Update (from 1 to 2 stars): Patrick reached out to me after seeing my google review, intending to gain clarity on my displeasure with services rendered and seek resolution. I commended the effort to follow up, albeit ~2 months after the fact. Clearly we had misunderstandings regarding the scope and costs of requested vs. rendered services; which were exacerbated by the travel required to drop the bike at his shop after the promising phone quote and myself being on vacation after dropping it off. The primary cause, I think, of the misunderstandings was inconsistent nomenclature between Patrick and myself. I maintain, and Patrick agreed, that it is incumbent on the expert to validate and confirm mutual understanding for services requested. The fork issue remains a point of contention. As a rider who conducts a brief inspection prior to every trip on my bike, it is inconceivable that an oil saturated fork, wheel, and brake apparatus would go unnoticed by myself. I can confirm, however, that Patrick suggested that I could bring the bike in and he would replace the seals at no cost - IF there were signs of intentional destruction to them. Now Im not sure how we would define the criteria for determining this (it was moot since Ive had the repairs done elsewhere since), but nonetheless he did propose it. The bottom line for me is that I paid more for less. Perhaps it was naive to assume the phone quote was accurate, travel to leave the bike at the shop, and then go on vacation while the work was to be performed. As stated to Patrick, I am not a mechanic and that is precisely why I pay for the expertise. I also made it clear that my displeasure in this case is less about the money and more about the principle. At the very least, Patrick did reach out after seeing my original review - semblance of concern for reputation and customer satisfaction. Maybe my experience was simply the exception to the rule... but based on the 1 sample I do have, Im 40% satisfied - or 2 out of 5 stars. Original Review: Due to misunderstanding Patrick charged me $707 for standard maintenance on my bike - $250 of which I actually requested, and some things I wanted were left undone (front tire & clutch cable)... all after a $600 rough quote for the the few things I wanted (oil change, tires, and brake & clutch cables). The offer to reconcile for this significant discrepancy was another quote for an additional $600 worth of work, with free labor on the clutch cable which is worth about $25-40 from a typical mechanic. When I went to pick up my bike, they had replaced the brake lines (not requested) and the fork was saturated with oil - which was dry when I left the bike to be serviced. Combine the new fork issue with the lack of work I requested being completed, and the extra work that I didnt request due to the misunderstanding - I certainly dont plan any future business here and cant recommend that others do either. I moved here from out of state, and travelled well outside my local area (downtown) to take my bike to this establishment - specifically as a result of the abundant positive reviews I read online. With the misunderstanding about what was done, I would expect a reputable business to exhibit integrity, take - or at least share - responsibility, and make things right at a fair and justifiable cost. After all, as a customer I am paying for expertise - which implicitly places such obligation to the professional. I guess this place gets enough volume that they dont need to adhere to such a business model.

This place is awesome! Full of knowledgable & helpful staff! They always answer my questions & give me advice even when I am not buying anything, which is rare nowadays... I see ppl complaining about ordering gear online that doesn ot fit, or parts that are not the right part, etc.....& I thought I would share a little story about why MU is the best & why if you want it done right the first time, you should go to them..... I could not find leathers anywhere that fit (I am pretty small so places do not carry my size since it is not comon, does not sell easily), but I did find a shop that guaranteed fit. MU told me if we ordered them & they did not fit, they could return/exchange them at no cost to me. They do not carry a ton of product in the shop, but they have a ton of catelogs & have always been helpful & patient in going through them with me when I am picking out gear. These guys specialize in what they do, from working on the bike, to fitting you for gear, to advice over the phone. They are not you average motorcycle shop for gear, either, they actually know the product even if they do not have it on the shelf. They can tell you the difference b/w one brand to another, & explain based on your measurements what will & will not work. They do not just say "oh, youre a small" & tell you get something in a small. All manufactures are not the same & they know this. Some brands you may be a small, others an XS. I told one of the workers at MU I wanted a different helmet besides a Shoei & that I wore an XXS in Shoei (& what I did not like about my Shoei). He told me which brands had similar fit, measured my head to make sure, & then helped me pick out a helmet that I absolutely LOVE. These guys know the difference amongst the brands. Patrick does not hire idiots, or ppl. that dont know what the hell they are talking about. If you tell them you found it cheaper somewhere else, they will probably match the price. Anything I have ordered from them fit the first time & I was very happy with what I got. The moral of the story: From now on, when you want to get it right the first time, go to MU. You have been told...if you go to another "shop" & they mess your bike up, scratch your rims, steal your PC, sell you a product that does not fit, do not get mad when I tell you "I told you so." Im not saying these guys are the end all of all shops, but from my experience, they get it right each & every time, so why go anywhere else?

1st of all im a 5-6 year customer here, i brought my kawasaki to this place and specifically wanted to just get it running and they were supposed to call me and let me know what was needed to be done, nothing was ever approved, the wait they told me initally was 8 weeks that they would have my bike, i had used them before so i was ok with that, well 8 weeks go by i call them and nothings happened to my bike, so they told me 2 more weeks, 3 weeks later i call them and they say i owe them about $2600 on my 2007 kawasaki i bought for $1200, all i brought it to them for was to know what it needed to ONLY get it RUNNING and they did a full restoration and charged me over $1000 in holding fees, the owner patrick is very rude and cussed at me when i tried talking with him and got defensive and mad about everything. now several months have gone by and I have recieved letters from their lawyers that they are sueing me and that i have to go to court because they have a mechanic lean on my bike, i also have a friend that knows someone this happened to its a thing dirty bike shops do, and this shop is definetly dirty located in the ghetto side of fm1960 they dont do good work and they always act bothered if you have a question, their repairs are over priced and ridiculous and several of the items listed didnt even need to be done so watch out what they say without a 2nd opinion theres also another guy here below me with a 1 star who looks like had the same dealings with patrick and his slimey family as i did and Patrick H is the Owner below posting 5 star reviews on his own business, all those other reviews aswell are him or his company with fake emails you can tell because its the only review they have ever done, how much of a crook is this fat a-hole that he has to write his own reviews, know this patrick the bike will be mine you will see
