Vanuatu Coffee Roasters offers both a great cup of coffee and a fascinating story in the heart of Federal Hill. With their beans growing on the side of a volcano located on a small island nation off the coast of Australia, Vanuatu truly delivers a unique cup. The volcano provides for their plants all-natural fertilization, allowing the coffee to be harvested without any pesticides. This may just be the most sustainable coffee in the world. But how does it taste? The coffee unique to Vanuatu is naturally a little sweet and almost unbelievably smooth, with so little natural acidity that it can be consumed black by even the most dedicated patrons of cream and sugar. At its heart, the coffee is not too bold, but packs rich flavor. I highly recommend trying "the Rhody" on a hot summer day. The staff is incredibly friendly and the shop itself is very sleek, while still offering comfortable space to sit and enjoy. If you get the chance, talk to either of the brother-sister owner duo to hear about the incredible journey that brought Vanuatu Coffee Roasters to Providence!

I have lived in this neighborhood for 6 months and have had great experiences so far. I had a car that I was borrowing after knee surgery keyed down both sides this weekend in the area and I was really upset about it. Told them it was a really nice coffee shop being my first time there(looks like a hole in the wall but is actually very trendy and cool inside) and explained how it made me love the area again for another reason. I couldnt stop crying because who really keys a car ? Like the whole car? I just was really upset. The owner- Im assuming and her son tried so hard to cheer me up - including a chocolate cookie and napkin for my tears. I will go back to this spot for my morning coffee and scone(they are so soft and delicious) thank you!!!! I am now a regular thanks to your kind hearts.

The coffee is great and so is the food. A very comfortable and tasteful decor. But what keeps me going back are the owners Martha and Jimmy. They are the most welcoming people. And supportive. I recently made my theater debut and they were in the audience on opening night...how awesome is that? I like going to a place where everybody knows your name and Martha and Jimmy know their customers. By name. And they greet you like old friends. Their coffee with conscience is something to support and they are extremely knowledgeable about coffee, etc. They are also travelers to far off places and will be happy to share travel stories. GO there. Relax with a great cup of coffee and support a new local business...youll be glad you did.

If you love good coffee and want to experience people who genuinely care about it then this place is a must. The coffee is some of if not the best single origin I have ever had! Handled with care from the farm to the roasting machine you will be impressed. The owner Jimmy was a wealth of knowledge when it came to the coffee itself and the preparation. We talked about coffee and he shared his proper pour over technique with me after I asked the best way to do a pour over. It is really just a great coffee experience and will be ordering more online after I finish what I brought home to CT.

This is the coffee shop for everyone in Providence. Theres great coffee in a wide array of preparations, roasted in-house. Theres eight small tables in addition to half a dozen cozy seats. Outlets are readily accessible from the tables and good wifi. The service has been great; really friendly staff. You can ask to sample their signature drink, the "Rhody", which is cold brew coffee, cream, and sugar.

This place has wonderful coffee and extremely friendly, knowledgeable staff. The grower let us taste their signature drink, a lovely iced beverage, and explained the sourcing and growing arrangement to us. They are really committed to the region this coffee comes from and it is roasted in house. All around a great experience--not to be missed for coffee lovers!

Vanuatu coffee roasters is a social enterprise currently growing 30 acres of coffee in the country on small jungle island call Tanna island we have 30 acres it up and it is not for the use of enriching peoples lives down there because currently when young men come of age and families in order to help farmers they need to leave the country.

Ive become a huge fan of Vanuatu. Their beans are one of my favorites in the area to take home, and the shop itself is a great place to hang out and have a coffee. The bagel sandwiches are perfect. Im always excited when Im working in the Fed Hill area and can start my morning here.

Amazing coffee and a great atmosphere. Make sure to have a conversation with the owner (Jimmy) about his coffee, where it comes from and the different roasts.

What a gem. Im not usually a big fan of darker-roasted coffee, but I had a darker roast brewed via the siphon and it was DELICIOUS.
