I used to go to Gotham now and again to play Magic the Gathering, but quickly stopped when my girlfriend was sexually harassed by one of the players. I dont recall if staff did anything about this or not, I simply stopped playing there. Since it had been awhile I decided to drop by again just to shop. While I was there, I found some fake Pokemon cards for sale in one of their boxes. I brought them to an employees and he told me that it was "okay, because kids dont know the difference". I find that lack of integrity really unnerving. Its not limited to product either, in the past, theyve screened bootleg movies (still in theaters) on their TVs and openly discussing sharing the illegally downloaded movies with each other and customers. I dont feel comfortable shopping where this sort of shadiness is commonplace, and feel others should know in case they plan to shop there. The employees probably wont tell you if something is counterfeit, at least not if theyre anything like the guy I talked to. Its worth mentioning that some of the employees seem fairly nice, but Im too worried about getting ripped off to risk shopping here anymore. :/

This is a great little comic shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I took my 2 boys 11 and 13 for an Open House they were having. Each received a free comic for the first visit! We spent about 3 hours there with the boys reading different favorites in the "Customer" section on some comfy sectionals. I took advantage of the free Wi-Fi to get a little work done. They also had medium sized screens playing the movies "Tron" and selections from the "Star Trek" series. There is also a seperate gaming area with about 5 or 6 X-Box stations, where you can try out games before you purchase or they also let you bring your own! We did not try these out but as this shop has quickly become a fave of the boys, we will be back again soon. So if have kiddos (or want to revisit that inner kiddo) ya gotta go to Gotham City Comics!

I dont really know what to think or say. I brought some stuff in to have it looked at , not sure i wanted to even sell them but I was told everything i had was basically trash and maybe would give me at most $5.00 for a milk crate full of old comics, i would have to say 50 to 60. I know some were read a lot more than others . But a 19** billy the kid i looked up and was min. 7.00 and max 15.60 . But business needs to make $ as well so. But i am confused because I have sold stuff to them before and now I have a thought of have i been taken for a ride. Cant do anything about it now. But thoughts. I really like this place from the people to the hours. And the chatting with. So i will rate 5 stars but I have a concern that some things dont get looked up for a resdon. But i need to know what stuff is worth before going in.

To be honest this store has to be , hands down the worst place I have visited to try and buy and sell comics, maybe it was a bad experience because there was only one worker that night we drove all the way from the west side of town after being told on and off for 2 days to come in and bring our comics in to sell, I got all the way down there to find out that we were going to wait 45mins while the employee helped everyone else but us, even tho he started to help us but then suddenly went on helping others making us feel like we werent there or just arrived. So he liked some of the comics to where 1hr 1/2 later he said he didnt need any comics at all and said Thanx for your time following a few smart azz remarks , so it was not a great experience that being we drove 40mins to sit with thumbs up our butts for over 1hr 1/2

If you are a Whovian then come here on Tuesday nights for Whosdays!!! It starts at 6pm and goes until 9pm. We watch a mixture of different episodes, a few of the old ones, one old one from the reboot seasons and then one from this current season. At the end of each episode there are trivia questions from the episode, and at the end of the night the answer sheets are collected. The MCs will take them home to put with you other answer sheets and score them, then at the end of the "trivia cycle" whomever has the most points wins a prize! Its a wonderful place to come to watch and discuss Doctor Who, anything from characters to theories about the seasons. There is also quite a great deal of Doctor Who toys, mugs and other fun items that you can buy from the shop. So please come and visit us on Tuesday nights from 6-9pm!

Kevin and Miguel, the owners, not only can pick the right book for your personality and mood, but brew the most awesome superhero themed custom coffee drinks and Italian sodas. They and their staff have encyclopaedic knowledge of Marvel, DC, and the independents. And they have figures and toys, Magic tournaments, D&D nights, Dr. Whos-day, a video game room with 5 HD screens and recliners (with cupholders!). Go here. Shop here. For you, for your kids, for your parents. Have a Super Soldier Serum (triple shot hazelnut latte) hot or cold, and peruse the awesomeness. There may even be He Man or Voltron playong on the TV. Sweet!

Great little shop. I dont recommend stressing out about trying to park on Main street. Park behind the buildings and go thru the very obvious and colorful entrance in the back into the shop. Lots of selection. Not the place though if you are looking for Manga I will say that. Prices are better than Samurai Comics on Country club and Southern with friendlier staff (which is always a plus). Sometimes can take me a while to find the comic I am looking for though as some are mixed up in the stacks where they shouldnt be. Overall great place though. Highly recommend.

Great staff, comic books, and gaming! I am a semi-regular who enjoys the comic inspired drinks and the atmosphere. On Tuesdays I was a part of a regular D&D session and there is a role-playing group on Wednesdays that I like to stop by and hang-out with as well. Great selection of comic book and knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect graphic novel or the next in a series. Since the Marvel and DC revamp I have renewed interest in graphic novels, and Gotham Comics either has it in stock or can order it! Love this place!

Best comic shop in the valley. No pretension or comic-store snobbery here. They have a pretty good gaming area, and their back-issue policy is great. Most common back issues are sold at cover price, not inflated markups like most other shops. They have a cool selection of action figures and a huge graphic novel section. Its in a cool part of downtown Mesa, and its worlds above the old Atomic Comics. I havent tried the coffee, and Im a little apprehensive. I think the staffs skills are more comic-related, and less barista.

Awesome staff! super knowledgeable, and helpful. And the coffee is freaking great. I got the Super Soldier Serum cold coffee (they are all themed) and it was ridiculous. I was so amped with caffiene and righteousness I went out immediately and started fighting crime and injustice. When I was done I went back for some awesome comics from their great collection. Oh and they organize a great Free Comics Day event with local shops all up and down the street giving out comics and doing the treasure hunt.
