Horrible experience here. I went in thinking I would need primer and paint since I was going from a Brown (Taupe) color to a light pink for my daughters room. When I asked the guy if I would need primer and how much paint I would need he talked me out of buying primer and said that one gallon would be enough to cover the walls and that the primer was only used for new dry wall. I asked him again to make sure and he again stated that I would not need the primer I would be wasting my time and money. Going on his advise I bought the paint ($45) and started painting the walls. I could tell immediately that one gallon was not going to work and you could see the taupe bleeding through. We called them the next day and talked to a different associate. Based on what I told him his response was " I would have sold you two gallons, and you for sure need primer since you are using pink." You would think these guys would be trained to give similar advise and not waste their customers money. So I essentially bought a very expensive primer and still need to buy more paint to finish the job. My wife went to the store to complain and see if they would at least compensate us for a free gallon of primer since we were essentially out $45, but the guy that sold us the paint ran to the back when he saw her walk in and a NEW associate gave her the run around long enough to make her not want to debate anymore and leave. With all the awful reviews online and the way they treat their customers its a surprise they are still in business. Maybe the fire was a sign to keep their doors closed.

First time I went here, one guy was very nice. As soon as I walked in the door, he asked if I needed help, showed me some paint colors, helped me pick out a couple colors to get some samples to take home. Nice guy I thought. I used the paint color, but found out you can color-match at Home Depot. So, just went there for my gallon of paint since Home Depot was closer. Went back about 2 months later, completely opposite experience. Three guys behind the counter, two were probably doing something important on the computer, another who knows. They made eye contact, then looked away, none of them even bothered with a "hello". Normally Im fine with being left alone and left to do my own thing, but a complete 180 from the first visit. I was looking at color strips for about 10 minutes, nobody bothered to ask if I needed any help. I heard a woman walk in and they were quick to greet her and help her - must have been her first time. Prices are a little high for paint samples - you can get the same pint at another BM retailer in the Heights for a couple of dollars less.

Southwest Paint is awesome. The service is fast and professional and all of the employees are friendly. On several occasions over the course of our renovation they patiently answered all of our questions, no matter how absurd. When we had problems picking a color, they listened to our description and helped us chose exactly what we were looking for (after letting us borrow their huge color fans). They even "upsold" us to Aura paint for that color to ensure that it came out the way we wanted, and then discounted the price to match the Regal we used everywhere else. I have nothing but good things to say about this paint store, and I will gladly come back in the future.

The store owner and employees are RUDE. The store is ugly. They dont know what costumer service is. I will never go again. My piece of advice is NEVER go there!
