I purchased a door, door sidelite, door frame and door hardware from Homewood. My experience purchasing the door was not bad. They have the word "door" in their name so I expected they knew what they were doing. The problems began when we went to install the door and door frame. The mortise and hardware preps on the frame where incorrect AND the sidelite was 2" too short in width. It was suppose to be a 14" lite and it came out as a 12" lite. Initially, when I mentioned the issue to Homewood - I was told that it was my issue because it was my job to inspect the door when I picked it up to be sure its what I ordered. You mean to tell me that I should open up my door hardware and dry fit it in their parking lot to be sure it is prepped correctly before I leave with the product. To be honest, since the company has "door" in their name I just assumed that a simple door like this would be a no brainer. It did not take too long for me to explain and for them to accept it was a Homewood problem. After Homewood accepted accountability, it took seven (7) weeks to get the new sidelite and frame reordered. That was twice as long as the 1st time around for everything. Keep in mind that they make their own door frames. I got so many excuses - how one employee thought another was taking care of it and the other thought that person was taking care of it. Or, can we just re-make the frame to accept a 12" sidelite instead of ordering a 14" sidelite. It took a personal visit to their office (because my phone calls were not being returned) and for me to have to give them a step by step process via email on what they need to do in order to establish commitments which they barely ended up keeping the 2nd time around. BUT, we are still not done yet. I prefinished my door, sidelite and door frame, so I requested that Homewood prefinish the new sidelite and door frame. The painter had the door and frame for almost seven (7) business days. Homewood picked up the door sidelite and frame and delivered it to my house. Guess what? Both were not properly painted and have "holidays" on the sidelite and door frame. AMAZING! The painter did step up and say he would fix whatever he needed to make it right. I just wish that tenacity was there when it was in their shop. The guys at Homewood did not seem to care as it wasnt Homewood who painted it. I will say that painter they used has been cool about the whole ordeal and I like that. The customer service at Homewood is embarrassing - but they seem to not care. Not once did management ever check-in on the issue until I made them aware of how poorly they handled this situation. If I were the owner of this company I would be embarrassed - the excuse that I was given is they are "busy". Therefore, too busy to maintain customer service or just a simple follow-up. What if the economy slows down then would you feel inclined to help me? It should not work that way. Here is all Homewood management had to say - "Hi, I am sorry that we made the mistake on your door frame and sidelite. I checked with my team and heres our plan to make this right [lay out plan here with dates and commitments]. In the meantime, heres my direct phone number if you have any questions or issues then please give me a call. Again, we are sorry for our oversight, we do value your business, and are working to do our best to keep it by fixing this in a timely manner". I will never purchase a product from them again both personally or in business.

Chris Kirshy (Windows) always comes through with quick solutions, and doesnt try to hard sell anything. Just wants his customers to get what theyre looking for. Bill Benson (Doors) is very knowledgeable about his job, and takes his business seriously. He comes out to the job site to check on things and talk with the contractors so that all the gaps are filled. Friendly staff over all. Really appreciate their service.

Bought some deck lumber from them, made the mistake of having it having it delivered instead of handpicking it myself as a third of the batch I got were bad. Its a decent place to buy lumber, just pick it yourself, their prices are a bit cheaper than big box stores and they had more variety.
