BAD PIERCING EXPERIENCE - with Ryan Mills Before and after I got the cartilage piercing, Ryan stated that it would take 3-4 months to heal. At 3 months it would still bleed, and considering his stated time frame this was concerning (with it not even being closed by then). When I contacted him, he said bleeding is normal - means its healing - and that a cartilage piercing takes a long time to heal. I waited a few more months (almost 8 months total), until finally it got infected. I was told by a doctor that the piercing needed to come out, so with it being way outside the 3-4 months Ryan claimed it would heal in, and the present infection, I decided it was best to take it out so it could finally start healing (and I desired understanding as to why it was not healing). I had a different piercer take it out and clean it, and they told me that Ryan had actually pierced THROUGH A VEIN in the cartilage and that this is why it could not heal! According to this piercer, Ryan should have shown a light through my cartilage as to avoid sticking the piercing through a vein, and he definitely did not do this. Once that mess was taken care of on my end, I asked him to compensate me for the direct expenses from this occurrence. We sent a few emails back and forth, and to summarize I found that he was side-stepping the issue as well as contradicting himself, and he provided no relief. If he had truly told me how long this type of piercing might take to heal, I absolutely WOULD NOT have even gotten it in the first place! I totally regret going to him, especially since an irritating bump has formed inside the piercing site. So, interpret this as you will, but I advise you simply be aware of what you may be getting into from all angles...

I walked in to Skin Art about 3-4 months ago to get my first tattoo and was greeted nicely by the front desk staff who told me Benjamin Curneal would be my artist. After telling him this would be my first tattoo and that i was recommended by a friend who had just received an amazing rib tattoo by ben, we worked out the size of the design and i was quoted 100 bucks. Everything was great and receiving the tattoo went fine, however it wasnt until the tattoo had healed a bit it became very obvious that Benjamin really rushed the tattoo as what should have been simple geometric monoblack line work had poor symmetry and sloppy lines. I know hes a good artist, ive seen his good work, but he just decided his time was worth more than mine and seemed more interested in talking smack about the apprentice front desk associate and her mopping habits. This was the first tattoo i ever got, one of maybe 3 ill ever get in my life, and he rushed it. I even tipped him 60 on a 100 dollar tattoo... honestly if i would have known the outcome i would have gone to a different shop all together. In Response to Richard - Youre missing the point. Why would I come in for a free touch up if your artist cant give me the time of day when im paying him? Ill get a touch up where I can expect respectful service.

I had the best possible time working with Rich Garcia at Skin Art Gallery. From consultation to final product he was completely professional, polite, and catered to my requests. The shop at Skin Art Gallery was clean and inviting, staffed with really nice people. Some shops can be intimidating, not Skin Art Gallery. Let me say that Rich Garcias skill level is beyond that of a master, he has to be a wizard samurai from another planet or something. I came to him with a kind of off the wall idea that may have been too much for some artists and he took it in stride and hit a grand slam out of the park. He made suggestions to the design and I am so glad I listened to him, I cant stress that enough. More than once some of his other artists came to him and had questions about work they were doing and he took the time to help and guide them, I think that says a lot about his character. The piece that he did for me is flawless, and peoples jaws drop when they see it in person. My wife has 35 tattoos from 35 different artists, based on my experience, all my future tattoos will be done by Rich Garcia at Skin Art Gallery.

So I went in last night just before close on Friday, Nov. 11,2016. And I was greeted immediately, asked important questions while in all enjoying some awesome music, the music makes you calm (Suicide Silence) while youre sitting in the waiting room or getting the tattoo. Dan did my tattoo, he was so professional and amazing!!!!! This was my first tattoo so I was scared and asked multiple questions and he was soooo cool throughout the entire time, the outline on the tattoo was amazingly drawn, his section was completely clean only thing dirty was his art pieces stacked on the side, but that didnt matter, it was cool to see all of his pieces. I was mostly scared for the pain i was awaiting and he explained hed do one small line to see how Id handle it, and we were off to finish the tattoo. MAJOR MAJOR CREDIT TO HIM!!!! My first tattoo is amazing, experience is amazing, I recommend this place to everyone, I will come back soon!!!! Thank yall so much!

My wife and I got a beautiful portrait tattoo of our daughter that passed away a few years ago from Richard Garcia the owner of Skin Art Gallery and it was a great experience. Richard was very friendly and took the time out to listen to our story about losing our daughter and the emotional connection that we shared with that portrait since it was the only one that we had of her. He also took time to make sure we got exactly what we wanted with the placement and background of the tattoo. The other artists were super friendly when we first arrived at the shop. The shop was well maintained and clean. We have been to other shops that we got some work done and we never felt as welcomed as we did at Skin Art Gallery. We highly recommend that you give them a try If you are looking for great experience all around.

"One star, for warning, I was shopping around for a place to get my new tattoo and found skin art. Everything looked fine at first but then I noticed that one of the artists "Dan Juarez" had tattooed a backwards hand next to a girl and snake, I double checked to see if this was a mistake that got corrected or deleted but its still up on his Instagram and the shops Instagram. I have plenty of tattoos and artist friends, so when I seen something was off about this tattoo I immediately asked around and sure enough many agree this hand is backwards. Glad I avoided setting up a consultation at this shop. Tattoos are forever. Would not wanna have to get that lasered off"

Love Aaron, Trent, and the chick piercer. Sarah I think? I have had something done by each of them. They are super talented and I have a blast at every session. (Im currently in the middle of a large back piece) I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in tattoos or piercings. Its clean, fun, and they do great work. Keep in mind that if you arent greeted right when you walk in the door, relax! The staff is busy focusing on someone else. You would want their undivided attention if they were working on you too. They will ask if youve been helped soon enough. If youre that impatient then go somewhere else! This place is worth the wait.
