6/17 update: After i posted this review I was contacted by a lovely woman to rectify my complaint. That was a great touch and I really appreciated, but I didnt update my review. But when I broke my glasses and needed to get them replaced, I reluctantly went back to this TSO. To my happy surprise I got the service every other review talked about. The staff was great and I got they call to pick them up! It was seamless and I will just say my last experience was a outlier! 2/17 I would love to give this higher, and it seems like I am an outlier, I am just so upset about my service at this TSO. My initial visit was superb! The doctor who I didnt even do my eye exam with helped me get temporary contacts to make my decision easier and the man who helped me pick out my glasses was so great I decided to buy two pairs instead of just one one I went in for. I picked up my first pair on 2/1 and was told my second pair wasnt ready and I would get a call when they were. THIS is where the problem happens. I waited over three weeks and finally decided to call on 2/24 only to be told my glasses have been ready for weeks! What?!?!? When asked why wasnt I notified the man I spoke to said, "yeah you were notified on 2/1" Seriously? How was I notified my glasses were ready when they werent ready when I picked them up in 2/1?!? He was wholly unhelpful and kept repeating there that was the only note on my file. I still cant believe my second pair of glasses have been ready for weeks and it took my calling to be told that.

I got my glasses there in august 2010 I also was put off by the rudeness of the person scheduling me. Once I got there they had me do some scan that my insurance doesnt cover once they did it I was told I would have to pay $40 for it (i had no intentions of doing that & still havent) the doctor is the only reason why im not rating lower she was awesome, funny & made my visit there a great experience but I was let down again when i had to select my frames I was taken to the area my insurance covered & not shown anything else I picked a pair that I HATED & was really disappointed until on the way out my friend noticed a display case of designer frames (gucci, versace, cavalli,etc) that were clearly marked as clearance items. The girl that showed me the original pair was nowhere to be found however the doctor was behind the desk & was nice enough to unlock the display & go find the girl so I could try on something that I liked. I selected a pair of just cavalli frames that I still absolutely love till this day, that I only had to pay $99.00 out of pocket for. I wish I had been informed of all the options available before I made the first selection, I cant help thinking that because of the insurance I have I was prejudged by that girl. Dont judge a book by its cover or in my case by its insurance!!!! THANK YOU TO THE DR (i think her name started with a M) YOU ROCK & I hope you will be there next year when its time for my checkup..if not, im going somewhere else.

Horrible place to buy frames! My exam was in April so lets assume the glasses came a week later. Within two months, the frame cracked. I got an exact match replacement. And here it is four months later and that frame cracked too. I am easy on my glasses, they go into a case when I am not wearing them which tells me that Texas State Optical is grossly marking up crappy frames. I will not use their optical department again. Eye exam and doctor were professional. If you go there, get an exam then go online to get glasses made. My husband used Warby Parker and the quality was better for a third of the price that TSO charged me for the defective glasses described above.

My visit exceeded my expectations. I was able to get the glasses of my dreams, that I first saw two years ago. Dr. Angela mentioned that they were there, I put my hands right on them and now my life is almost complete. I cant wait until they are ready. I do not remember the ladys name who verified my insurance and made my dream come true, but I bet you I will get it upon my return, she was the best of the best. I was a client of Angelas father many years ago, and I have to say "like father like daughter" the same wonderful mannerism. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, and God bless.

I used their online appointment request and they were able to fit me in as a walk-in on the day I wanted. I didnt wait long at all. As soon as I was done with the priliminary paperwork I was taken to start my exam. Dr. Angela is a beast! (that is a good thing) I will be visiting her from now on. The frames there are modern and a bit out there. I wasnt sure what I wanted but one of the assistants sat with me and gave me her opinion (good and bad) on all the frames i tried on. I would recommend this location!

I want to applaud Martha M (Manager) at TSO. I had a course I had to teach a course and my glasses completely broke. I was blind. Its very hard (impossible) to teach if you cant see. This was a real emergency. And I dont even live in TX. Martha took fantastic care of me in the most helpful, quickest, courteous, and professional way!!! She literally saved the day! Based on this interaction alone, Id highly recommend Museum TSO to everybody with contacts, eyeglasses, or any eye care needs!!! Superb!

I would highly recommend this business. The customer service was above and beyond. Without getting into all the details, Tevin was able provide excellent customer service for our son who lives in Houston when we live in Oklahoma. He went out of his way to take care of the details and I felt very comfortable. He explained all the pricing and was very detailed. I will definitely recommend them to all my Houston friends and family!

They were nice and helpful, but the opthamologist/optometrist got my prescription wrong the first time, so I had to return. On the second visit my glasses werent ready. Im not sure if my input during the exam wasnt that great, but my prescription doesnt seem strong enough and I still have problems reading some text at distances of even 10-15 feet as well as road and freeways signs when driving. I wont be returning.

I really like the doctors and staff here! I have had several appointments there over the last few years and they are always super helpful and patient. Dr. Marcaccio is very friendly and knowledgeable and on my most recent visit, she took the time to explain things to me and figure out the best solution for the irritation I was having in my eyes. Thank you guys for always providing great service!

Best eye doctors by far! Dr. Richardson is very knowledgeable and awesome! And staff are always friendly, accommodating and helpful. Wait time is never an issue and pricing is competitive. I love Mel, who handled my eye glasses and contact purchasing/insurance. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a highly skilled, highly professional and welcoming team.
