The folks here, on average, are very helpful. The only time I got put off was when I was trying to determine if they were going to get a new shipment of stain and the individual responsible didnt seem like it was his job to help out in anyway (this has been the case in this department in general, so at least he is consistent!). Luckily, this attitude isnt the same in the other parts of the store. The lady (Cheryl, I believe her name is) at the back counter is the most helpful individual Ive come across. Of all the lumber companies Ive been to in the DC metro area, this is the one I recommend the most. Helpful, resourceful and they definitely are glad to have your business!

Thank you Tart Lumber for the awesome customer service you provided my family and I over this past week. We received an estimate from Home Depot for material to build a deck and got a second opinion from Tart Lumber. Not only did we save lots of money, but we also met 2 very helpful guys (Greg Rhatican & Dusty) who pointed out the many flaws of the Home Depot quote we received. They took the time to answer all my questions and explained all the different items on the quote. I really appreciate them going above and beyond.

I was referred by the manufacturer of a product to come here so they could help identify and order a part that I needed. I arrived with part in hand. I was told (complaining) that in order to identify and order the part, it would take 45 minutes to look through the catalog which would mean Id have to pay a markup of 625% from the MSRP of $8. Be careful about getting ripped off by "high prices" due to "extra work". Guess this is how the mom and pop business stay around.

Dave Kessel and team were amazingly kind and helpful for my sons Eagle Project. (They help local Scouts all the time- incredibly generous and supportive!). They gave us a sweet deal on the lumber and great project advice. My son Sam will be sending Tart Lumber some pictures of the completed project (a big shed he built for Lift Me Up!, a therapeutic horseback riding center in Great Falls, VA.) THANK YOU TART LUMBER!! I went there not knowing exactly what I needed. Debbie C. was patient while I figured out how many of each length and size of Kleer trim board I needed to buy. Someone else also assisted me with stainless steel screws and router bits. I was even able to return a box of stainless steel screws I didnt have a receipt for. I will DEFINITELY be using them more in the future...even though theyre a bit farther from my house.

I bought a Therma Tru door a few years ago and needed a replacement part. I called Therma Tru and they told me to work through Tart Lumber, their local distributor. I think that the door is no longer a current product and the part was a minor one. So impressed with Troy who worked with me to identify the part and have it sent to my house. True support of their products! Thanks Troy!

One of the best home contractor experiences Ive had. I had a rotting bay window repaired and Tarts crew showed up on time, cleaned up nicely after the job, and the finished product exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely use them again for future work.
