I picked up my wedding dress today from The Wedding Bell. Lets start off by saying I wish I had yelped this place before I even stepped a foot in the door. Buying my wedding gown there was by far the worse experience I have ever had. Keeping a very long story short...I ordered a beautiful Maggie Sottero dress. I had to keep calling them to ask when they thought my dress would arrive... VERY POOR COMMUICATION. I made my first dress fitting the day my dress came in. I got to the store and the assistant helping me put the dress on was standing on my dress... kneeling on my train and put my cap sleeves on backwards She made a mess of the laces in the back, not caring what they looked liked. She obviously didnt know a thing a bout wedding gowns. After that I made my appointment for alterations in July. Katie, was the seamstress. She took all the measurements, pinned the dress...it was way too big! It was going to cost $400.00 to take in the sides, adjust the snaps on the dress for the sleeves to fit properly, attach the rhinestone belt and add 2 snaps and an eye hook for the bustle .Lucky I didnt buy the bigger dress size they recommended! Katie told me my next appointment in September would be to bring my dress home just in time for my wedding. I went in the store on 9-22-14. The sash was not attached, my cap sleeve snaps werent on and, Katie, took the dress in about 4" too much. I was told Katie did not work there anymore, and that the notes had been lost. I dont know why they didnt call me to inform me of this so I could have made another appointment for a fitting so my dress would be ready when I needed it. A new seamstress started to help me... pinning everything again and looking at my cap sleeves. She pinned the sleeves on, and my Mom noticed they did not look right. She asked the seamstress to unpin them. They were on the WRONG arms! Then the seamstress went and grabbed a razor blade and sliced open both seams under my arms to make more room since Katie ruined it the first time. I was in tears. I then had to make an appointment for the following day 9-23-14 AND had to make another 3 hour roundtrip from my home to go back to this place again!! After I put the dress on, the seamstress, tucked in the removable back piece that goes under the laces. It was not the one that came with the dress, the one I had just had fitted the day before! It looked white compared to the ivory color of the dress, and had lace added that passed the top of the piece...totally different than the one I had paid for! She said she had made a new one and now could not find the original one when my Mom demanded that she put the original one on me. At that point I broke down in tears. The Manager, came back and brought me a tissue. that was it.... no sorry, NOTHING. The manager then tried to put on another back piece that was not the one that came with my dress! I sat there with my Mom for over 3 hours waiting for them to finish my dress. AVOID THIS PLACE! THEY ARE TERRIBLE. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone.

Reading the reviews, I could see how one would be scared off. Some people tried to warn me away but I know a couple people personally who got their dresses here (to include my best friend, and I was at her appointment) and they didnt have any problems. I decided to make an appointment knowing I could always walk away if I wasnt happy. My appointment was September 17th, 2016 with Shelly and she was fantastic. I felt zero pressure, she complimented the way dresses fit me (Im chunky and self conscious) and made me feel very comfortable to be there. She pulled only dresses in my price range and made sure to pull the dresses on the list I had made before hand. I told her my favorite and she brought that out first. She was also very accommodating and patient with my peanut gallery that insisted on seeing all types of dresses, jewelry, and veils.. to include going back and forth between a couple of those items. Never once did she seem annoyed or put out. It was truly a fun and relaxed experience and I ended up falling in love with the dress that was my favorite from online. Moving on. When I decided on my dress I was given a cute little sign and Shelly happily took pictures of me and my guests. We then moved back into the dressing room for measuring. First Shelly measured me and wrote down what she got, then a second woman (wish I could remember her name.. she was also pleasant) came in and remeasured to make sure that the two separate measurements matched up. After that we were shown a chart with sizes that seemed to be closer to street sizes (I ordered a Maggie Sottero dress). The chart starts with what you measured at for bust, waist, and hips and then you follow it it over and it tells you what dress size to order based off of your measurements. I fell awkwardly between 16 and 18, they are required to advise you to buy the larger size, but I was closer to 16 and my wedding is 9 months away so thats what I went with. She told me the dress can be altered down about 4 sizes but cannot be altered up hardly at all. We asked about cost of alterations and we were told usually between $200-$600 but it really depends on how much it has to be altered and if you make any special requests. (This made sense and was understandable). I ordered my dress same day. *BONUS* you get some super awesome discounts if you order a dress at your 1st appointment. My dress is expected to arrive sometime in January and they recommend starting alterations about 3 months prior to wedding day. They also store your dress until your wedding day, with insurance, for a flat rate of $25! I imagine that my experience should continue to go well, and I will be updating this review when that time comes.

I found the Wedding Bell online and was excited given the great reviews. I called the store and let them know me 700 budget and asked if there was a decent selection that would meet that. I was told I would find many dresses under 700 so i made my apt. When I arived with my Mom and friend I again anounced my budget and pulled some dresses that meet my price range.. next thing I knew she was throwing me in the dresses I didnt pick out and handing the ones I did out the door to another sales woman with a customer with a much higher budget... I never saw those again... well.. next thing I knew all the dresses she put me in were 850 and up and the one I feel in love with she wouldnt let me look at rthe price until I showed my Mom and let her tell me how pretty I looked and how out of the five stores this dress was top! I was excited!.. un till I looked at the 1,100 price tag!! I couldd only get a discount it I took the size 12 sample when in a size 2! Im sorry, but I find it very unprofeshional to show a customer something way out of their reach... might I mention that this jump in price happened after I mentioned my husband was over in Iraq and has been in the army for 5 years.. everyone knows they make more over there but I am not close to overspending the hard earned money my husband makes fighting for our country... I felt VERY disrespected, like I was cheap, and there was something wrong with me because I didnt want to go 400 over my budget. I left in tears.. I feel this was the worst exsperiance I have had yet....maybe your exsperiance will be better, but I warn anyone who is not willing to spent 1000 and up that there are much better stores out there that will meet your budget and show you and your bridal pary respect.
