They have some really cool stuff, and MoMA us a deserving organization. Some of their tchotchkes are downright tacky; some of their design books gimmicky. But there is also plenty for the serious designer. Prices are high on most goods, especially the nicely printed books (which do deserve special treatment). The proceeds support the museum so it works out. The staff member who checked me out was nice but the manager was incredibly rude. They didnt process my volunteer discount properly and the manager suggested that I didnt actually have it and was wasting her time. This is ridiculous and offensive, and I wont have someone lecture me after I donated many hours to the museum.

Almost every item theyre selling is worth looking at, fondling & contemplating. I took away one rating star because (of course) its all too expensive to actually buy, but then decided to add it back in because the securitys so good about not hassling you & on the other side no sakes personel to bother you either. We must have been there for at least an hour. And they have really good umbrella bags that they do insist you use as youre entering the store on rainy days.

If you need a quirky gift idea, or even just an original one, come here! Museum stores always have the best stuff, and this one is the creme de la creme! You can easily spend an entire afternoon in here, walking around, checking out every single thing - because every single thing is something SO cool! Prices of course are on the higher end of the spectrum, but, so is the quality - so for a good gift idea for someone you love, check this store out!

Unique gift shop at its best. If you are visiting New York and looking for cool souvenirs or just running out of the gift ideas to your friends and family - this is the best place to go. It has anything from small chachkies and books to clocks and lamps. Interior decor items are very unique and you probably anything like that anywhere else, maybe except for MoMA museum shop. Definitely would recommend.

This is a fun store to browse and just see the fun blend of art and design in normal utensils and devices. However, I dont think Id ever actually purchase anything here (I cant justify the cost when non-artsy equivalent designs are significantly cheaper). But its definitely a fun place to peruse and bring out of town friends. Somehow Ive even ended up here on dates, its a blast pretty much every time.

This is an ideal store if you want to get a unique gift for an event or someone. Theres a downstairs where they also feature several books. The price ranges here vary quite a bit ranging from items you can buy in the 10-20$ range all the way to something in the 1000s. This might be a good place to also pick up a souvenir if you are visiting the city and want to buy something unique and functional.

The lack of good design stores in NYC makes this store stand out like a sore thumb. Great gift ideas in literally every price range, from kitchenware to tabletop items to desk accessories to books to childrens toys, all beautifully designed to fit their function. Okay, maybe the stuff isnt particularly edgy -- Im looking at you, Aalto vase -- but not every designer was born in the East Village.

MoMA design store is always a lot of fun to visit. Great place to find unexpected gifts. I love the housewares they have, so many of them are cleverly design and make you ask "why didnt anyone ever think of this before?" They have a good book section, as well, and the kids section is adorable. Some of the items are astronomically expensive, but theres a lot of affordable things mixed in there.

Stopped by for the new Kickstarter pop-up line (theyre selling Kickstarter funded products for the next 2 months) and fell in love with the entire stores contents. Kitchenwares, housewares, gifts, adorable kids items, so many pretty (and useful) things that I didnt know I needed. If only I could afford to outfit my entire apartment from this store.

Fun to visit, fun to purchase here. A good place to pick up the "not so normal" addition to your house, kitchen, or addition to your jewelry collection. Also, if looking for a unique but NY influenced gift, a great place to look. Service is friendly and you can tell that most people enjoy working there and supporting MoMA.

A two stories shop to get a nice piece of design, it could be a book, some toy, a scale model of a famous design chair, coffee gadgets, watches, jewelry, furniture and electronics. Expanded offer from the museum shop. Youll spend Up to your taste but you can get cool things from: $60.00 All Credit Cards and Cash.

Location is good, assortment of stuff as well, but why does things here (that you can find in other places) really cost so much more ? I do not see a valid explanation for that. It is not all exclusive itens, and that is the main reason for my question. worth a visit, but be aware you do get better prices sometimes

Cuando haces una compra superior a 50 $ te dan un descuento de 25 $ para el MOMA, por lo que es recomendable ir antes a la tienda que al museo

Unique gifts is what you can discover here esp for the person who has everything. Lots of fun stuff you could wear or just have around the house. The Nebula Necklace with Opalescent Glass made from Lara Knutson... a student from Parson is one of my favorite discoveries. Love the way it reacts to light.

One on the perks when i worked at ABC network was a free pass to MOMA this was my first introduction to the museums inimitable art works. The appeal is one thats unmatched art works along with its exterior and interior design. The museum service is 98% on key and 2% some-what off par.

Toys R Us for adults! Wonderfully designed unique products for all of the adults in your life. They also have great sales. I got a 2013 planner for $1. I have to drag myself out of the store each time I go. Great place for wedding gifts, if the recipient has any taste, theyll like it.

I love this place. I got a jacob jensen watch here on sale and the people were really nice. Unfortunatly, it got some water damage and i had to get it fixed. The people at the MoMa store were really helpful, and I walked out with a replacement watch the same day. I love this store.
