The staff at this location is AH-MAZING! I was waiting patiently in line to get a piece of the vegan pizza and the young lady working, who was obviously very busy and stressed, helped me with a bright cheery smile on her face. She even, despite having at least 4 other people in line to help behind me, changed her gloves out so she could handle my vegan pizza without contamination from the other non-vegan options. Im not that particular about my veganism, but I sincerely appreciated her taking the extra seconds to ensure my dietary needs were met. I always feel like "that person" when I have to ask questions about the ingredients used in food, or the preparation specifics, but the staff at this location has never made me feel in the way, or a nuisance at all for asking. Particularly the man at the bakery section, when I asked about the type of sugar used in the baking, went out of his way to explain to me, and show me, the type used. If I could give this store more stars I would!

This rating applies only to the Whole Foods Market in Richmond, Virginia. Most Whole Foods Markets are fantastic! Its typically our favorite grocery store. The Whole Foods Market in Richmond, VA is a notable exception. The service was terrible. The staff obnoxious, petty, condescending, and rude. They were more focused on their interactions with each other than helping customers. The food on the hot bar was dry and old. The quality and selection were poor. The lady stocking the hot bar was friendly and helpful (an outlier in a poorly staffed wasteland of customer service); unfortunately the food was awful. We had a terrible experience. His is our fourth visit so we must assume this is standard for this location. Avoid at all costs.

I am very disappointed with your Vegan selections. Non GMO Non Dairy, Meat Free should be available with more options and selections. Your hot food bar does not have much on it for vegans. Also I wish your buyer would get some items we have seen in the Maryland locations, and in Charoletteville, VA location. The Non GMO Dairy and Meat Free Vegetarian Chicken Salad and Tuna Salad....made by ASMARS Mediterranean Food. Also, your hot bar does not have many selections on it. As the world becomes more and more awakened to the plights and the abuse of animals, it is imperative that customers get the vegan foods they need! Thankyou

Ive always been a Whole Foods fan until I became violently ill after eating their "vegan" pizza yesterday. Something tasted different to me and the cheese looked a bit different than usual but I trusted the vegan sign and continued to eat the delicious slice of pizza. Within hours I was ill and thought, "I dont think that was vegan pizza after all.". I am lactose intolerant so the supposed vegan cheese had to have been what make me so sick. Food allergies are no joke and Whole Foods has always been my go to but after that experience, I will think again before trusting a "vegan" sign.

How can you say enough about this place ! This is more than just a grocery store. They have brick oven pizza , Cheese Bar, Wine Bar, beer on tap , hot food bar, olive bar, salad and other cold food. Go get something to eat, sit in the Pub, have a beer or glass of wine, or if you prefer a non-alcoholic treat , have a glass of Kombucha. They have it on tap at the bar. If you like cheese , ask to do a wine flight and take your wine Choice list to the cheese counter and ask them to put you a cheese flight together that will go with your wine selection.(THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB AT THIS!!)

I never go to Whole Foods because of their over priced organic crap but I found out they are the only ones who sell chia bars and honey stingers which I eat when Im cutting tedding raking or baling hay. Every time I walk in everyone stops and looks at me like Im a freak, my hands and pants mite be covered in grease but at least Im not like any other 17 year old who just likes to sit and play video games. But the other day really got me mad I walked in their getting my chia bars and someone walked up to me and said "do u work here" I mean really

Been, going to whole Foods since they opened, up. The quality of the food ,to me seems to have gone down. I, used to live their Fried Chicken, would estimate it every week. Then , about 5 months ago, started getting hives , and seen a Alegerist was tested for everything and noticed that every time I, ate the chicken ,about an hour later I, would break out with hives. I, tried other spicy food of theirs and same thing....HIVES ..Most of the staff doesnt seem that friendly anymore.

I love this store! Not only can I buy everything I need, from organic fruit to vegan makeup to craft beer, but when my car battery died outside of the store today, the staff went above and beyond to find someone with jumper cables to help me out! Terena, I believe her name was, was so friendly and helpful, she turned a very frustrating situation into an example of an employee going above and beyond to help out a customer. Thanks for the help guys, Ill definitely be back!

The meat department has excellent, safe, quality local meats. The price is higher than hormone / antibotic pumped meat; but, do you really want to eat garbage like that? Their bulk spices (and other serve yourself bulk) are wonderful for getting just what you want in the amount you need. They do carry several hard to find items as well. We shop there every month to stock up on specific items. Price wise, doing all our shoping there is just not doable.

Please save your time from going into the bakery. I am so sad, so disappointed right now. My boyfriend bought me an expensive cake from here. I was really excited, it looked delicious! I was wrong. There was no cake. I received a full on white chocolate sculpture! The cake was nowhere to be seen until you hit the middle. If can even say cake, this was a tortilla! Save your money and time from this disaster. Im so disappointed like Ive never been before...

Always a great experience. The store is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and always incredibly helpful. My wife and I especially appreciate Karlie, in the cheese department. We both agree that weve never encountered anyone so excited to talk about cheese. She always makes great recommendations and has great descriptions before we even taste (Which she always offers). Because of her, weve got some new favorites.

Thank you to the helpful people at Whole Foods. Recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Was completely lost and confused. The wonderful staff at Whole Foods went out of their way to answer my questions and help me. One employee even walked me to the natural/organic/gluten free section and offered suggestions as to what to use and what to stay away from. Wouldnt get that type of service elsewhere. Many thanks!

Back to where the employees know how to treat their patrons unlike the Newport News, VA location. Prices are still a bit high, but there is am abundance of choices. This location has a huge inventory although the bakery could use some improvement. The hot bar didnt look appetizing either...alot of dried out, greasy dishes, especially sauce dishes and meat.
