way. and they will have you leave the emergency housing monday, wednesday, and Friday, all day on your feet in the heat to search for jobs. even though the job applications are online. So if you have a set goal of what you want done and how you are going to raise your child, be prepared for them to butt in and control everything you do.
