Terrible experience at this location today. Went in to purchase 5 $20.00 Visa gift cards for "Employee of the Month" gifts for my staff. At the register I was told that I could only pay for the gift cards using cash or a debit card. Being that this was an office expense I was going to pay for the transaction with my Company credit card which states both the company name and my personal name. However, the cashier stopped the transaction and called over another gentlemen who (completely ill-mannered by the way) proceeded to tell me their policy was that gift cards could only be purchased using cash or a debit card. When I asked if this policy was stated anywhere in the store he said yes it was. I ended up paying for the transaction with my personal debit card (to be refunded by my office upon my return) and then walked over the the end cap containing all of the gift cards. No, there was not a single notice ANYWHERE stating their policy. I asked another staff member on my way out about the policy and she mentioned the same thing and that the vendors that refill the gift cards often remove the signs stating their policy. If this keeps happening Giant, why not invest in a permanent sign to be placed in plain view? Is this such a hard concept? Or, better yet, rather than inconveniencing your guests, why not ask for ID as verification? Yet, maybe this is too difficult of a concept for you. If I didnt work literally next door to this location, Id gladly keep my business at KROGER!

This is one of my go to stores for grocery shopping, however its gone downhill over the years. They have added a healthy/natural foods section, but its not as extensive as it could be. Their produce has been disappointing me for a while now. I feel like its time to remodel this store. On the plus side, the manager, Rodger is great, as are most of the rest of the employees. The deli folks are very nice and manage to layer the sliced cheese for you, which for some reason seems to be a problem for a lot of the other delis in town. The seafood and meat people are also very helpful and curtious and are always there to assist you with any questions. I will raise my rating if and when they remodel this Giant.

If you visit a grocery store, you want to find things in stock... And you want nice looking fresh produce... Giant usually has people restocking and it has some exotic stuff occasionally... I love finding new items,, like the thickened cottage cheese or skor yogurt,, shallots in season,, green cauliflower, "organic?" cleaners, etc.. I used to rely on krogers, but they removed the diet low calorie items... Food Lion has nice produce, too, but the selections are more limited... I usually shop at both stores.

Went in for help at the service desk, employee was friendly and cheerful. Came what we went in for. As we were leaving a man walking towards the store as we were walking into the parking lot...asked us what was wrong as we didnt have a cart full of groceries. apparently a manager. Not to worry Manager, we got what we needed. Very friendly place, sorry we didnt have time to do more shopping there.

I like Giant because I can locate the items I need with ease. The employees are very pleasant and I LOVE Cville! I am in a different city every 13 weeks and I would LOVE to extend my stay, here in this beautiful and friendly city! (fingers crossed for luck!!)
