Im DONE with BAM. My husband and I went in to get a fiction novel and an art book. Thankfully the novel was easy to find. However, after searching the store from front to back, the art section wasnt to be found... So we found associate #1. She was fixing books on the back shelf, sitting on the floor. Couldnt be bothered to get up to help us, but directed us back to the front of the store to have someone else use the computer to see if they had any of the books we were looking for. Associate #2 was dragged away from vacuuming long enough to tell us that their computer wouldnt really work well to find the kind of book we were looking for, but she could lead us to the art section... which was three rows in front of associate #1. She commented that associate #1 was new, so apparently that made everything okay. She then told us that the art section wasnt organized very well, but she was sure we could find what we were looking for there. Then left us. To say that it wasnt organized is an understatement. Im fairly sure it hasnt been touched by an employee in months. After searching for nearly 10 minutes in utter frustration, we head up to the front to check out with the novel from the beginning of the journey. Associate #3 materialized, walked to the registers, hesitated, then told us to head over to the coffee shop register to check out since the cashier was in the bathroom. Im fairly sure this is when my eye started twitching in frustration. Once at the coffee register, associate #4 spent five minutes cleaning something in the sink and checking one of the machines before acknowledging us. He seemed confused to see us in general. I explained being sent over to check out because the cashier was in the bathroom. More confusion ensued. I then asked for corporates number. He just blank stared at me, deer-in-headlights style while vaguely looking at the screen, shuffling some sale pamphlets, and telling me "no.... no, i dont think i... no"..... I was then asked if I was trying to return something. Thankfully he managed to call for a manager when I asked him. Apparently associate #3, WAS the manager. He came over, we went back over the conversation of wanting to be checked out AND given corporates number. He turned, to associate #4, horrifically shocked, and asked, "What did you do?!" Apparently he also didnt have corporates number, but offered to give me a survey! Then he proceeded to ring us up at the coffee register. I went home and found corporates number in less than ten seconds on their webpage.

I do not understand why anyone in Winchester would shop for books here, between Blue Plate Books and The Winchester Book Gallery there is an infinitely better selection, prices and service. The bathrooms are always dirty and most of the sections are not organized the manga section in particular is always missing several volumes of the series I want to purchase. I once overheard a clerk talking to a customer saying that the section she was looking in was a mess, the customer answered "This whole store is a mess."

My favorite local bookstore around! Great books! Good service. Comfort atmosphere. A great place for some quiet, meet new people, and chat with friends or family. Also the little cafe Joe Muggs is also really good. Great coffee and bakery type sweets. Good prices. & Since Borders went out of business this is the only other local bookstore or place that Ive found that sells chocolate covered sunflower seeds.

I do not understand how this store could have gotten any stars. It is disgusting!! The bathrooms always look like they have never once been cleaned, with toilet paper, feces, and more covering every surface! The store itself isnt even very nice compared to other companies, such as Barnes & Noble or Borders. I do not understand why Borders went out of business but Booksamillion did not.

I went in last year to buy music, and the cashier charged me for a membership against my instructions. I had to ask for a supervisor to get the transaction reversed. Turns out it was set for automatic renewal. Now I have to get back the money they took and contact my bank to make sure it cant happen again. If you are forced to use them, I recommend cash.

Had 3 books on hold on Wed. Went Friday to pick up the books only to find they gave the last copy of one of the books to someone else and said sorry there is nothing they could do about it. Had to drive to Manassas Barnes and Noble to get the only book left. Thanks BAM no more business from me.

The only reason I wouldnt give this store 5 stars is because I went in to buy a bible and spent over an hour looking for one because they were not organized by ANYTGING. They need to organize by VERSION at least. And then by print size would be helpful! Had NO ORGANIZATION ST ALL

I had to walk to the front counter for assistance. The girl seemed to be alone. She did not walk back with me. She warned me that the childrens section was not organized. Really? Thanks for the warning.

Felt bad that I had to pull the Joe Muggs attendant away from her book so she could make me a $4 frappe that was missing half the ingredients.
