Dont come to this Sonic in Gilroy. I pulled up to the drive in lane where your order with the press of a button while you sit in your car. First off I could barely hear the guy taking my order, it almost sounded as if the guy was whispering to me. The person next to us had the same problem. I could tell because she kept yelling "WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU". To make things worse the guy could barely hear me even though I was yelling and really close to the mic. There was no road noise at all so that had nothing to do with it. So anyways, I order and this being my first time use the drive in lane I asked "so I just pay here and the food will be brought to me?" The employee replies "Yep thats how it works!". So i try to pay. All of my cards say "error" I tried 3 of my cards and all failed to be read. So I figure I will wait for my food to be brought and ask the employee to help. So I wait... And wait... And wait.. 25 minutes later still no food. So I get tired of waiting and go ask an employee why it is taking so long and the card read is no accepting my card. He says "oh none of the drive ins are working. They are all out of order today because we are short staffed. Ok? Well someone took my order and said they will bring my food out. He replies "no you have to go through the drive through after you place your order... The whole point was to order in my parked car and avoid the drive through.. Apparently it has been a problem all day. Well if it was a problem all day then maybe an employee should go out and put SIGNS UP SO IM NOT WAITING 25 MIN FOR FOOD THAT ISNT EVEN GOING TO COME. By the time I got my food it was cold and I complained. But was any solution offered? Nope! I could go on and on. They said it was because they were so short staffed. Well I counted 6 employees, that seemed like more than enough to handle a "crowd" of 7 cars... One was just out in the corner of the parking lot sweeping the same spot for a while. Also, before I left I went to use the bathroom. I cant speak for the womans bathroom, but the mens was by far the worst restroom I have ever been in. There was toilet paper everywhere, pee all over the floor. I could tell it was urine because there was a whole roll of TP on the floor that had soaked up alot of yellow liquid. So Im assuming it was urine. Toilet was over flowed with urine and all over the seat. Looked like it hadnt been cleaned in weeks. Will never come back.

I just went to Sonic Yesterday (Sunday April 25, 2010).. i heard there was a sonic here in gilroy so i drove from seaside and took a little road trip to find it lol... we sat outside and ordered stuff for all of us (2 kids 2 adults).. it took them about 5 minutes to get our order, and we ate.. it was BOMB!.. worth the drive... im glad they are here, last time i was at a sonic, it was in Bakersfield... and it was so hot i dint even feel like eating lol we stayed in gilroy after we ate lunch, since we drove kind of out of our way.. and right before we went back home,. we stopped back again, they have happy hour at 2pm.. so we bought 4 slushees and the total was around 3 dollars... great experience.

Let me start off by saying that this is one of the Sonic Drive Ins I have ever been to. I have been there three times and every single time they screw stuff up. They screwed up my fathers order THREE times. He literally had to yell at them, because they messed up. The second time, they just took forever to get our order. This past time( Twenty minutes ago) they gave me the wrong sandwich. They had the order right, but they gave me something different. Just about every other Sonic I have been to has been great, but this one is terrible.

The last 4 times coming here has made me never want to bring my business here again, used to love sonic in Texas. Yet this store in California is a joke, service is always terrible and the car hops always look at you like your supposed to give them a tip for doing nothing more than trying to look cool on skates when they bring your food, they always mess up on your order and it never fails for them to find a way of getting it wrong, and most of the employees just plain have terrible attitudes towards customers.

I always go for the tots (Sweet!) with the Chicago dog combo; Decided on the #4 bacon cheeseburger combo. Knew something was wrong when the drive-thru menus are still unlit and arrow sign still broken. Got the usual barely legible order taker. Didnt even ask what i wanted (fries,tots,rings or if i wanted coke!). Fixed that at window. Drove off and discovered worst burger ever! Texas toast bun was mashed paper thin and saturated with salty meat. I may never go back. Even for the tots.

First time at a sonic... better than most fast food, Burger not quite as good as in n out, but still great, good selection. Reasonably priced. Decent veggies on the Burger,in a good quantity. Juicy Burger, well built. Good chili dog, both the hot dog and chili were better than most fast food places (not very filling though, I could eat 5 no problem, taste so good Id want a sixth). Like the car hop service, kinda relaxing I didnt try the drinks or fries

Most positive reviews seem to be from people out of town but I live here and have given up. I love the drinks and have given them multiple chances and have gotten worse and worse service with rude employees every time mistakes with my order, cant tell me how much my order cost before I get to the window and always forgetting at least one thing every time I pull off. Terrible service used to put up with it now I tell everyone to stay away.

Omg, I cant even believe I witnessed this. One of the skater chicks dropped someones order. It was a big order and she made a big mess. I bet she got fired. idk how they deal with their employees, but she made me laugh. Maybe Ill just put a rock in the parking lot so I can see that again :D Although, I dont really care for their food, especially anything potato. The tater tots were not fresh maybe? And the fries are just gross

Its the closest sonic to us. We only get it when we road trip it. The foods always hot, but theres usually a wait. The drinks arent ever consistent though.. even though I get the same thing each time- even if its tasty, consistency would be good. I appreciate the effort though.. the drive thru tends to confuse people if theyve never been there before.. signs could be a bit more obvious for it. Lol

I actually like this place for the food and drinks but the service is sub par ...I have been there and gotten slow service and this morning I went there to grab some breakfast at 8:45 ... parked and pressed the button for service ... no answer ... then I went to the drive thru and there was no response ... I could heard a bit of laughing through the box ... ended up driving away ...
